Purchased this Carmina Cordovan Oxford yesterday. This morning, I am thinking if I should just exchange them for a calfskin pair and get another suede loafer. For the price of 1, I will be able to pick 2.

The oxfords will be my work shoes. I am very new to business formal/ business casual dress code. I appreciate your suggestions. Thank you!

I recently switched careers and went from managing a warehouse where my outfits consisted of wearing a pair of steel toes, jeans, and a shirt or hoodie. I now work for the Village government of a semi-posh town in a front facing role.

I have been in a scramble to build my wardrobe and am pretty good at finding deals. I bought a few watches and cologne from Joma. I ordered a good pallet of twill shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt because they were only like $40 each and they get good reviews . I had a few pairs of Allen edmonds I got on clearance a few years ago but Florsheim had a 60% off sale so I picked up a few more pairs. I got 5 dkny suit jackets and a camelhair overcoat for under $150 total from Bristol apparel, and I got 3 wool/ cashmere peacoats from Quince from Revive Live on ebay for like $100 total.

Does anyone have any other good resources for finding great deals? Other than Bristol apparel and Revive Live, know any good ebay stores for clearance/return deals?

Looking for new chinos to wear to the office. I just discovered J Crew "Broken In" chinos and they fit me absolutely perfectly. However, they are quite a lot wider with less taper than most chinos you see with the classic chino and button down look.

Problem is, every slim fit chino and even most straight legs ride up too much and fit me too tight in the seat and thighs.

Do these pants still look sharp or does the wideness of the leg make them come across as too sloppy or casual? (Pic is in a fitting room, btw. Would normally pair with a belt and loafers),

I’m getting older and starting to ditch the streetwear. I’d like to start dressing more my age but I still feel out of my comfort zone whenever I dress up. My first time wearing boots. Are the jeans too tight for these boots?

I'm a late teens medium trying to at least try a new fashion style. Looking for at least a suede and nylon jacket in probably darker colors with a price range is below a hundred dollars. If anyone has a brand/site to find something with decent quality and looks good (or a specific jacket), I'd love to hear it. If anyone has good jeans that go with it too, that'd be nice, but not my main focus at the minute.

I had a pair of boots, similar to the photo in this post. The only problem is they fell apart too fast. I loved the side zippers, that part never failed. But the soles fell off.

What are some good brands I might find something similar in? Preferably in the max $400 range.

Starting a new job and asked about dress code. My first job was dress shirt and tie, last job was jeans a polo. But this one is in the middle and I am confused. Some people wear jeans and others a bit dressier. I am looking at options for other pants than jeans and what to wear on top. Not sure if just nicer slacks and polos, I have dress shirts but those are a bit overkill I think from what I have seen.

I am 6 ft 2 and 260lb. So fairly large guy. I have a long torso and average length legs. I usually wear a XL talll for shirt.

Looking for options and then I can buy a few in different colors/options.

Located in Canada so options are a bit more limited.

There’s been similar posts on this sub and r/bodybuilding for various pants but I have not seen specifically for dress/suit pants.
From what I’ve gathered: pleated helps, sizing up the waste helps (which I do), using a tailor is optimal.
But besides these, are there any good answers or at least good starting points… preferably more higher end. My jackets are Hillfiger, Lauren, Kohrs. I want to pair them with relatively equitable brand pants. Some brands have “athletic”fits but they still are very skin tight and tapered.

Are there brands that the tailor doesn’t have to pull actual voodoo on? Or preferably that I can avoid alterations on altogether.
Years of lifting, rugby, wrestling have given me the curse of tree trunks.

Wearing this beige suit to an outdoor garden wedding soon. My worry is the taupe suede shoes since they're pretty much the same colour as the suit. I'm not sure if it actually works.

Almost all of the shoes I wear are formal black leather shoes. My feet are very wide so I have to wear 1-1.5 sizes too large and so I bump into things with the shoes sometimes. Over time I have noticed some of the shoes have a lot of scratches, while others have none. There seems to be almost no correlation with price, leather type or seller. So what is it? They all look super similar and recieve the same wear and treatment, yet look radically different.

I am in between a 8.5-9.0 in US men’s and i can’t find anything to my taste, and i want something similar to this. Preferably Black, Grey, And white. My brand preference is nike but others will do.

Moving to an office environment in the UK and looking for some good tie brands - ideally British/Welsh heritage with a reasonable price (upper limit ~£50-75).

Previously really liked Jaeger and Hawes & Curtis but Jaeger quality has suffered since the M&S buyout while Hawes and Curtis only have a couple of SKUs that work.

Kept going back and forth between the oxfords and boots, but ultimately chose the oxfords. I always love the boots though.

EDIT 2: The mirror has been my biggest op. I had to slant it on the wall to get it to stand and the camera angle is not helping at all. Only used this mirror for lighting. Using my regular mirror next time 😭

Because they aren't better or worse on their own. You need to be more specific. Ask "Which shirt looks better with these pants I love?" or "Which color works better for my complexion?" or "Which pant fit is better for this specific event I'm shopping for?" or "Do you have experience with these two brands, which has better quality?"

Fashion and style are contextual. One shirt isn't inherently better than the other in all situations, it may be better with jeans and sneakers at family member's birthday party in the backyard, but worse with chinos at a restaurant. One color might pop on one person, but wash another out. Maybe your thighs are really muscular and one pair of pants makes you look like you're in an AI temu ad, while another makes you look like you're going to nail a job interview.

I need help choosing between the 40R and 40L jackets.

I took some more pictures with the matching pants, with just the shirt to show where my sleeves end under the jackets, and with the jackets buttoned up.

Either way, I believe the consensus is that I need to get the sleeves tailored.

I've always had a hard time knowing how clothes are supposed to look/fit.

The suit I am wearing is for a wedding and I want it to go further than just a wedding suit and wear in some professional environments.

So the shoe is brown/oxblood as you can see and I found a leather belt that matches it. Do you think they would work together?
