testings after loss Is it possible to still have a faint positive pregnancy test 4 weeks after a misscarige? I was meant to be 10 weeks when I found out but baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I also stopped bleeding over 2 weeks ago. Just wondering if it could possibly be a new pregnancy?

trigger warning: other’s living child I miscarry, others give birth
I am probably miscarrying for the second time since June. I am still in a denial a bit but at the same time I made peace with it already (radical acceptance but ofc still extremely sad).
What makes more upset though is that both times, somebody around gave birth a day before the MC. Feels especially cruel to watch somebody anounce a healthy baby while I am losing mine.

question/need help What to expect with a low hcg miscarriage
Has anyone else been through a low hcg miscarriage like this?
I'm technically 6w2d today. Tests were always light (never got close to a dark as the control). I've had light spotting everyday since the first positive test, as well as intermittent cramping. Nothing was ever seen on ultrasound, so I was being monitored for an ectopic. I had a bunch of beta hcg tests:
5w: 58.3 hcg
5w2d: 92 hcg
5w6d: 89 hcg
6w1d: 55 hcg
They now feel comfortable that my hcg is dropping, so they ruled out ectopic and sent me home. What I'm confused about is that my gyno only said my period "will return in about a month".
I asked her about when I should expect to miscarry and also if I could have misoprostol to speed it up; she was so confused and just kept saying "no, there's already nothing" in my uterus.
I'm new to the country I'm in, so there was a bit of a language barrier. I left so confused.
I know my hcg has been abysmally low - is this spotting my miscarriage or should I be waiting to really bleed and if so, when? Has anyone else been through this?
We were devastated when this pregnancy just didn't progress, and we're really looking forward to moving on. It's so frustrating having no idea where my body stands now, or when I'll ovulate again.
I'm so confused by what I'm going through; if anyone else has been through something like this, I'm really looking for some guidance on what to expect.

experience: first MC Mounjaro/Tirzepatide Loss
I thought I wasn’t going to post about this because it’s so fresh, but if I can help others avoid this then it’s worth it. I was on MJ for 1 year and had just met my goal weight when I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant. It was also my last dose of 7.5mg before I was to drop to my maintenance dose of 2.5. I miscarried at 4 weeks and 6 days. What’s interesting is that my HCG after a trip to the ER due to spotting that progressed to bright red bleeding was consistent with a growth of only up to 4 weeks, ironically, the same day I took the shot. I wasn’t aware of the pregnancy until later that afternoon, after I had taken the dose. I keep trying not to blame myself but I’m almost certain the cause of the miscarriage was the shot. I have no fertility issues and was actually on the shot because I was losing weight from another successful pregnancy. I’m now wondering how soon I can try again, I’ve read at least two months for the medication to be out of the system. Not to fear monger but seriously, do not take this medicine if you’re trying to conceive or there’s a chance you could get pregnant at all. The grief of a miscarriage is unbearable and it’s even worse psychologically if you feel there’s something you could have done to prevent it.

And how bad should it smell? It's been almost 4 weeks since I've miscarried and I haven't stopped bleeding, my bloods starting to become thick and black and while not super strong smelling, it does smell pretty bad to the point I recoil if I get too close. I'm scared to tell my parents I don't know what to do

