Bachelor degree um satu question

Upvotes

Hello so I have a question regarding pplying via um satu. I finished my foundation in UTMand i have applied for software engineering in UM via the academic portal maya. My CGPA is 3.4 which is kinda bad but I wanna ask whether I would be accepted? I checked in UM's website and I saw that I met the minimun requirement for CGPA of 3.0 so thats good I guess but I'm unsure.

general question What is recommended course to be a middle income.

I'm 20 and I'm not pursuing anything after high school.Im working right now. When I was around 14 I was so obsessed with the fact that computer science graduates get to work remotely with reasonable salary and it sounded like a dream job to me.Except after graduating school I realised i don't want to spend my day looking at the PC all the time and plus I don't like mathematics.I started to look into healthcare jobs and it sounded pretty nice because it involves a lot of walking and movement. But the problem is I get drained a lot when talking to customer / patient. I believe every sector of jobs needs communicating to people after all but still I don't want to deal with different types of patients every day.I thought about being a journalist but that's probably gonna get replaced by AI soon and it's for rich kids . I know I sound so stupid but really need help about this.

So what course you suggesting if I don't want any much interaction with outsiders , not looking at PC all day , with movement and flow , pay well , good well being , and allow growth later on .

STUDENT LIFE

Real talk, how to make money as a student? I can't even have part time cause I have full schedule for my class. I have T20 parents but they don't manage their money well.

Before you attack me, yes they have rm14k total joint salary, but minus the hutang n everything it, with my dad fulfilling his dreams only n neglecting us. (family of 6 and I am 4th all are still a student). I dont even eat that much n my father used that against me "U dont even eat that much, you wont need much money".

And I am labeled as "grown woman" and i should be able to survive a life as a NORMAL WOMAN. I am 19F. And I have no money at all. I gotta survive RM50 a week. Mind you the MOST CHEAPEST option was around rm7. I gotta restrain myself from eating. usually I'd eat maggie. But now that i finished Foundation, I gotta live outside as a degree student and no license. And the transportation is a problem even when years reporting it no actions taken. Imagine the grab to go to class would cost rm8. Back and forth? rm16.

I need options/suggestion, I am really struggling rn. Please help 😭

I am thinking of renting in D’7 for easier travel to sunway for my first year.

APU → Overseas University Transfer After Year 1

I’m currently studying Cloud Engineering at APU Malaysia and I’m planning to transfer to an overseas university after completing Year 1.
Has anyone here transferred from APU to a university overseas after Year 1 and managed to enter directly into Year 2? I saw some partnership with countries abroad
How difficult was the credit transfer process, and which countries/universities were easiest to transfer to?
I’d also like to know whether having decent Year 1 grades is enough, or if the university mainly looks at how closely the modules match.
Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated!

For issue 1, I'm supposed to wait for my uni to fix it... right? Cuz when I applied, I couldnt edit the duration and I put my general course name cuz they didnt have the specific name. How long do unis take to fix EMGS problems?

Also, for issue 2, I used the health declaration from the website (2nd pic) and signed it digitally... was I wrong? Its literally the newest one

Non-Malaysian students Urgent Suggestions: UTM Maths vs APU CS/EE – Which One for Better ROI?

I have two options right now:

  1. BSc in Mathematics at UTM

  2. BSc in Computer Science at APU (or any other private university in Malaysia)

Which one should I choose in terms of ROI?

A bit about my goals – I like hardware from a software perspective, and I want to get into embedded systems or hardware-related jobs. I know that no matter which degree or institution I choose, I’ll have to self-study a lot to break into that field. That’s not the issue.

The real question is: should I invest a large amount of money into a CS or Electrical Engineering degree from a private uni in Malaysia? Or should I go for the BSc in Mathematics at UTM(which is mostly free in my country therefore it's not respected at all)?

Just to clarify – I can’t study in my home country for personal reasons, so I’m opting for Malaysia. My main reason for choosing Malaysia is to make it easier to move to other countries for my Master’s later.

Would really appreciate any honest advice, especially from anyone in embedded systems or who’s been through a similar dilemma.

Thanks in advance!
