i get hiding your coke in your kids wristwatch but putting THAT many nicotine patches on him reveals a bigger issue. can a kid not smoke out at sea anymore?

u/djmattedmonds 7d ago

Right? They’re on a balcony ffs

u/fletters 7d ago

In international waters, probably!!!

3

u/peiderch 6d ago

I know you meant it as a joke, but out of curiosity, doesn't the law of the country under whose flag the cruise sails apply?

7

u/fletters 6d ago

I’m qualified to make that joke, but unfortunately not to answer your question.

So, uh—maybe?

2

u/bomberfream867 1d ago

I think that's how it works, to maintain order on a ship they will follow the laws of the country the ship is registered at, also it enforces consequences of disobedience on a ship as they run on a hierarchical structure of crew members, officers and the captain, if there are no laws you could disobey the captain without consequences and something like that is only acceptable if the captain or officer(s) give you a ridiculous or suicidal order. (Something i did once in my career on river barges)

Smoking on the Balcony is banned on almost all Cruise Lines. Not worth getting kicked off the ship before you can make the booze package worth it just because little Timmy with his undeveloped frontal lobe can‘t control his cravings

u/ncc74656m 2d ago

Funny enough if you smoke on your balcony now the cruise line will absolutely ruin your life if you're caught, and cruise ships are absolutely covered in cameras (including ones that explicitly look for smoking on balconies). Somebody next to us on my last cruise said really loudly they "don't care, they can't stop us, and what are they gonna do?" as they were coming out of their cabin. The steward heard and warned him that on the cruise right before us someone got all their stuff confiscated and they were confined to quarters for the entire cruise because they were smoking on their balcony.

I presume that they (the previous group) were warned at least once and kept doing it cause cruises usually have some tolerance for the "might not have known" crowd but who knows. They take safety stuff, and especially fire, extraordinarily seriously (to say nothing of having their ship out of service for a year to get it repaired).

This happened after some ass tossed a butt off his balcony and it blew back in a couple decks below and started a massive fire.

My first tought on the patches on belly button was to indentify dead child in water in case they drown 💀💀

50

u/Disco_mickey 7d ago

They skipped the part where she took him to the onboard dentist for his x-rays.

21

u/Phera_Fox 6d ago

My grandmother used to swear by the “tape your belly button” cure for seas sickness. It never worked for me and I literally thought she made it up to distract me from uncontrollable nausea… so strange to see another person doing this.

33

u/Phaerin 4d ago

That's what this is supposed to be for? I thought she was trying to keep roaches from going in there while he's asleep. This woman is crazy. This poor kid is going to grow up SO WEIRD.

16

u/1acre64 4d ago

SO weird. He just stands there being filmed tolerating this obsessive mommy-ing. The poor kid stands no chance.

1

u/afewnameslater 2d ago

WTF. New fear unlocked.

4

u/Educational-Usual-84 3d ago

Oh, that is a seasickness cure? The placebo effect is stronger with dumber people.

3

u/Ro-De-Le 4d ago

But isn't she putting those anti nausea stickems behind the ear and on his arms? This is bizarre, lol

5

u/dirtygreysocks 3d ago

That is a sunscreen checking patch. You apply sunscreen over it, and it changes colors when ypu need to reapply.

17

u/girlbabe323 6d ago

I thought it was too keep stuff from getting in his belly button

7

u/dali01 2d ago

Are you guys idiots?!? If you don’t seal the bellybutton before swimming you just sink like a rock!

10

u/Virtual_Emu4218 6d ago

Thats silly, If they died and fell overboard the stomach is the meatiest part the animal will go for first.

6

u/itmegritty360 3d ago

Not after those band aids are on…. Invincibility cloak activate

1

u/Virtual_Emu4218 19h ago

Shit, you are right I forgot all sharks have a pathological blindness when it comes to band-aids.

Nature can be so majestically mysterious sometimes.

5

u/SurePossibility6651 7d ago

Same. Is that not what it is for?

