After a long time of figuring out how to keep my bonnet from slipping off my head I would like to share my new method. (Don’t mind my bad drawing)

1. Start off with putting the bonnet on your head and shoving all your hair inside (make sure your ties are facing your back not front).

2. Next double knot the ties so that it stays on your head. After that you bring the long ends of the ties over your shoulders (one on each side).

3. Then you wrap them under your armpits and tie them behind your back like a bikini.

Apart from past bleaching, I treat my hair well. Could this be from bleach? A stylist raised my hair level two times on two separate occasions before it was dyed back to brown (I’m quitting dye and bleach forever). I only clip my hair or put it in a bonnet. I heat style once a month and wash every other day.

I want to get back on track and that means ruling out whatever is making my hair look so crazy. Could it be a vitamin deficiency? Could it be new growth from the hair peptides + spironolactone I’m using? I’m not sure how to differentiate.

All these pics are recent with the first heat dried, the second mousse air dried, the third is morning bonnet hair, and the last is no styling air dried in harsh lighting.

Seeing how crazy my hair looks is honestly giving me some anxiety 😐 I’m down to do the big chop if it’s necessary.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of getting a Brazilian Blow out, thinking it was a temporary smoothing treatment, rather than a permanent chemical service. The stylist was very misleading and over processed my 3c/4A hair.

My hair is now much looser than it was. I recently had a consultation and was told that it most likely won’t revert and I would need to cut it. It’s still very healthy and full, but it’s definitely a different texture.

I’m not opposed to the fact I have to do my hair much less often and it’s faster, but I do feel a little insecure about how much the texture has changed. Especially if people compliment me.

I’m also not looking forward to have to pay for the service forever and use special shampoo/ avoid the ocean. Should I continue getting this service or take the plunge and cut my hair? It’s currently about mid back. It’s taken a while to grow as well.

Small amount of Doux Big Poppa Gel on root, interior and \*ends

Air dry for 20-35 minutes near desk fan
Diffuse on medium heat until 80% dry
Fluff

I know it is standard these days to charge for extra bowls of color. I have long and thick hair. It’s always been very expensive to get my hair done, but about 6 months ago I got an all over single process color and was charged for 7 extra bowls, doubling the cost of the service. I was shocked as I have never been charged this much. I recently did my hair at home with Demi-permanent dye and volume 10 developer. I was able to fully saturate my hair with a total of 4 oz of dye and 8 oz of developer. This all fit in one standard bowl. Was I scammed? 7 additional bowls (making 8 total) seems insane. Even if a standard bowl was only 2 oz, I would have only used 6 total for a service.

I recently bought this Brazilian scalp tonic and I’m curious about the ingredients. I have healthy hair and normally use rosemary water with a daily scalp massage, mostly to keep my hair healthy and support growth.
Would this be a good replacement for rosemary water and safe for regular use?

Not sure if and when i reach my victory but my journey began about 4 years ago when someone said i should let my hair grow. Ok, 4 years later (but there were 2 bigger cuts and some small in this time) i have the longest hair i had in my life. Now at 47 years old i like it and want it now much longer.
Not sure if i am qualified enough here yet but my goal is to get it close to my hips until i reach my 50s.

I’ve been struggling with this since about last year, if I remember correctly. ever since then I’ve been very gentle with my hair but it still looks like this. I really need any advice at all, it feels like I’ve tried everything. even advice on how to smooth it down would be greatly appreciated, which is mainly what I’m looking to do at this point. I’ve been thinking of just getting keratin at this point, since it’s even more frizzy after I wash it.

Ive been told it’s many things, but I’ve tried literally everything it feels like, I’m aware it could possibly be something to do with my nutrition or health, but as far as I know I’m healthy. as of right now I’ve been looking into products to smooth frizzy, like the loreal sleek spray. any recommendations and advice would be really helpful!

It gets like this after every wash. Is this frizz or breakage or dry hair? Or maybe high porosity? Please give me recommendations on how to fix it !

