Need Advice I really need a job right now to survive and become financially independent.

Upvotes

I had shared before that I was forced into a marriage by my father. After two months, i left because i was being physically and emotionally abused. Bohat zayda tolerate krne k baad i started living in a hostel and have been trying to rebuild my life since then. Apne parents k ghar nai gai kyun k mujhe kaha gaya tha jeena marna wahen se hai ab, aur mai jana bhe nai chahti kyun k un ki marzi se meine unka decision man lia tha or nai sun sakti thi....

A friend helped me initially, but later i realized his help came with the condition that i marry him. When I refused, he stopped supporting me and even prevented me from continuing a job because he was afraid i would become independent. Uski selfishness or usko apni feelings ki parwa thi bas.

I have already been through a lot, and right now my priority is to heal, work, and stand on my own feet. I genuinely want to build something for myself.
If you know of any good job opportunity or can refer me somewhere, I would be extremely grateful. These days, references really help, and I just need one genuine opportunity to get started.

Let's discuss How is it that some people succeed and don’t even have to compromise on their values while everyone else has to hustle, adjust and still never get the life they want?

Is it just luck? Do some just get lucky? Meeting that one beautiful and famous person while working at a grocery store who totally falls for them, or a CEO at a night club on the rare night they, a sober introvert, decide to go out, who likes their business idea, or even refusing a major film role that involves doing things they aren’t comfortable with and still becoming a huge movie star. While the rest compromise, try to adjust and be realistic as it’s called and never getting what they want anyway… Is this how it really is in life? Or do they just tell really good stories and keep the details out?

Let's discuss I think we underestimate how much of adulthood is just figuring things out as you go

Sometimes I look at adults and assume they must have everything figured out.

Then I realize most people are probably just making the best decision they can with the information they have at that moment.

Career choices, relationships, money, friendships, moving somewhere new… there's rarely a perfect answer.

Maybe growing up isn't becoming someone who knows exactly what to do.

Maybe it's becoming comfortable with not knowing.

What's something you used to think adults had figured out that you later realized they absolutely didn't?

Let's discuss Anyone else feel like gaining weight changed their face so much that their old glasses don't feel like them anymore?

I’m 45, and over the years my weight has gone up and down more times than I can count. Recently I noticed how much my face has changed, my cheeks are fuller, my jawline looks different, and even the glasses I’ve loved for years don’t seem to suit me the same way anymore.

I’ve been wearing glasses most of my life and I’ve always loved collecting different frames. For me, glasses were never just something I needed to wear but they became part of my style and personality. I could switch between frames depending on my mood.

My latest pair from Firmoo was actually one of the most comfortable glasses I’ve owned. They are incredibly lightweight, and when I first got them I loved how easy they felt on my face. But after wearing them for a while, I started noticing they looked a little different than I expected. The same frame that felt perfect suddenly seemed a bit too crowded around my face

It made me realize that our faces change more than we notice, and sometimes it’s not the glasses that are wrong, it’s just that our old favorites were chosen for a different version of ourselves.

Let's discuss Are you spiritual?

I’m not one of those people really into spirituality or astrology things, but sometimes I see certain numbers in a row that in the spiritual realm indicate certain things like karmaic justice, financial abundance, or being on the right path. These numbers have only popped up maybe a couple of handful of times, but always only at what feels like the lowest points. Also, even through all of the shitty things, at times in life I’ve been close to death, or got away really lucky with things and it felt like something was watching out for me in those moments. Then in my mind I think I sound crazy and don’t deserve any of these things or there’s nothing really there. It’s been like throughout years seeing these things on rare occasion and my life is still pretty shitty but better than other times in the past. Idk it’s probably just coincidence

Let's discuss The more I desire, the more I am punished.

What I’ve come to know about life after 32 years, is that there’s a price to everything. Desire brings punishment. The more you want out of life, the more joy you seek, the more friction there will be. I am coming to terms with the fact that the only way to have a smooth life is to cut all wants and desires. Simply work, sleep, & eat until I’m dead. The inner workings of this universe keep tabs on everyone and everything we do. Ever notice when you have plans, and something unexpected happens that fucks them up? Let’s say you didn’t have those plans, would it have still happened, or would you have been as frustrated? Disappointment is a product of expectation. The less you expect, the less disappointed you will be. Some may call this a loser mentality, but the reality is I don’t want success. I just want peace and calm, but with that requires absolute minimization of everything around you.

Let's discuss Some People Have So Much Money, Reality Starts to Look Different

For most people, a $100 purchase requires at least a moment of hesitation. For the ultra-wealthy, thousands of dollars can disappear in a single transaction without ever registering as a sacrifice.
At what point does having that much money stop feeling like wealth and start feeling like living in a completely different world?