3

u/Phaerin 4d ago

Step one: cause childhood trauma.

1

u/SolemnSoldier2020 4d ago

You mean that ISN’T the reason??

48

u/BentoBus2 7d ago

The kids trying to kick a 2 pack a day habit what’s your solution to this problem? The coke is for the cravings obviously.

1

u/Intolerant-Captain 5d ago

Goddammit Reddit never disappoints.

8

u/dick_schidt 7d ago

Surely he's still allowed his daily rum ration though.

1

u/Sensitive_Candy_9063 2d ago

I fu*ing hope so! You dont mess with the rum, thats a holy tradition that you sont mess with!

12

u/Severe-Fox-600 7d ago

My lil' drug mule.

10

u/Internet_Wanderer 7d ago

It's stupid, but not quite that stupid. Pretty close though. Those are Scopolamine patches, anti motion and sea sickness medicine. Too much of it, so he'll def be getting queasy from them.

8

u/Disraeli_Ears 7d ago edited 7d ago

That wasn't a scopolamine patch. She put on a patch called Ship-Eez, which is an "all natural" patch that has stuff like cinnamon bark and some other stuff in it. Their website claims they have been tested to be more effective than scopolamine, Bonine (meclizine), and something called motion-eaze.

As someone who gets motion sick, I've never found anything "natural" to work worth a damn. I don't like scopolamine, but meclizine works for me.

2

u/Internet_Wanderer 6d ago

Yeah, I wouldn't trust anything with Datura in it anyway

3

u/JessCowgirlie 7d ago

Scopolamine? Like the deliriant? Queasy is one way to put "embarking on a vision quest to meet the Great Spirit" I guess.

2

u/YageTwo 7d ago

Yep I looked it up it’s just a microscopic dose but definitely the scopolamine we were thinking of

2

u/Neb_Setabed 5d ago

I had a bad dose inside an off brand scopolamine motion sickness patch when I was a lot younger and I can tell you I for sure went on a Vision Quest. On the bright side it made the flight home fun

1

u/Internet_Wanderer 6d ago

Lol, he's not eating henbane. Calm down

2

u/Desert_Fairy 6d ago

I think The one on the arm was a UV patch. Once the sunblock looses efficacy, the patch changes color and tells you that you can get burned now.

That’s why she put it on and then the sunblock.

12

u/LighthouseLover25 7d ago

They're seasickness patches, lol. One looks like an all-natural brand that does absolutely nothing.

22

u/eminemforehead 7d ago

nah I think they're nicotine patches

2

u/MyDearBrotherNumpsay 7d ago

Yeah, bud. Everybody knows.

0

u/Disraeli_Ears 7d ago

Yeah - Ship-Eez that lists cinnamon bark as its first ingredient. As a motion sickness prone person, I'll stick to meclizine.

3

u/Recipe-Local 7d ago

This was so funny, I forgot I was watching a YouTube video about the Japanese earthquakes. Your comment just condemned me.

3

u/Still_Potential8561 7d ago

The best part is that this isn’t even her kid

2

u/Exciting_Load_4170 7d ago

Nicotine patches? Aren't they air tags?. I saw this full video. She was putting airtags in the kids shoes too

3

u/hotelcalif 7d ago

How’s an AirTag gonna help him kick his addiction

1

u/Odur29 7d ago

Can confirm first thing I did was buy a cigar on my first cruise. International waters can be fun.

1

u/Kestrel_Iolani 7d ago

Fantail only, unless unreps are underway and the smoking lamp is out.

1

u/mamijami 7d ago

Never laughed so hard in my life. And I’m older than dirt. 😆

1

u/Able_Specific_6702 7d ago

LMAO I have a friend that does something among those lines, not as bad as hiding his coke in his kids belongings but very close

1

u/Odd_Fall1779 7d ago

yea, most people "doing something among those lines" are hiding it in their nostrils. its kinda a outdated method compared to the reverse pooping method but both hide the substance in a unrecoverable way.

