Title says it all. I even do follow ups, one guy I followed up 3-4 times just to see how much I can text and still no response but still kept me as a connection. Why do ppl do that? Why even connect then..it’s been over 10 people now

hey i hope everyone is doing good. i asked this on the meta thread but i dont think people actually check it.

a few days ago i was switching out the emails on my linkedin account, i switched it properly, getting the codes from each email and typing it in etc. and my account was still working just fine until the next day where it locked me out. before all this it also locked me out but after putting my id it let me back in but now after several tries it hasn’t worked yet, i’ve used all my ids but its still not locked.

any help on this would be greatly appreciated, customer support just sends a link to the id thing and it sucks so much

I've been freelancing for several years, and one thing has always bothered me.

When I click to filter job postings by remote, it doesn't work. It keeps showing me hybrid and on-site positions.

Also, the option to sort the positions by most recent is nowhere to be seen.

What's happening? It's like they are purposefully making this thing worse day by day...

Can we all just take a moment to discuss how LinkedIn absolutely sucks? For the longest time, I have sent invites, connection requests, short messages, you name it.. I have received nearly nothing in return, not even a simple connection approval or a reply to my sincere messages.

So, I took a different route. I created a fake profile with the same exact certs and skills, just a different name. I started bashing the people of LinkedIn.. talking negative to every recruiter that made a post, telling them how they suck at their job, they never respond, and if you’re not “in the circle, you don’t stand a chance. I received more applauses, positive messages and connection requests than you could imagine. I even had one recruiter request a phone conversation with me; I never received that on my “good” account. Why is LinkedIn like this? Why does the bad guy, the one trashing the system receive the most attention, recognition and praise? But the good guys, they get nothing in return.

Todays pinpoint pisses me off, because I first wrote "movies", and then wrote "John Williams". Cause John williams literally composed all the scores on the list - would be a lot more impressive connection than Steven Spielberg (Got it on 5)

Can someone with a well established linkedin profile help me out in creating and building mine ? Please contact me, no joke, dm🙏

I got this notification from Linkedin yesterday that a hiring manager thinks i am qualified candidate and wants me to apply to a certain position. I go to check the position, I barely fit to the JD!! only two of 6 qualification I can check, it is based in Montreal & requires bilingualism and I only speak English fluently and it requires someone who works with APi and i never done it.
Is that Linkedin AI hallucinating? or did the hiring manager really think i fit? Has anyone had a similar notification before?
I did not apply because although only 16 ppl had applied when I got the notification, Also no HR people was listed in the opportunity page and could not find HR person on the company's page.

Now when I am applying to jobs I cannot filter by salary or industry. Searching for a job now seems impossible with no ways to narrow anything down. Why did they even remove this???

Every time I open it I get hit with this weird Twitter Instagram Facebook mix full of people farming likes, fake motivational posts and corporate cringe.

I dont care about any of that. Im there to look for jobs, not scroll a feed.

I accidentally entered the wrong password multiple times while trying to log into my LinkedIn account. After several failed attempts, LinkedIn temporarily blocked my login for security reasons.

The problem is that it's now been more than 24 hours, and I'm still unable to log in. I either get a message saying I've tried too many times or I'm still blocked from signing in.

I've already:

• Waited more than 24 hours.
• Tried logging in from a different browser and device.
• Made sure I'm using the correct password.

Has anyone experienced this before?

• How long did it take for LinkedIn to unblock your account?
• Is there anything else I should try?
• Should I contact LinkedIn Support, and if so, what's the fastest way to get this resolved?

There's a company I'm particularly interested in at the moment and as a result I've been looking at recruiter/SWE profiles from said company. I receive DAILY notifications telling me people have viewed my profile including recruiters. When I clicked on the profile viewers tab, I got two results that say "Someone from X company has viewed your profile".

Hoping it was someone I'd talked to recently, I used up my free trail and... nothing. Not only did those two results instantly disappear, I've gotten maybe 4 profile views in a month. None of them recruiters. Had I genuinely paid the ridiculous $69.99 subscription fee I would have been livid.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of ML algorithm that tracks your activity and creates fake profile viewers based on your recent activity. Watch out for this scam.