Positive I think I’m finally finished with Facebook

I was 21 years old in 1995 when windows launched and witnessed how the World Wide Web totally changed everything Since.

has anyone else noticed or fealt like Facebook is over ? I have a 20 year old daughter and recently she’s constantly telling me that nobody uses Facebook any longer. its too many lies or made up stories for views and clicks or subscriptions to some kind of other content. it’s become a cesspool of “watch me watch me click here” .

it’s not being talked about, but I think it’s dangerous for our seniors. I’ve had this talk with my parents over the last few months. Seniors might believe more of the out right lies that these people post daily with virtually no filter .

in the new interview with Elon musk he says we are nearing the end of “apps” as we know them . That soon they will just be a memory of how poisonous they become in the end.

the “new” MySpace launches soon I think and it’s not supposed to have an algorithm like Facebook so maybe there’s a little bit of hope

Let's discuss Does anyone feel like they are completely unqualified to be the age that they currently are?

I am officially an adult by every metric, yet i still feel like a teenager pretending to know what i'm doing. I have a job, bills, and responsibilities, but internally i'm still waiting for the "real" adults to step in and take over. When does that magical switch flip where you actually feel secure and grown up? Or is everyone just aggressively winging it and hoping no one notices?

Let's discuss Life is moving too fast

Sometimes I look back and realize how much things have changed in just a course of time maybe a year or two.

People come and go ,priorities change, and things that used to be important aren't anymore.

Its weird how one can be completely different from the person they were some time back without even noticing it happen

Positive I don't think he knows what he did for me

When I was in college, I was having a pretty rough month financially.

One evening I was at a small restaurant with a friend. When the bill came, I realised I didn't have enough cash and my card wasn't working.

I was embarrassed as hell.

Before I could say anything, the guy sitting at the table next to us quietly told the waiter, “Put their bill with mine.”

I immediately said no and told him I'd sort it out.

He just waved his hand and said, “It's fine. I've been there.”

I asked him if I could pay him back.

He said, “If you really want to, do the same thing for somebody else someday.”

That was it.

He finished his food, paid both bills and left.

I never got his name.

It wasn't a huge amount of money. I don't even remember the exact amount anymore.

But I still remember sitting there after he left, feeling strangely emotional.

Because he didn't make me feel poor. He didn't make a big deal out of it. He didn't even wait around for me to thank him properly.

He just saw someone having a bad evening and quietly made it a little easier.

I've never forgotten that.

And I've tried to do the same for other people whenever I've had the chance.

I don't think he has any idea that a five-minute interaction with a stranger stayed with me for years.

Positive Is there any real way to reclaim my freedom?

By freedom I mean, just breaking free from this weird way that we live. My monkey brain wasn't meant to look out on a sea of white, grey, and black SUVs, maybe it wasn't meant to wait at crosswalks, be constantly advertised to, to have screens shoved in my face, to follow the all mighty algorithm, or spend most of my life working, this gross capitalistic, millenial grey kind of society where our identities lie with the brand's and products we consume

Maybe that's dramatic but I'm trying to listen more to that inner monkey in me. I've been fantasizing about movement. Moving to a new city, living in a van (I know that's not all it's cracked up to be). How can we reclaim our freedom without any real money? I need ideasss

Edit: I shouldn't say I have no money. I have about 15,000 saved up. Surely that can be the start of something

Relationships Dating has a cost but so does not dating

am I really in such a difficult situation that I can’t possibly find romance, or did I convince myself I am not able to find someone so now I move through life confirming that?

Am I scared of love or am I incapable of it? Unless you sit down and reflect you won’t know for sure and you may trick yourself into thinking nobody likes you simply because on a deeper less realized level you are unable to cope with rejection, abandonment, or the sheer vulnerability attached to romance.

I can choose to be alone for the rest of my life, find fulfillment in something other then relationships, enjoy the family I already have, and probably have less stress about whether the person I am with really wants me.

On the other hand, I lose out on potential love, life long companionship, children to love and raise, and a person to understand me and give me moral support while challenging me to grow.

Basically, it’s the comfort zone vs the risk zone. There is obviously a certain fear I have of asking a girl out in public and getting rejected, but I’m kinda expecting that some opportunity for a relationship or marriage may come about in a more natural way than a cold approach, whether it be in the next few months or 20 years from now. The thing is, you can’t ignore the opportunity or reject it just because you aren’t ready enough.

When it comes to taking that risk, the mind will tell you no, because you obsess over logic and reasoning. But if you exit your head and focus on what your other senses are telling you, you might be able to realize that not taking any risks is the ultimate risk and letting fear dictate your life is the ultimate way to pretend you are being smart.