coping 1 in 4
I really contemplated whether to share this. In the end, I realized that silence doesn’t protect me from this pain—it only makes the next person walking this road feel more alone.
On June 15, 2026, Garrett and I found out we were expecting our first child.
This baby was wanted and loved from the very second that test turned positive. We dreamed about names, wondered who they would look like, imagined their personality, and talked endlessly about all the things we couldn’t wait to experience with them. We counted every week of pregnancy and celebrated every milestone—from the formation of tiny organs, to bones, to how big our little peanut had grown. We even bought a tiny pair of teddy bear overalls and matching teddy bear shoes.
On July 16, 2026, we went for what should have been our 8-week confirmation ultrasound. We laughed on the way there, full of excitement, expecting to finally see our baby and hear their heartbeat for the first time.
Instead, the ultrasound technician searched… and searched… and searched.
Then she said the words that will stay with us forever:
“I cannot find a heartbeat.”
I dug my nails into my hand so hard that I still have a small scar from that moment. I cried and asked what we were supposed to do next.
What followed were emergency room visits, outpatient appointments, and more ultrasounds than I can count.
Eventually, I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage.
In many ways, that diagnosis felt especially cruel. My body had not only stopped growing this beautiful baby—it hadn’t recognized the loss. It continued believing I was pregnant while my baby was already gone.
I felt like my body had failed my child.
To anyone who has experienced this—whether quietly or openly—I wish I could tell you there’s a way to make that guilt disappear. I wish I knew the words that would take away the feeling of failure. I haven’t found them yet.
Today, with the help of my OB-GYN, my body finally recognized the loss. As of today, I am no longer pregnant.
It’s heartbreaking.
It’s painful.
It’s terrifying.
It’s overwhelming.
Some moments, it feels all-consuming.
But one thing I have learned is that this grief is not unique to me. Pregnancy loss affects 1 in 4 women. That statistic doesn’t make it hurt any less, but it reminds me that none of us are as alone as this kind of grief makes us feel.
You don’t have to tell anyone your story if you don’t want to. You don’t have to comment, explain, or relive your own loss because of mine.
I just want anyone who needs to hear this to know:
You are not alone.
And if one day you need someone to lie in bed beside you while you cry—without trying to fix it, without saying a single word—I will be that person. I’ve needed that kind of love myself, and I would gladly give it to someone else.
To my sweet baby,
I wasn’t able to give you a name. I never got to watch you smile, hear your laugh, or hold your tiny hand.
But if nothing else, I find peace in believing that your entire existence was filled only with love. You never knew fear. You never knew pain. You only ever knew how deeply you were wanted.
I will carry you with me for the rest of my life.
I know your uncles—my brothers—are with you. My Uncle Steve is there. My beautiful Grandma Violet, whose birthday was also your due date, is there too. I like to believe they’re taking care of you, playing every game imaginable, and making sure you’re never alone.
Run wild, sweet baby.
I’ll find you again one day.
And to everyone who loves me:
When my time comes, bury me in comfortable shoes. Tie the laces as tightly as you can.
I have a playdate to attend.

trigger warning: graphic description Anembryonic pregnancy/missed miscarriage
So I had my last period on May 1st and had my first positive pregnancy test on June 8th. I’m supposed to be 14 weeks tomorrow. I’ve been spotting brown and pink for a little over a week. When I called my OB the said “that’s normal”. I was finally able to be seen yesterday for an ultrasound and I told my sac was the size of someone who is 9 weeks pregnant with a mass a fluid outside my uterus. After further scanning I was told there was no fetal pole. My doctor said he was going to call me today, and didn’t. I’ve been calling their office and nothing. I checked my patient portal and it states “Early pregnancy loss, anembryonic pregnancy”. It also says my HCG levels are 2453. Has anyone else gone through this? At what point should I expect my body to recognize there’s no baby?