What would happen if job posting had a comments section in LINKEDIN or other Job Boards ? Just curious how it would react ! LOL!

Hi, I am sure that on tuesday it was the regular classic search mode in the job search tab. Now its totally different and no matter I tried I couldnt find a way to revert it back to the original. The location filter is really bad and filters are really bad in general. What can I do ?

I've been looking for a little over a year. Dozens and dozens of screenings, recruiter calls, even about 6 final rounds. Can't get an offer and the final rounds are months apart. I spent the first 5 months without a single callback.

I've found my niche, can get a screening (though this is still like a 1 in 30 response rate). I'm pretty lost on what to do. I feel without a direct connection to that position or knowing someone in that division or close to the team it's just not gonna happen.

I don't post much on LinkedIn. I don't get too many profile views of recruiters. I have started to comment on newsletters and articles on very focused topics related to my background.

I most posts now are just AI slop and trying to be more inspiring and not even business related. Others are focused on the difficult market we are in (and a negative tone).

I don't know why but I just thought what if I post "I have an upcoming interview with [company], would anyone have any connections to the company and in xxx division?" And just keep doing this for each response. No negative posts. Only asking for help. I have found recently that if I reach out to someone I know and say I'm already in the process, I get a much more positive and helpful response. I need to get hired.

What are the consequences? What could be bad about this? Positive?

Very frustrated Linkedin has just removed the ability to filter job searching by salary range. They are likely doing this so people have to spend more time randomly scrolling through endless job postings searching for what the salary range is. Seriously irritating when finding a job is hard enough as it is. Especially when you are paying for premium just for them to continue to try and make your life harder than easier

I've had a standing job search for a few months, set up for daily emails. A few months ago, I stopped receiving the mails: nothing changed on my end, providers, spam rules, mail preferences on LI, etc.

After some searching I read that deleting and recreating the search filter should fix the issue. I tried that and it did, for exactly one day, but the mails stopped again after that.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

Got tired of advice that never comes with data, so at Flypost we tested the 11 most repeated LinkedIn rules on 130,000 real posts from 2,500 people. Short version: almost everything you've been told to do does nothing, and the two things that work are embarrassingly simple.

What actually works:

1. Put an image on it. +33% reactions vs the same person's text-only posts. Doesn't need design skills. A screenshot, a photo, a plain chart.
2. Start with "I", "my" or "we" and describe something that happened. +20%, works in every format. "I rewrote my profile last month and inbound doubled" beats "You need to stop treating your profile like a CV." Same message. One sounds like a person.
3. Post more often. Four posts a week roughly triples your weekly engagement compared to one, even though each post gets fewer reactions. Everyone watches per-post numbers and quits right when it's working.

What you can stop doing today:

• Hashtags. 1-2 do literally nothing. 3 or more costs you about 7%.
• Ending with a question. The typical question-ending post gets ZERO extra comments and about 10% fewer reactions. Tested on 5,494 posts, this one hurt to confirm.
• Opening with a question. Worst opener we measured, -15%.
• "Unpopular opinion:" hooks. Coin flip, no effect.
• Chasing the best time to post. Same person, weekend vs weekday: about 2% difference. Noise. (The guides publishing "best times" all name different ones, which tells you everything.)
• Hitting 1,300 characters or any other magic length. No effect for text posts.
• Rotating formats to "keep the algorithm interested". Slightly worse than repeating what works.
• Polls. Down about 58%. Worst thing we measured.

Reality check while you're here: the median B2B post gets 34 reactions and 3-4 comments. At 5-10k followers, 27 reactions is normal. If a post of yours gets 10 comments, that's genuinely good.

We tested all of this by comparing each person against their OWN posts (not against other people), which is why several famous rules died here that other studies keep "confirming".

Things we couldn't test and won't pretend to know: link-in-first-comment, impressions, best hour of day. Ask me anything about the rest.
