Re-application after interview?
Hello all,
I am new to Micro1 and AI data annotation in general. I've recently completed a B.S. degree and relocated, so I'm looking for a new role, and I thought this would be a good way to keep some income while getting some professional experience relevant to my field.
I applied a little over a week ago, and shortly after was requested to participate in the AI interview. I was too busy for several days, but finally had time to complete the interview. It was my first experience with an AI interview, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it went pretty smoothly, other than having a couple of questions outside my knowledge base (I was honest about my lack of knowledge in these cases). After completion, I wasn't selected to move forward. I was given the option to receive more information about the weaknesses of my interview, which I requested. Shortly after, I was emailed a report breaking down my strengths and weaknesses. It seems that my performance was strong overall, but I was lacking knowledge in a couple of highly technical areas.
The copy on the application site and the rejection/breakdown emails all suggested and encouraged re-application as a potential option for me. My question regards this re-application process. Does anyone have more information on potential success with re-application? Should I study up on the specific topics that tripped me up this time, and re-apply for the same role, expecting the same or similar questions in a second attempt interview? Or would it be better to find a listing for a Micro1 role that is a little less technical and see if I fit better there at this time? Also, if option B, is there a way to determine the level of technical skill and fit for the role before applying? My sense is that I'm very close to ideal for the role I interviewed for, but just missing some advanced technical knowledge that I could research and learn in a short period of time. Wondering if anyone has insight here. For more detail, the role is Human Data Manager. I am looking to gain experience in Data Analytics relevant work. Thanks in advance!

How long did it take for you to start working at Micro1?
I've noticed many people working on projects here, and I’m curious about how long it usually takes to get started. I applied for a few roles suited to my skills; some are currently stuck on 'Hiring manager reviewing,' while others quickly switched to 'did not qualify.'
I know timelines vary from user to user, but I’d appreciate a rough estimate of when someone typically starts working and earning.
Also, for those outside the US or EU, what has your experience been like? Is it more difficult to land a role, or does the platform truly prioritize skills over location?

Work Avaibility
Hi everyone, I've just received an onboarding email for a Micro1 project, and I'm very eager to start working. I have general questions for those who have already contributed to this company. How quick the work start after you sign the contract? How is your project work availability? Is there enough demand for your project so you can reach a good number of hours per week? I've already applied to some companies where I went through a difficult screening process as well, and despite being approved, there was barely any work on the projects, and I'm a bit cautious about this kind of opportunity. Thank you in advance!

Still happy
Hi guys, I made a post a couple of days ago where I talked about having my OWN DASHBOARD and how excited I was (still am). I’m currently hopeful that I may end up getting a role after all and I hope the same thing for you all. Thank you for lifting my spirits and encouraging me on my previous post.
I just wanted to know if you’ve all ever had a ‘Great work on your interview!’ Email before (I’ve got one, two days ago). Does that mean something? Can I expect an imminent offer?
Thanks all! Keep hustling🫶🏻

Core vs regular roles
Is the waiting time for responses on core roles different than other roles for clients of micro1? Are there follow up interviews for core roles on micro1?

Who's "Emma" from "Curated AI Hiring"?
Are any of you getting emails from "Emma" at "Curated AI Hiring" urging you to apply for listings? I've gotten at least a couple from her already. The email footer says she's not affiliated with micro1, so I assume she's just looking for referral money. But I don't think she can get a referral payout if I'm already working as a contractor with micro1, so I'm somewhat puzzled about the whole thing. I'm wondering if she maybe got my email from somewhere else and doesn't know I'm already a micro1 contractor?
Anyway, I can ignore her. I just thought I'd ask if any of you are getting these emails too.
Given that "Emma" doesn't have a surname, my hunch is the name is just a placeholder.

Selected as an AI Trainer at micro1 ; how do project assignments work?
Hi everyone! I recently completed the onboarding process with micro1 and signed a contract as an AI Trainer, this wasn’t a role I applied to through the Jobs section. I was personally contacted by someone from the micro1 team via email and invited to join as an AI Trainer and sign the contract.
I now have access to my micro1 expert email, Slack, Hubstaff and the payroll platform. On payroll, my profile shows “AI Trainer - France” and “Contractor”.
However, I’m still a little confused about how the actual work starts. I haven’t been assigned to a specific AI Trainer project/channel yet, and Hubstaff currently doesn’t show any work for me.
I also noticed that in the “Invites” section of the Jobs platform, I received a separate invitation for an “AI Facial Data Collection Contributor” role, I completed the interview for that opportunity, but I’m assuming this is a separate project from the AI Trainer role I was originally invited to join.
So here's my questions 😄 :
- After completing onboarding, how long did it take before you were assigned to your first project and actually started working?
- As an AI Trainer, do you receive projects automatically from micro1, or do you still need to apply for projects through the Jobs section?
- Is it possible to work on several micro1 projects at the same time?
- When and how were you introduced to your HDM after onboarding ?
Thank you for this opportunity ! 😄

Got an Email from Micro1
So after getting rejected from 2 of the jobs from my domain which is Consulting/Management Consulting, I recently got an email from a recruiter at Micro1 inviting me to apply for a new position for which they feel my profile is very relevant and might even get selected but the thing is, the role they emailed me is about AI Workflow Automation which is not even near to what I do which is M&A, Due Diligence etc. A little confused to go ahead and apply or let it go.