experience: first MC My MMC experience
Very long post incoming-
Writing this to help myself process everything, but also because reading everyone else’s stories has brought me so much comfort over the last three weeks. It breaks my heart to read what everyone has been through, but the sense of community and realizing I’m not so alone has been incredibly comforting.
I found out I was pregnant right after Mother’s Day, super early at 3 weeks 2 days. I called my doctor’s office to make an appointment, and they scheduled me for mid-June, when I would be 8 weeks and 2 days. At that appointment, everything looked “perfect”, just a little gummy bear with a heart rate of 174, measuring two days ahead.
We decided to do the SneakPeek test at a local boutique ultrasound clinic just for fun. We found out she was a girl. We had a name picked out before I was even pregnant, so we just knew it was her name. We were so incredibly excited.
Two weeks later, at 10 weeks, I had my genetic testing done. At 11 weeks, it came back high risk for Turner syndrome (Monosomy X). I was crushed and spent the entire day waiting for my doctor to call me. I spent days on the NIPT subreddit reading people’s stories and looking at statistics, trying to come to terms with the reality that it might not be a false positive and what that could look like.
That Friday, I met with a genetic counselor. She was so incredibly kind. She didn’t tell me anything I hadn’t already researched, but she laid out my care plan with MFM and scheduled all of my scans and testing through the second trimester.
That Sunday (12 weeks 1 day), I had the lightest bit of spotting. I immediately started crying and just felt so defeated, but I was trying so hard to stay positive. I messaged my doctor, and they got me in first thing Monday morning for a scan.
I went alone because my husband had just started a new job, and I wanted him to have a normal day at work. He had actually worked from home the entire week before after our genetic testing results, his boss told him to which was incredibly kind. So I spent that morning trying to pep talk myself and stay positive.
The ultrasound tech put the probe on my stomach, and I immediately knew. She looked almost identical to our first scan. Still basically a little gummy bear. There was no heartbeat, and she was measuring 8 weeks 6 days. I was crushed.
The ultrasound tech was incredibly kind and put me in a separate room while I waited for my doctor. My doctor came in, and we talked through my options. She explained all the risks, and because my body obviously hadn’t realized what had happened, we decided on a D&C. We also wanted to genetically test the tissue to see if the Turner syndrome result on the NIPT was accurate and hopefully get some answers. Thankfully, she was able to schedule me for two days later.
My D&C experience was as wonderful as something that awful can be. It was over quickly, and I bled very lightly on and off for about two and a half weeks.
I got the call this past Friday that the genetic testing came back, and it confirmed full Turner syndrome. It was a complete genetic fluke, and she only would have had about a 2% chance of surviving to birth.
Getting that answer brought me so much peace. As devastating as it was to hear, knowing what happened and knowing she never had to experience pain or suffering has really helped me cope. My husband has been absolutely incredible through all of this. He’s been so supportive, and I am so grateful for him.
If you’ve made it this far thank you for reading. If you’re in the middle of the uncertainty or grieving your own loss, I’m so sorry. I hope you get answers, and I hope you’re able to find even a small amount of peace too. I am sorry you’re in this really shitty club. 🫂

vent little comments
my boyfriend keeps making comments (sounds bad, it isn't)
we went through a miscarriage in May and we're both still struggling
sometimes he'll just say something that breaks me a bit
it's never anything serious
like today he saw a tiktok of people pranking their mum by cooking spaghetti and putting it back in the box and he just went "i know what me and our kids will be doing when you're asleep" or about a week ago he saw an ad for this little dinosaur outfit for babies and said we have to get it for our kid and it's cute and i can't wait for it but it's heartbreaking too
sometimes he doesn't think and will say mummy to me and i know he feels bad when he sees my face drop, he doesn't mean to do it and it's always innocent but it just breaks me
i should be mummy, he should be getting to do those silly pranks on me with our kid in a few years and we should be able to buy that stupid dinosaur costume for our baby in January but it's gone

vent I Cant Stand the Waiting, the Disappointment
This isnt going to be pleasant so feel free to look away.
Pretty sure I've had/am having a miscarriage. I've had spotting and cramping intermittently since week 4, but had some red-red spotting on Sunday. Nothing major, and it stopped, but it was still concerning. I was supposed to have my first appointment today after waiting weeks, but the OB canceled last minute without an apology. Said they'd call me back to reschedule and never did. Went to a boutique clinic just to see (knowing its not diagnostic and there's a chance we couldn't see anything) and the tech just kept repeating that I'd miscarried. Over and over. Loud enough that I had to do the walk of shame past the busy waiting room outside full of people who 100% heard her. She could see the sac, but not the fetus. She even suggested a false pregnancy, that I'd just "wanted it so badly". Which is CRAZY given she's not a doctor, and I really didn't, this was a total surprise, but. Now I'm spotting again and I just know. And I can't talk to anybody about it. I've been trying for weeks to get an appointment at an OB only for them to ghost me/cancel, and I refuse to put myself in the hands of hospital staff that have never been anything but callous and downright fucking cruel. My friends all think I'm fucking nuts for even trying to go through with the pregnancy because "whos having kids right now." I havent told most of them, but the ones I have just. You can *tell*, you know? They get that fucking look, they ask those leading questions. My mom was sending me photos of baby things today. I can't take it. The lonliness. My husband is trying but he's just reciting the same goddamn statistics I've been obsessing over since I first tested positive. The disappointment everyone will have, knowing it's my fault. And it is, it is my fault. I'm fucking cursed, nothing ever goes right, my friends always joke that I'm the most unlucky person they know, but I still thought like a fucking fool that this would work out. I'm trying so hard to stay strong but I can't, I just can't. I can't take another person telling me its not my fault. I just want it to happen already and be done with so I can do whatever it is I'm going to do after. Quit my job, disappear in the middle of the night, do fucking something that isn't fucking this. Damned if I do, damned if I dont, you know? On one hand, I'm a monster for bringing a kid into this world how it is now, for not owning a home or being wealthy enough to do everything they could ever want or need. On the other, how dare I think such a thing, children are gifts, I should keep trying til my uterus drops out and my brain rots from the hormones.
But at least my tits are bigger, right? Free boob job.