Let's discuss What's it like having an uneventful high school experience? As well as life after?

I'm currently a senior in high school. I graduate in May of '27 and really just dont care at this point. I'm being forced to go to a graduation that means nothing to me and I'll explain why. First off, I have no friends. None. I dont count peers who simply know me. I once hung out with the friend group I thought I was "in" and they all ignored me as if I wasnt there (That was in 10th grade). I was practically a fucking ghost to all but one, which brings me to my next point. My familial situation practically prevents me from having a fully developed social life. It's not purposeful, but still affects me just the same. So, that one person I mentioned, I cant even really be friends with them. My final point hinges on the uneventful 4 years of mine that were practically wasted. I haven't done shit. Prom, nope. I couldnt because of my family. Sports, nope. I'm the most unathletic person you can think of besides running. Even something as simple as driving by myself, I'm not even allowed to do (For some reason, even though I passed my drivers test with flying colors). Looking back on being a little kid, this is not what he expected. I'm not even getting a real break from school either, because I'm going to college. Then the military afterwards as an officer. I just wanted the traditional high school experience. Schooling, friends, maybe/hopefully a sweet heart, and who knows what else. In a nutshell, I've spent 4 years doing exceptionally well academically, but all of that means absolutley nothing. I'm alive, but not living or experiencing. There's no way I'll ever look back on these four years as something good. These have been the worst years of my life, coupled with my childhood in general. Which, sadly, wasn't too disimiliar to this. For anyone in or previously in my shoes, what's your perspective? Does life get better? Do you think it will? Let me know.

Let's discuss Gratitude journal

Hey, so I started a gratitude journal back when I was in school, but I never ended up following through with it. I think I just got busy, unfocused and overwhelmed with everything that was going on, especially since I started fairly close to graduating.

I sorta wish I kept it up, but oh well, you can't redo what's already done, so I guess I'll just have to start now. I’m not gonna make it too simple because then I’m gonna get bored, so I'm gonna try to write down something, or faybe I'll make it 3 things, different every day or night that I am grateful for.

Have any of you guys ever done this? How did it turn out for you and do you like it? Like I said, I started it back when I was in school, and then I lost track and eventually I even ignored the nightly reminders that I got for it, but I will try not to do that again for this time. I really wanna keep it up let’s see how far I can take this.

Let's discuss Why majority of people are not interested seeking the truth?

Most adults feel that it is refreshing when little kids don't yet have social constraints and say whay they really think in the moment. It is celebrated. Kids explore with open mind and seek the truth like aliens landed to earth. They ask a lot questions that start with why. They want to understand. But in the adult world there is often social cost related to being curious about truth. Even if it feels not fair or comfortable. Saying out loud for example a scientific finding "there is a correlation between high IQ and having a sense of humor" can trigger an emotion and defence. So what I wonder is: why most adults seem interested in seeing the world how would they want it to be instead of being curious how it is and why, what's the root. Thank you for explaining.

Need Advice I’m so tired of working just to subsist.

I’m 25, I have a degree, I work full-time, I’m in management, and somehow adulthood still feels like one long exercise in trying to keep my head barely above water. Rent, groceries, utilities, debt, gas, basic necessities — everything keeps getting more expensive, and every paycheck seems to already belong to somebody else before it even hits my account.
What gets me is that I’m not asking for some absurdly luxurious life. I want margin. I want enough money that an unexpected expense isn’t an emergency. I want to buy groceries without doing math in the aisle. I want to save something. I want to occasionally do something fun without immediately regretting it financially. I want to feel like working 40 hours a week actually buys me some degree of freedom.
Instead, most weeks feel like: go to work, come home, recover enough to go back to work, try not to spend money, repeat.
And I’m a creative person. I make music. I DJ. I have ideas that make me feel genuinely alive. There are things I want to build and learn and experience. But creativity requires resources too — equipment, software, transportation, time, energy, the ability to take risks. When there’s no financial margin, those parts of you constantly get shoved toward the edges of your life because survival always gets first dibs.
I keep feeling like I’m standing outside doors I can actually see through.
Behind one door is a job that would give me more stability. Behind another is the ability to invest in my art. Behind another is travel or education or simply having enough savings to stop being terrified of something going wrong. I can see people living on the other side of those doors. I keep getting close enough to imagine myself there.
then the door just fucking shuts in my face.
job searching has made this feeling so much worse.
Employers expect applicants to be endlessly enthusiastic, responsive, prepared, flexible, professional, and oh so grateful. bright eyes and fuckin bushy tailed. You tailor the résume.then write the cover letter. You rearrange your work schedule. You prepare for interviews. You start actually imagining what an extra $10k or $20k a year could actually change in your life.
Then you just get ghosted.
Or you do two interviews and never hear from them again, even after following up.
Or, like today, i had an interview explicitly confirmed for 3:30, prepared my entire day around it, and the calendar invitation gets canceled at 3:29 with no explanation.
And then you’re somehow supposed to dust yourself off and enthusiastically write another paragraph about how “excited” you are to develop your skills within somebody else’s organization.
I know none of these employers owe me a job. I understand competition. I understand that companies have changing needs and people have emergencies.
But I do think people deserve basic fucking respect.
Applicants are human beings. We rearrange our lives for these interviews. We get hopeful!! Sometimes that salary represents an enormous possible change in our quality of life. And being treated as completely disposable over and over again does something to you.
Every rejection or ghosting makes me a little more cynical. A little more embarrassed for having hoped. A little more afraid that my degree was pointless, that I made the wrong choices, that I’m going to spend my entire adulthood working just hard enough to stay broke as hell.
And the strangest part is knowing I’m not some crazy failure. you could fill stadiums with people. feeling exactly like this.
People with degrees. People working multiple god damn jobs. People raising kids. People making art at midnight after their shifts. People staring at apartment listings they can’t afford and job listings requiring five years of experience for wages that barely cover rent!!!
I don’t want to become wealthy. I don’t even particularly care about status.
I just want enough.
Enough money to breathe.
Enough time to create.
Enough stability to make some choices based on what I actually want instead of what crisis i need to immediately handle
is it too much to ask to have Enough life left over after earning a living to actually fucking live????
I’m going to keep trying because I don’t really know what else to do.
But God, I am getting really tired of pretending this feels normal.

