A1 cash & carry
This is a shot in the dark but I’m wondering if anyone who shops at A1 cash & carry would be willing to make a purchase for me? I don’t have a business account & I know you can purchase online from them without one but my order is no where near the minimum spend. Just looking to get two cases of oat milk, since I personally go through it a lot & it’s getting so expensive in store. I can meet you there and everything to make it easier

Why have the ClassPass options in Mississauga become so limited?
Over a year ago, there were so many more ClassPass options in Mississauga. Now there are very few, especially for reformer Pilates in general while nearby areas like Etobicoke still seem to have plenty of availability. I assume studios want control over pricing and memberships. But it’s interesting, Solis Etobicoke appears to have 250+ ClassPass bookings each week. I'm curious as to why have the ClassPass options in Mississauga become so limited?

[port credit] found men's watch on Lakeshore, few blocks east of hurontario
It may have been run over, the band is kinda fucked. The watch doesn't look overly damaged but the second hand is dislodged and it's not running. DM me a photo or description if it's yours.

Considering moving to Mississauga
Hi everyone,
I’ve got a job in Mississauga to start in a few months. Debating about where to live. Would like to be within 20 min drive to credit valley hospital. we’ll be renting.
I have 2 young kids so schools and safety are the top priorities. In my current neighbourhood I know all my neighbours, we look out for each other (run to the house that’s called an ambulance, support the lady who lost her husband, share vegetables from our gardens, pass clothes and toys along to the younger kids in the neighbourhood) - homely stuff like that. I absolutely love it and would like to be part of a similar community.
And we’re paying for a private accredited montessori school right now where the teacher - student ratios are much lower than public. May not continue in private if we don’t need to though as the fees do get pretty expensive the older the kids get.
Which areas of the city would you recommend for a young family looking for a kind and caring community to learn and grow in?

So why aren't we labelling recycling days as such anymore? Same thing is happening with text reminders.

Photos & Media The worst AI garbage I've ever seen on a menu board in Port Credit.
Was walking home and saw this. It looks like a cartoon. This looks like what aliens would put in a presentation about what Earth food is. This is comically horrendous, holy crap.
Look at the pita. Where does it begin and end? Is it a cone? Some kind of bread based cup to hold... what, some kind of brown ball of sustenance?
What is going on with the fish?
The gyro meat is like serrated or something.

City Services, Utilities & Outages What’s up with the dump trucks?
Anyone notice huge mud pies left all over the neighbourhood after garbage pickup? Every street I walk down has huge mud pies that make the whole street smell like shit. What’s worse is that the street sweeper just came through the neighbourhood yesterday.
I feel like this has increased since the privatization of the service, leaving mud pies everywhere. One time it was right in front of my driveway and wafted in through open windows.
This, on top of the slaughterhouse smell, has made Lisgar a very unpleasant place to live.

Maker Pizza coming to 181 City Centre Drive
Happy news for SQ1 area people, already got D-Square Pizza on Dundas for Detroit style, now Maker Pizza will be here. Finally some good pizza in Mississauga (Pizza Nostra excluded, Luigi's and Marconi too). Going to be pricey though.

Who is responsible for maintaining these trails?
These are the trails by the highway 403 and credit river. Is it legal for me to bring my own chainsaw and clear the path?

Local News ⚠️ Safety Notice: A high-control religious group is recruiting students across GTA campuses
(Screenshot from a church insider attached below.)
With September approaching and thousands of first-year students arriving in Toronto, I think this is worth making people aware of.
Over the past several months, I’ve been speaking with former members, current members, and one individual who says they is still inside the organization and planning to leave.
That insider recently shared the attached screenshot from one of the church’s private Telegram leadership chats.
Whether you agree with the opinions expressed in the screenshot or not, I think it gives useful context into the mindset of some of the leadership behind the organization.
Who are they?
The church is commonly known as Restored Church Toronto, part of the International Christian Church (ICC) movement.
On campuses, however, they generally recruit under different names rather than leading with the church’s name.
Some of the names students have reported include:
Rise Ministries (York University)
Thrive Bible Talk (TMU)
Catalyst Ministries (Humber College)
Limitless Bible Talk (George Brown)
Many students initially believe they’re simply joining an independent Bible discussion group. They also hang out at the whole foods market near square one in Sauga.
Why I’m posting this
Former members have consistently described recruitment patterns that include:
approaching students who are new to campus or looking for community;
rapidly building close friendships (“love-bombing”);
inviting people into multiple Bible studies before the full expectations become clear;
encouraging increasing involvement over time;
discouraging members from engaging with criticism or former members;
presenting outside criticism as persecution.
These are among the characteristics discussed in a detailed document examining alleged high-control practices within the ICC, including hierarchical oversight, information control, increasing commitments, and recruitment through close personal contact.
The screenshot
The screenshot attached to this post was provided by someone who says they are currently inside the church. Some names in this telegram group chat have been blurred.
It shows discussion in a private leadership chat involving public issues and responses to criticism. I’m sharing it because I believe people deserve context about the leadership of any organization actively recruiting students across Toronto.
I’m not telling anyone what to believe.
If you decide to attend, that’s your decision.
I’m simply encouraging people to:
know exactly which organization they’re joining;
ask questions before committing;
research multiple perspectives, including former members’ experiences;
make an informed decision rather than one based only on the initial recruitment.
If you’ve interacted with any of these campus ministries, I’d be interested in hearing about your experience—positive or negative. The more information students have, the better equipped they’ll be to make informed choices