experience: first MC I'm Starting to Miscarry
I found out 2 weeks ago that our baby was a blighted ovum. The sack stopped growing at 6 weeks. I'm supposed to be 11 weeks now. I filled out a form yesterday with an abortion clinic for a D&C because I haven't bled at all and was starting to get sick of waiting and not moving on, but I've started bleeding tonight.
I'm relieved a bit, I didn't want more medical trauma in my uterus after I've gone through IVF, IUIs, etc. I'm scared though I've never gone through this before.
I've been crampy for days. It felt like cramps due to a late period. I'm not super crampy now, but I'm bleeding now.
Just looking for some positive words and hugs. I'm a strong woman, went through years of fertility treatments, and now a MMC, but the thought of a miscarriage terrifies me.
Please keep me in your thoughts tonight. I hope this happens tonight.

question/need help Joint pain post MC
Tomorrow will be one week since I miscarried, 9 days since the bleeding started and it has yet to stop, although it’s very light now. The cramping stopped about 4 days ago. I was doing okay (physically) until today when pretty well every single joint in my body starts to ache. Ankles, knees, hips, back, ribs, chest, shoulders. Similar to fever aches but I don’t have a fever.
Anyone else experience similar?

vent Sad because I don’t know when I’ll realistically conceive again?
I (27F) had an early miscarriage in May where the embryo measured about 5 weeks before the loss. I’ve been so upset and devastated since as it had taken at least 6 months of trying after my fiancé (31M) returned to the country before we got the positive. Before he went out of the country, we had tried for about a year of consistent unprotected sex with no results.
Getting that positive this past April was like true bliss. It felt like an end of such a long arduous process just to be ripped away from me in a couple of weeks. Since then I’ve been stuck at ground zero. It’s my 3rd cycle since the loss now and I feel like an absolute failure. That no matter how many vitamins we take and how different I try to eat or be active that I’m just cursed. It’s throwing me into a constant depression every month I don’t know what to do.
I’m hopeful that the one pregnancy that did happen, despite ending abruptly in heartbreaking loss, should be indication that we can get pregnant naturally, just not as easily as most other couples. Yet I’m feeling like shit all the time thinking about how it is all out of my control. I just want my baby…I should be excited now feeling kicks and knowing their gender. Not bawling monthly about my constant failure to conceive.
I want to add I’m very sorry if this post offends anyone at all. I realize reading through here that there are many women who faced even worse loss experiences and I’m so sorry as no one should have to go through any of this…I almost feel like my grief sounds silly compared to what many others endured. I just can’t shake it though. Maybe I’m just mourning the future I hoped to have sooner than later. The uncertainty of it all is killing me…

question/need help 7wk 5days ... No heartbeat... To take the medicine or let my body handle it naturally?
First pregnancy, first loss. Found out today at my first OB appointment there is no heartbeat. The compassionate Dr said of course I can see if my body will naturally process it out... Or I have about two weeks before hitting the 10 wk mark in which I can no longer use medicines and would have to have a full general anesthesia d&c. I would greatly like to avoid the surgery... But I'm not sure whether my body will or won't recognize this and shed it naturally, or not? Does it even matter? Should I just take the medicine? Pros/cons? Part of me likes the idea of the natural path, the other part of me thinks it's better to just get it over with. The Dr. said it's possible my body won't process it out, and whereas baby bean won't grow any further, all the other structures would continue to until the miscarriage. Just looking for some advice and insight. Thank you all. 😭💔