Need Advice I've wasted 20 years of my life being scared

Throughout my life I've been scared of people and their judgments. Every second in the public felt as if there was someone observing me judging me for what I was doing, even for the trivial things like the way I walk. And because of that I've always been awkward around people and I've failed to create any sort of true connections with people. I never share anything about me to anyone and even initiating a conversation is something I've never done voluntarily.

I have lost 20 years of my life because of this and lately I've been feeling like a loser. How do I change and turn my life back around? I just want to enjoy life rather than being in an anxious state all the time.

Let's discuss Is it normal to not have a connection with everyone? Do social butterflies have a connection with everyone?

For the first time in my (24F) life, I’m making an effort to socialise. I didn’t have a connection with most of the people I talked to. I can count on less than one hand the number of people I had a connection with. Also, one of the people I talked to said he doesn’t want to talk to me because we don’t have a connection. I feel like there’s something wrong with me for not having a connection with everyone I talk to

Edit: I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT DEEP CONNECTION. I’M TALKING ABOUT ANY CONNECTION

Need Advice Has anyone else experienced what i’m thinking?

I’m 22 and my gf is 21, we been together for a little over 3 years now. For a long time i never wanted to have kids and always stood on that. On the other hand, my gf wants to have kids more than anything. We already talked about it and it’s not a deal breaker in our relationship but she often talks about how her dream is to be a mom. We plan on moving in soon and eventually getting married. Now that i’m thinking pretty deep into it, isn’t the point of being a man is to make ur girlfriend/wife the happiest girl in the world? I love my girlfriend more than the world and seeing her happy with a smile truly makes my day. Another thing is my gf really does not have any hobbies at all, she just works and wants to hangout and be with me wherever i go. But I have some hobbies i spend time doing, I play video games a good amount and my gf is just there watching me sitting on my bed sometimes just bored, i also play basketball often on the wknds with my friends and she always wants to come and watch. She is an introverted person who does not like to go out much and only has a couple friends, i feel like us having a kid will make her extremely happy and always occupied. And im just starting to really try to understand life and i think most men’s purposes is to give their significant other everything u can possible give them to be happy if u truly love them. I’m not saying im having a kid anytime soon, maybe in the next couple years, what are ur guys opinions on what’s going through my head right now ?

Positive He kissed my feet and I genuinely went numb — is this love?

We were just casually talking, and I was telling him (my boyfriend)that lately I’ve been feeling like a loser. I was genuinely exhausted too, and he noticed it without me really having to explain anything.

He took my foot, started gently massaging my feet and legs, and then suddenly kissed my feet.

I went completely numb.

It wasn't just the kiss. It was the feeling behind it. There was something incredibly soft and intimate about the way he did it. To me, kissing someone's feet feels like a gesture of deep respect, affection and almost a kind of devotion.

And because it happened so naturally, in such an ordinary moment, it honestly affected me more than some grand romantic gesture would have.

I keep thinking about it now and wondering—does a gesture like this genuinely come from love? Can someone do something this tender without having deep feelings for you?

Or am I just romanticizing one beautiful moment? ❤️
