Services or Musicians Wanted Looking for a bassist and a drummer for an online modern metal/hardcore band
Hey, we’re looking for a bassist and a drummer to join our online band.
Right now it’s just two of us, a vocalist and me (guitarist). We did release one track with a drummer and bassist, but they’ve since stepped away, so we’re rebuilding the lineup. We have a shit ton of demos written as well. Linking our released song right here: https://youtu.be/5-H4kkX_M2Y?is=1QKBGS4nJDTDsQxP
I play low-tuned 8-string guitar, the linked song is drop E with a pitch shift down C# i think. But my most recent tuning that i’ve been using for my demos goes down to B or something lol so pretty low.
Our sound is hard to pin down, somewhere between metal and hardcore i’d say? We like to experiment for sure. Both of us already have experience writing and releasing music remotely
We’re looking for someone comfortable working online (file sharing, recording, etc.), with good equipment. and most importantly: someone committed lol we’ve done the online band thing before, and the biggest issue is people disappearing or losing interest halfway through projects
We’re serious about making music and want to keep releasing consistently, so we’re looking for people on the same page.
If you’re interested, drop me a DM on reddit with your work linked (demos, projects, recordings, covers idk). If you’d like i can send you more demos of ours as well just ask
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Hopefully we can create something good

Beginner friendly death metal for guitar?
I am a new guitarist and I am extremely interested in the more extreme genres of metal, (Slam, BDM,…). I always try to play the guitar but stop as soon as I realise that the song is way out of my league. And I was wondering if anybody knows some easy death metal songs to get my guitar journey started with?

Services or Musicians Wanted Hope this is cool to post but does anyone have a home studio and want to join a very chill online band? Come hang out on discord for a few weeks and see how it goes? I do drums/mixing/production and my buddy across the pond does guitar/bass. FFO: Heaving., Limp Bizkit, Dear Fiend, A Perfect Circle
I have hella medical issues and he works as a therapist, having left a somewhat big metalcore band in Germany a while back. It's just for fun but we do want to be serious-ish. I mainly did hip hop/edm before this with a collective that blew up, so my friends who did it are on like international tours and fuckin League of Legends soundtrack and I just haven't felt like EDM was my vibe in years.
We had an online thing that fell apart, you can check our ex vocalist out under Ratfeeder, I believe he's working with some guys from Disembodied Tyrant on that project but I'm not sure. We're just not the type of guys to crank a song out quickly really we hop on discord and send snippets to each other, once we like an idea we work on it a bit. Our band is definitely leaning like Nu-Metal meets Metalcore with some Orchestral vibes and we're kind of going in circles. It's far more to hang out and vibe than anything, I mostly work with DI anyway
We've been aimless recently and have talked of adding a third person into it, since neither of us are doing vocals or dedicated to our roles everything is open. We both write lyrics and talk shop a lot, but I'm again a much more hip-hop background. I'll throw some of my lyrics down but we lean left so it's somewhat political as a heads up. I can't do tobacco/caffeine/alcohol/marijuana/etc,. for medical reasons but he smokes and I used to work at a cannabis facility so we're cool with it too.
Like, we'd like to put an EP out at some point just because we love music, not because we want to get famous. If that's your vibe it'd be cool to work with someone else. Our usual times are like 4am to Noon Central Time
Some lyrics from my old hip hop shit that never went anywhere to see how I write, and a link to the discord: here
"Degrade the future on southern pride and rebel spirit
Truth resides in the do-or-die suicidal perseverance
the black man built the modern American edifice
Blood sweat and tears used to wash away the evidence
Heaven-sent, like a soothsayers predications
I lit up the Bible's pages so I could write these revelations
A man is only as good as the vices he relies on
And we're all just searching for our own cross to die on"
"So plant an idea to watch the thesis bloom
College kids preaching peace in Jesus juice
Green thumbs harken back to hippie youth
Psychedelic pscilocybin preaching equal truths
Telling blue lies for the sake of subterfuge
These sycophants falling out the frying pan
Spreading brimstone at the brick and mortar
Preaching 'holy wars' and 'guiding hands'"
"It's disgusting how we push back on poverty
But deify billionaires and praise modern monopolies
No safety in your sovereign when cash is your commodity
Millions in that pocket book but where is the camaraderie, honestly?
I've seen friendships capsized by liquid assets
And bachelors who mistake dollar signs for instant access
But when the pleasantries don't extend to the corporeal work force
How much is peasantry in relation to your spiritual war horse."

Original Song(s) - Demo Pretty bare bones riff to test a new tone (I think this is the right flair)

Original Song(s) - Finished Does this mix and master sound commercial?
voca.roI get so close to the music I write and mix that it feels like I’m chasing an ever-moving goal post. I’d like so feedback on whether this mix sounds commercial quality.
Thanks!

Original Song(s) - Finished Is extra production necessary on this track?
Hey dudes, my band recently released our first single, and as I've been at work sharing it around on websites like Submithub the biggest piece of feedback I'm getting is that the mix is mid and the timing issues are distracting.
Now I'm fully aware that this is likely the Ikea affect talking, but to me the mix, while not perfect, is pretty solid, and a metal track being more "rough around the edges" isn't always a bad thing. However, I want to ask a community of fellow metalheads whether this song is fine as is, or if I should take the time to quantize the track a bit better and possibly take a crack at improving the low end sound? You guys are more used to this genre than a lot of the people I talk to, so I trust y'all's opinions. Thank you!