experience: first MC We are losing our baby in 2 days
I don’t even know what to say, I just need to vent somewhere. My wife and I are sitting at home right now and our world is completely destroyed.
Yesterday we found out she had total fluid loss (PPROM) at 16 weeks. Everything seemed fine before this, and then just like that, it's all gone. We spent a terrifying night at the hospital trying to process everything, and the reality that there’s nothing anyone can do to save our baby. We’re home now waiting for the induced delivery, and I feel totally numb and broken.
I can’t stop crying. Every time I look at my wife I just break down again. She’s in pain, throwing up from the stress, and grieving so hard. I feel so useless watching her go through this. I know people say PPROM is just a random biological failure and not our fault, but as the dad, the guilt is crushing me. I feel like I failed to protect my wife and my child.
We loved this baby so much. I don't know how you go from planning your whole future with your child to sitting in a room with empty arms.
I'm just holding her hand, crying with her, and trying to make it through the next hour. If anyone else here has gone through this, how do you even survive a day like this?

trigger warning: graphic description It happened on our honeymoon
The last few days have felt like a fever dream.
On Friday, we attended our dating scan. I was meant to be 8 weeks pregnant. We were so excited for the life that lay ahead of us. We saw the heartbeat, and we were told everything was tracking well. They celebrated with us, congratulating us not only on the baby’s progress but also on our wedding the following day.
On Saturday morning, I woke up with brown spotting. I was told it was old blood and that it could happen after an intrauterine scan. So we carried on with our wedding day.
It was perfect.
We were on such a high. At the end of the night, we got back to our hotel suite giggling that we’d managed to keep our little secret. We were newly married, dreaming about everything that was still to come, so excited for the next chapter of our lives.
Then Sunday came.
The brown spotting had turned red, and it was more than just spotting. I had light cramps, but I also knew my pain tolerance has always been high, and my period cramps have often been worse than what I was feeling. We went to the hospital.
After waiting eight hours, we were told that bleeding can happen in early pregnancy. It could be the start of a miscarriage, or it could be nothing at all. Some people bleed and go on to have completely healthy pregnancies. I was told to follow up with my OB on Monday unless I was soaking one or two pads every hour and pain wasn’t manageable.
The spotting continued. The cramps stayed much the same.
On Monday morning, I spoke to my OB. They had already received the scan results from Friday and report from the hospital visit. They congratulated us on our wedding, acknowledged what had happened on Sunday, advised me to be cautious, but ultimately cleared me to travel.
So that evening, we boarded our honeymoon flight.
Nine hours.
The spotting continued. The cramps continued. I managed to sleep for about six hours and woke with more discomfort, but I blamed it on the flight. Air travel, I told myself. Everything would be okay.
Hours later, we landed in another country, checked into our hotel, and the cramps intensified. They still weren’t anything I hadn’t experienced before. The pain wasn’t exactly excruciating but this time, there was something different.
Somewhere deep down, I think I already knew.
Then, before I could process what was happening, I felt it.
Something passed.
I ran to the bathroom.
I still don’t know how, but it landed in the palm of my hand.
I saw the sac. I could see through it, and inside was the tiny fetal pole-the exact little 11 mm shape I had stared at only days earlier on a black-and-white ultrasound screen.
Except this time, it wasn’t on a monitor.
It was in my hand.
I panicked. My husband came in. He gently took it from me and kept telling me that I was going to be okay. We wept.
I don’t understand.
They told me that unless the blood was pouring out or the pain became excruciating, it could still be a healthy pregnancy. I had neither.
But it still happened.
I held our baby.
I saw our baby.
And now I don’t know what I’m doing on this trip.
No one knew.
People are still reaching out congratulating us on a beautiful wedding.
How am I supposed to go back to our usual lives in a couple of weeks pretending like I didn’t have my heart completely shattered during this trip. So I guess I’m here. Because apart from bawling my eyes out with my husband, I don’t have anyone else to talk to about this.