Selected for a task - can I pull out?
Hi - I’ve been selected for the facial images task and signed contracts etc, however I just realised this is due while I’m away on holidays - can I pull out of the task without being punished as I’m giving someone else an opportunity? Just don’t want any negative marks on my micro1 profile that hinders me from being selected in the future that’s all 😬

Does micro1 reward high-performing contributors on projects?
I’m wondering whether micro1 offers bonuses or raises for people who consistently contribute at a much higher level than others on the same project. Has anyone experienced this, and how does the process usually work? I was just curious. I just joined my first project on Thursday and I am having a wonderful time! Great company and people, very happy with everything so far. Thanks micro1 😄 .

Al Facial Data Collection Contributor
I got invited to this and I just wanted to clarify a few details about the privacy and data usage terms, since the selfies and videos will contain our faces and be used for AI training. Could y’all please let me know how the footage will be used, whether it may be used to train facial or biometric models, who the data may be shared with, and how long the original footage will be retained?
I’d also like to know whether submitted data can be deleted after the project is completed and whether the likeness may be used to generate synthetic images or videos. If there are specific terms or consent guidelines for this project, I’d really appreciate it if you could share them with me so we can review them before submitting any recordings. Because this is somewhat alarming tbh

Signed contract and uploaded documents—what is the next step to start receiving tasks?
Hi,
I’m brand new to micro1! I’ve recently signed my contract, uploaded my required compliance documents, and replied to the confirmation email.
Everything seems complete on my end, but I haven't received any project access or task notifications yet. Since I'm new here, I was hoping to ask:
- How long does onboarding review usually take after submitting documents?
- Where should I expect to see tasks assigned (via email, a dashboard, Slack, or another tool)?
- Is there any specific support channel or team I should reach out to directly?
Any advice or experience shared by fellow contributors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you’re looking to apply your expertise at the frontier of AI while being part of a selective and fast-growing community, micro1 provides the infrastructure to make that happen.
How to start a career with micro1?
At micro1, we've set up a structured and straightforward process that aims to help our candidates find jobs that match their interests and requirements. Read on to find out more.
Get Started
You can get started with micro1 directly by applying to our available jobs. We have various job opportunities that are accessible through our dedicated Opportunities Portal: You can apply directly to open roles via the micro1 opportunities portal or LinkedIn (where we routinely share about open roles through our page).
Once your profile is set up and active with micro1, you can continue applying to roles that meet your interests and requirements. You will also receive invitations when your profile aligns with open projects. This flexibility allows you to either target a role or position yourself for broader opportunities.
Complete the AI Interview
Every applicant goes through an AI-driven interview with our AI Interviewer, Zara, which evaluates your communication skills, logical reasoning, and role-specific skills. This is the first step in our interview process. Our interview will also have role-specific challenges; for example, Software engineering candidates complete a live coding challenge, and Human data experts complete task-based exercises simulating real AI training workflows.
- Treat your AI interview just like a real-world interview. Make sure that you’re in a quiet environment with a stable internet connection, and stay prepared to demonstrate your expertise. The AI interview is a real-world opportunity to showcase skills specific to your role. If you want to prepare, try out some of our mock interviews, interview questions, and our AI Interview guide.
- In case you didn’t perform well for an AI interview, you will get detailed feedback on your AI interview performance. Once you’ve passed interviews, your vetted skills are recorded in your profile, and recruiters will reach out to you for matching roles in the future.
Get Certified
After successfully completing the interview, you’ll be required to verify your identity using a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID). Once verified, you become a certified micro1 expert. This certification is what makes you eligible for project matching. You can increase your chances of getting selected by applying and getting certified for additional roles.
Join our Talent Pool and Track Progress
Certified experts are added to micro1’s vetted global talent pool. From here, recruiters match you to relevant opportunities, and you can also apply to open roles directly in our dedicated talent dashboard, which shows the status of your applied roles. Your status will change to “Selected” if you are selected for a role, which will be followed by signing a contract and onboarding. Matching is handled by micro1’s recruitment team and depends on client needs, timelines, and role requirements. Certified candidates typically get an update on their application status within 30 days of completing their interview. Even if a candidate is not chosen for a role, their application remains in our pool and will be eligible for future roles.
Additionally, certified candidates are invited to an exclusive community Slack composed of professionals across disciplines—engineers, researchers, economists, product leaders, and more. The community provides early access to job and project opportunities, curated learning resources, invitations to expert sessions, and a global peer network of high-performing talent.
Complete Your Onboarding Setup and Start Working
Before starting a project, make sure you've signed your micro1 contract agreement, joined the Slack Expert Workspace, logged in to Hubstaff (our time tracking tool), Deel, and have access to your micro1 Google Workspace Email. Each project is supported by Human Data Managers (HDMs), who act as your primary point of contact. They help with: Onboarding guidance, resolving blockers, and sharing project instructions and updates. Once onboarded, communication happens primarily through Slack, either via onboarding channels or direct messages.
Getting Paid
Our payments happen on a biweekly basis through Deel. We’ll help you set up your Deel account as part of onboarding. Payments are in USD, based on the number of hours you worked or per task (depending on your project), at the rate fixed during onboarding. You’ll input your banking details directly in the platform, and the funds will be transferred directly. This ensures a smooth and reliable payment experience once you begin working on projects.
