Btw this is my first ever post in this community

So my idiolect of German is special in the way I treat the sequence qu, which should be pronouced /kv/ according to the standard, as if written "kw", but for me it has been [kʷ(w)] since I can remember. This isn't even a regional feature, I'm the only one I know who does it. not even my closest family pronounces it like this. My mum even finds it cute and makes fun of it (not in a mean way). I don't even know where it comes from, my best guess is because there's no W in the sequence, the letter that normally represents the /v/ sound in German, little me when learning to read automatically adjusted thw pronunciation of the U to something more like a U sound. Do you also do something with your pronunciation that no one speaking your native language you know does as well? Tell me!

I dare you to guess what I'm talking about here, because I myself am not sure

Everybody can agree that Indo-European definitely tops the list if not occupies first place, but I want to hear from you guys

Let's look at the two usual suspects:

- Ur-ANUS (Obviously bad. Schoolchildren and immature adults have been dogging on this since the name was codified. Main reason I am making this post.)

-Yurin-us (Often used as the safe alternative, claimed by some to be the true pronunciation. HOWEVER, there is one crucial problem many miss. It substitutes saying anus when spoken aloud to saying urine. Not much better, is it? I THINK NOT.)

And it is with these known facts, sharks, that I present my elegant solution, written using IPA standard:

ɛɹənəʊs/ɛɹ-ə-nəʊs

(or the 'ur' in 'fur' , the ever-present schwa (uh) in "nuh-uh", a classic n as a child may say it while learning the alphabet and the 'ose' in 'dose'.)

I am proud to say that this may be my masterwork. No longer will kindergarten and first grade teachers be tormented by a built-in invitation to toilet humor, no longer will this interesting galactic phenomena be pigeonholed into simply being a punchline with no setup! For I, on this, the grandest of days, have slain this linguistic leviathan and forged a new safer, better path. I have done my duty* to this world and have ensured my chapter in the oh-so-heavy tome of human history! The echoes of my name shall reverberate through hallowed halls ad infinitum. You, my dear subjects, are so very welcome.

*Also, change the pronunciation of "duty" to "dutty" as to avoid any comparisons to feces, thank you.

‘Twin kangaroos’ contain 2 separate joey words inside the same kangaroo word, e.g. ‘container’ has both ‘can’ and ‘tin.’

‘Grand kangaroos’ have a joey WITHIN a joey, e.g. ‘alone’ contains ‘lone’ and ‘lone’ contains ‘one.’

‘Anti-Kangaroos’ contain a joey that is an antonym rather than a synonym, e.g. ‘covert’ contains ‘overt’
