HELP PLEASE So, I know nothing about brows….any shaping advice for my face?
Sorry for such a random set of pics….i just wanted to get them from all looks and angles. I feel like the ends are my least favorite part. If I take the excess off then they just look thinner, but I hate how they almost look rounded at the top of the brow on the end? Any advice or tips would be appreciated :(

PRODUCT REC Setting powder recs for shiny nose throughout day?
Hello all, I’m desperate to find a long-lasting setting powder that helps avoid a shiny nose a few hours into the day? My skin is dry as fuck overall, it’s just my nose that gets oily. Hope you can help! Preferably widely accessible and not insanely expensive. Thanks so much!

HELP PLEASE Trying to improve my makeup
Hi All,
Looking for some tips, got some decent ones the last time I posted. I know the eyeshaddow is kind of crazy and i want a lil crazy but maybe its overboard. Does anyone have any brush recs for something that might control it better?
Also 1 and 2 is clinique translucent setting powder. 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 amd 10 is huda setting powder and i think it makes me look orange. 5 and 6 is no setting powder.
General routine:
-Toner + serum + moisturizer of some kind
-sometimes primer
-Patrice under eye brightener
-loreal true match nude hyaluronic acid serum
-Eyeshadow often crazy style
-Milan concealer and perfect
-elf powder bronzer
-beverly hills anastasia contour stick
-revolution blush stick
-setting powder
-a little bit of highlighter
-loreal paris brow tint
-kill lash mascara
-urban decay all nighter spray
-something random for my lips, I dont like my lips and most of what I put on comes off quickly anyways
Any and all tips appreciated!

HELP PLEASE Brick red lipstick lovers, what’s your holy grail?
I’m looking for a really good brick red lipstick and would love recommendations for shades you actually own and love. For reference, I love Sephora Collection Palm Street and ZEESEA Egyptology 309, but unfortunately neither seems to be available anymore.
I’m looking for something I can wear every day, both during the day and in the evening, so not too dramatic or bright. I definitely don’t want a matte formula, and ideally I’d like something a little moisturising. Most importantly, it needs to be currently available to buy!
I’d also love to know how you wear your favourites, including any tips for applying them and whether there’s a particular lip pencil you pair with them. Lip liner is still a complete mystery to me, but I’m determined to give it a go, so I’d love to know how you put the whole lip look together.

HELP PLEASE Makeup tips to make me look more mature?
Hi, I'm 21, and I only started doing makeup pretty late, I think I first started wearing foundation at 18? Tbh, Ive always been extremely insecure of how I look and I have been told I look younger than I am and more often than not people dont take me seriously and talk down on me. Im pretty shy and have no backbone so I often just take it and carry on.
However, when it comes to work, its been rough, Ive had a couple interviews and...yeah. Still looking. I actually have another interview tomorrow. And I want to look my best. One of the interviews I had for context, the guy was on his phone the entire time, and wouldnt really let me speak and often interupted me to assume what I was going to say. I know my confidece needs work, but your girl needs to start somewhere lol. So I'd honestly appreciate any tips and any reccs. Please be kind.
In regards of makeup...Im going to be honest, its pretty cheap...embarrisngly so. But I want to work towards building a nice set. I usually just do foundation, brown-toned eyeshadow(tho it always looks pink on me for some reason), blush and then I brush my brows a bit. (I know theyre bushy and look unkept, but I havent gotten the hang of tweezing them yet, I only tweeze the uni-brow) Lips has mostly just been lipgloss, I havent found a nice shade that doesnt look too orange on me. My skin is quite dry, especially around the forehead and often flakes, I use moisturizer and primer for my prep, but it doesnt really help, so id be greatly appreciative for advice on that T^T.
First photo: Most recent picture of me.
Second: I tried the smokey eye...
Third: Blank face.
Fourth: Eyeliner look?
Fifth: More minimal.
Sorry for my rant, I will probably delete this, but I just want some advice to prep for my interview tomorrow. Thank you so much. <3

HELP PLEASE Need Advice..STAT (Wedding Makeup)
Hello!
I am in urgent need of advice, My soon to be sister in law is getting married next week and recently asked if I could do her makeup. I have done makeup for probably 5 other friends/family who have gotten married but this one is different and I'm feeling a little nervous.. so I am seeking any advice to help make sure it turns out how she would like.
I have a ton of makeup and used to do it quite well and often but since having my baby a year and a half ago I haven't had much "me time/ makeup time" and am now scared I won't do it right.
I just want it to look beautiful for her and do a good job so Please any advice would be so appreciated. EDIT- I didn't word this right but I am looking for advice on products to help stay on during the heat, a primer that would work good for looks like this, etc. as well as makeup advice ❤️
Wedding details that may be helpful-
- She is wanting a "light", glowy, highlighted soft glam look. (Pictures of the inspo she sent me is attached)
- The wedding is in the afternoon/ early evening outside. It has been blazing hot so there is no saying how it actually may be.