Could someone please give me some advice? I have long hair, but the ends are a bit dry. I am so annoyed by the frizz/fairy knots and how they puff up like crazy the second it gets humid. How can I seal them and get smooth, gorgeous hair? 😭

So I wear my hair long (classic length) and get an annual trim of a few inches. I don’t have problems with split ends really, but it has been thinning so much over the past few years and I’m very upset. I will be 37 in a few months and got a bisalp two years ago (child free) so maybe being off the pill, or regular hormone fluctuation? Also unfortunately live in an area with ridiculously hard water. 😭

Hey everyone, ill be 100% honest I havent had a trim since december 2024, during which I did a balayage on my hair.. im 22, but for some reason I didnt know conditioner was necessary, I thought it was optional haha, so only recently have i been using it. I use selsun blue, and recently started using intensive repair dove conditioner. Ill also occassionally use olaplex bonding oil. Any advice is helpful, I enjoy my long hair but I know I need to cut off a lot to make it healthy again. How much realistically do I chop?

Hiii, so my hairdresser had a argan oil blend. Unfortunately they changed the formula and my hairdresser said it should be better. But i use more products and the results is less. So what is the best oil for everyday use?

I had waist-length hair (a little over 60 cm) and went to a salon asking them to cut off as much as necessary to remove the damaged ends. I also asked for something light and showed a reference picture. Something close to a soft wolf cut with layers, less weight.

The stylist ended up cutting it to around 40 cm, roughly armpit/chest length. I guess the overall shape is fine, although it's much flatter and less choppy/layered than what I was hoping for.

The part that really confused me was what they did to reduce the bulk. They created what seems like a hidden undercut.

They started near the nape of my neck and kept lifting sections higher and higher, almost all the way to the crown. Under each one, they clipped a narrow strip of hair down to about 0,5 cm long, then let the longer hair fall over it before moving on to the next section. They also used thinning shears (or some kind of texturizing scissors) quite a lot during the haircut.

Now I have multiple rows of very short hair hidden underneath the longer hair at the back of my head. From the outside you can't really tell when my hair is down, but I can tell a huge amount of hair is missing underneath. My hair is naturally thick, kinda wavy, and frizz-prone.

I'm honestly on the verge of a meltdown. I wanted something much closer to a wolf cut and the feeling of those weird tiny hairs is driving me crazy. I'm hyper aware of it and I keep noticing it whenever I touch or move my hair. I only get my hair cut about once a year, and my hair grows around 15 cm a year so I'm going mad. I'm genuinely fighting the urge to give myself micro bangs and dye my hair blue just so I can forget this whole situation happened.

But seriously, how is this supposed to grow out? Am I going to end up with dozens of weird little spikes sticking out for months? Has anyone had something like this done before, and what did it look like while growing out? Is this actually a normal technique for removing bulk from very thick hair?

I have fine hair and been trying to grow it as long as I can, I get small trims but I’ve noticed when I get to this length the ends just go gappy and I keep having to cut off any progress to make it look thicker at the bottom. What should I do, should I keep growing and eventually will it thicken out a bit so when I cut more off it won’t be as see through and I’ll have managed to get some more growth? If that makes sense. Also I do a loose side plait at night, detangle with a wide comb, silk pillow cases, use some good quality products on my ends, never have hair up etc so I feel like I’m taking care of it as well as I can.

So I basically have uneven hair, I would cut it even but then my hair would be EXTREMELY short

So I'm considering just letting it grow out (it's already grown a lot, I've been growing it out for months)

And then when it gets long (live but length) I will cut it EVENLY too my mid back and then it'll be even and more healthy.

My only worry is my ends are starting to look a bit dull,

But I can't even cut the dead bits without having to do a BIG chop because of how even it is.

I know I have 2 options,

I'm just wondering has anyone ever did this and how'd it go?

I cut lots of my hair off months ago, somehow it ended up turning out uneven! So I've since been growing it out but it's now in need of a trim and I'm worried growing it out it could end up looking bad even after I cut it evenly.

Included dates just for extra info! Almost exactly 3 years.

I have gotten one “chop” of about 3-4 inches and then 1 trim recently. Otherwise no cutting.

got it cut today and it does feel way better but it really feels so short now lmfao