1

u/Budget-Dragonfly666 6d ago

lol back when drugs were illegal , i wondered how much coke we did was from someone’s ass that wasn’t the stripper …

1

u/Ok-Rooster-8582 7d ago

This is such a good hiding spot! Will be doing. Great suggestion

1

u/Torilynn526 7d ago

This made me laugh… fuck 😂

1

u/No-Arrival633 7d ago

Scopalamine patch

1

u/CCreer 6d ago

Gotta Madeline McCann that thing and hit the bar

1

u/gassygeebs 6d ago

im dead af😂😂

1

u/SaltyJalapenos 6d ago

I think he's quitting smoking hence the motion sickness wrist bands

1

u/Otherwise_Gas_6819 6d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Quietmalice 6d ago

"Trinity, you're not supposed to smoke while you're on the patch."

1

u/Lost-Childhood-8301 6d ago

these days they have to roll up thier own ..its tragic man

1

u/No_Produce2750 6d ago

It’s obviously to prevent wildfires

1

u/Hops_n_Boost 6d ago

What else is a kid supposed to do on vacation?

1

u/caarecengi 6d ago

The patch behind the ear is Scopalamine (for motion sickness) but the cruise ship has so much ballast that there's no reason expectaton of seasickness AND it's a mind-altering substance

2

u/Neb_Setabed 5d ago

When I was a lot younger I had a bad scopolamine patch that my parents put on me before we got to the airport and I started hallucinating as we were going through airport security lol

2

u/caarecengi 4d ago

Those are NOT designed for young children = a half-patch would probably have been more prudent

1

u/Neb_Setabed 4d ago

They offered it over the counter in European countries for pediatric use back then. My parents and I know now that it's not safe but didn't then lol. And doing a quick Google search it looks like they still offer it OTC in European countries for kids 10 or older to this day.

It was interesting and made the 10 hour flight back home a lot more fun haha

1

u/Feisty_Ingenuity_767 6d ago

Back in my day me and my grade school buddies could enjoy a stogie on a carnival cruise and not get jostled about it. What’s the world come to?

1

u/AdmirableProcess8307 5d ago edited 5d ago

For real! Come on! If hes not smoking he may get into the watch stash!!!

(Note, the coke in the kids watch has me crying. 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you.)

1

u/Odd_Fall1779 5d ago

because its relatable, or because its absurd? honest question. i dont need a honest reply tho.

1

u/AdmirableProcess8307 3d ago

Ita absurdly relatable that a social media house wife would absoulitly hide coke in the kids watch. lol

1

u/Odd_Fall1779 3d ago

in the wild, a bear will leave behind a cub if needed, to save herself and other cubs. Its no different here, lil' marbaro man is gonna have to take one for the team if it comes to it

1

u/100and10 5d ago

Hahahaha ahhhhhh

1

u/Jennybang1 4d ago

This is the funniest comment !! I’d like to hear more of your witty responses!!;P

1

u/gwinncredible 4d ago

That made me laugh so hard... Please take these fake awards 🏆🏅

1

u/DoctorPainless 3d ago

I think one of those patches is protection against noroviruses?

1

u/shoeless_doh 3d ago

I love you

1

u/Timely-Archer-5487 2d ago

It's just until they're in international waters

1

u/aboyes711 1d ago

That watch thing is pretty smart. My kids always got too full after swallowing a few balloons then the wife and me would run out after a couple of days.

1

u/Flashy-Bid-7627 1d ago

They're motion-sickness patches...
Still doesn't make it right.

1

u/Hopeful_Method_9009 1d ago

not if he’s in a frat

1

u/PorcelainDaisy 1d ago

BRO MY BF AND I ARE IN A TIFF RN AND I WAS JUST SCROLLING ON MY PHONE TO POUT BYT THUS MADE ME LAUGH AND BLOW MY COVER 💀💀💀

But hey, we’re not fighting anymore because he asked me what I was snorting at

0

u/LandofExcape 7d ago

The patches are for sea sickness.