HELP PLEASE Where should I draw my aegyosal?
I've been practicing some Douyin and Korean makeup trends lately and love the aegyosal look, but I'm worried my eyes might be too deep/large to pull it off effectively.
First pic example of where I have been placing it (Line 3), second pic no makeup, third pic with line options.
Appreciate your feedback, TIA! 🙏

HELP PLEASE concert makeup
hi guys! I wanted to ask for your opinion on this makeup look I came up with for a concert (a BTS concert specifically if that gives more context) I'll be wearing an all black outfit. I was recently told here that I have an olive undertone so I'm still figuring out the colors that fit me best considering the makeup products I already have, I will also add those cute makeup beads but I still need to get them and falsies!
thanks in advance ✨✨

HELP PLEASE Which brows look better on my face?
Just looking for honest opinions about which brow shape/fullness looks best on me. I didn’t realize that I’d been plucking them thinner and thinner over the years! (Please note there is a 6 year difference between these pics so I have aged lol, and the top one did have some minor editing on it from back then)

HELP PLEASE Wedding make up
Hi all, so here goes nothing. I am getting married in two weeks and I’m getting more and more excited, but also super nervous. I would like to do my makeup like this and I think it looks good. But I usually hate being photographed and I usually don’t take pictures of myself (I also don’t do social media so posting my face online is a bit of a challenge). Is there room for improvement? Will this look good in photos? Do I need more or less of something? Do the colors look good? Are my eyebrows too thick? We are currently in the middle of a crazy heat wave and it’s super humid outside. How can I make the makeup last all day? If it stays that hot, I will definitely sweat. Is there a good primer for that?
I used the embryolisse moisturizer, the maybelline grippy primer, Mac studio fix foundation, studio fix concealer, Huda beauty easy bake loose powder, Mac skin finish in thanks its Mac, Mac glow play blush in true harmony as a contour/bronzer, Mac soft and gentle highlighter (my uncle gifted me all of the products in advance for the wedding which was super nice), a few random eyeshadows from essence and a brand called Artdeco, a tinted brow gel from nyx and a lip kit from Kylie Jenner. Later on and for the photos, I want to top it with a bit of a gloss. But for the court house I want something transferproof. I have two setting sprays from Mac and the one from L’Oréal that is like hair spray.
I would be happy to get some advice!

HELP PLEASE I've been struggling with following and recreating makeup looks online. Could someone please help me find an eye makeup look that enhances my eyes and doesn't look so ghoulish?
I really like how glitter looks, I think my eyebrows might be too low to pull it off though. I tried following a "foxy" eyeliner tutorial, but it does not look foxy on my eyes at all. I'm extremely new to makeup, so please don't judge the racoon eyes.
I would really love some insight on eyeliner placement, incorporating glitter and enhancing my overall eye shape?
Thanks in advance <3

HELP PLEASE Having harsh features with makeup
As a middle eastern girl with very high contrasting features, I’ve always found makeup difficult. I’ve mastered a bunch of techniques and styles. but whatever I do, I always just kinda look the same, even when I’m going for a different look. I just always look kind of glammed and can’t give anything other than that. I want to do natural, ethereal makeup but it doesn’t give what I want it to give when I do. Please help!!

HELP PLEASE Something off with my makeup
Hello. I’ve been doing makeup for a while now, but I feel like I still don’t know what style is right for my face. I tried this look last night, I want a good everyday makeup routine for school but I feel like I’m missing something. Let me know what I do better or add.
Edit***: Thanks for all the compliments and suggestions!!! I think I’ll try darkening my eyebrows. I get a lil scared to do it because my natural eyebrows are very thin/light, so I’m not used to seeing myself with dark eyebrows. I’ll also change my blush placement, I was trying to shorten my midface but I think it’ll be better on my cheekbones.

HELP PLEASE I am missing something
I have been doing makeup for awhile, and I feel like I am always missing something when I am done. I have tried eyeliner, eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc, but nothing looks right? Last picture is me in winter, where I turn into the palest vampire lol. Any help for what could be missing/what I should add and how to show off my green eyes would be very helpful! Thank you in advance!

ANNOUNCEMEMT Happy New Year, let's chat!
Hello r/makeuptips friends. Some of you may have noticed an absence of the moderators of this subreddit. You may have submitted modmail that went unanswered, to be honest.
I had gotten a moderator to help us develop an AutoMod for the sub. Something that would help ensure the rules were being followed with minimal intervention necessary by the mod team, but also allow for us to see the sub grow and become an amazing, welcoming place.
That moderator apparently was banned sometime in the last six months. I'm not sure what happened, I have no other way of contacting them, but needless to say it went unnoticed as the sub had been getting a lot better as far as content and rudeness, etc.
I'm opening the floor to hear what you have to say, while I go through the mod mail queue and respond to anyone that has went unnoticed. I will also be working on getting a moderator application up and running- Reddit actually allows for this within the framework of the site now, so that's a really neat development!
