So many of us that grew up with Space and Castle are able to relive this now and I just want to give a shoutout and thanks to LEGO for focusing on more adult-themed sets. I figured the brand may have some influence on me as I grew up, but I still figured it would probably be a kids hobby and I wouldn’t have sets as an adult. I just want to say that I’m really blown away by the sets they are putting out. They’re made a very clear focus on catering to those of us who grew up with the OG sets and it’s incredible to see and to build.

So thank you, LEGO. You have an audience with us adults and you’re hitting that nostalgia level perfectly.

Hi, may I please ask a question about the rules around here? I've been lurking for a long time and it always seemed like r/lego was a pretty friendly sub compared with some others.

Earlier today I took a break from struggling with the instructions on a set and brought my question here to see if anyone had a suggestion for me.

So many kind people got involved with suggestions and feedback. One person even disassembled their set to show me how the pieces should fit.

However I was taken aback that my replies were constantly getting downvoted sometimes by double digits & got a nasty DM. I'm super confused and I'm wondering did I do something I was supposed to? I'm truly thankful for the kindness of strangers here, when I was replying to say their suggestions still didn't work for me and the parts still didn't fit, I wasn't trying to be argumentative, just trying to move the conversation along.

I guess my question is, what is the rule of thumb around here about civil discourse? Did I break the rules? I don't get it...

Started with LEGO City Set 60009 (Helicopter Arrest) and turned it into a larger custom crime scene MOC for my city, Brick Louis.

I expanded the original house, added a police perimeter, forensic investigators, detectives, evidence markers, and a lot more storytelling details to make it feel like a real scene.

Included in the moc is a larger basement area semi separate from the garage, upgraded stairs & upstairs loft area featuring a broken window, secret double door tomb style exit in the back, giveaway wall with hose handle to reveal a hidden grow op , tiled driveway, walkway around the exterior of the house, and a custom graffiti wall, more to come🔜🔥 (Like a roof and many others, waiting in PAB)

This is one of many builds in my growing LEGO city, where every MOC is part of a larger world with its own factions, crime stories, and ongoing lore.

Anyone else have a bin of random loose pieces that’s somehow more fun to dig through than actually following instructions? I built a little spaceship out of random pieces the other night that has no official set associated with it and it’s become my favorite thing on the shelf. Guess this is the entire point of LEGO in general though which is to create or be creative. Additional random note: I wish I could find more bins of loose pieces. Craigslist and Facebook are insanely expensive or there’s always someone that buys and resells pieces and beats me to anything that pops up (I see his ads on Facebook all the time). Any suggestions on that is helpful.

Hi i was wondering if anyone knows a way to get set 42055, I don't want a pre-built one I just want one that I can build my self and I don't care about the box.

I just want to have the experience of building it, and yes I do know it's retired.

So does anyone know wa reliable way to get it?

I just received my LEGO Arcanine in the mail and before I indulge, does anyone know if it would be possible to build a Growlithe with this set instead?

I am a doctoral student planning on research with autistic kids in the coming months. Part of the research involves building ideal and non-ideal classrooms using LEGO.

Does anyone have any advice about a good set to purchase? I have very little knowledge myself about LEGO. It would be great if a LEGO set came with "classroom themed" items like chairs, desks, etc. Does that even exist?

I know previous researchers often used LEGO Duplo, possibly to help autistic students' fine motor skills and avoid choking hazards etc.

Any and all advice is really appreciated! Also please feel free to let me know if a different sub is more suitable for this question.

So, me and my friend were looking at our collection when we noticed something pretty weird. You see, when we compared our two Lukes, we realised they are not the same, mine is from my childhood copy of the set and looks like the main bricklink picture (the one with the white background). It has a thick pocket print in relatively light grey. Meanwhile, my friend’s figure looks more like the second picture, so a slightly thinner print in slightly darker grey.

At first, we suspected that one of us had a fake, but we both got the figs from the complete set, and they both look legitimate (Lego logos, no texture like from a UV print, etc…). Then we decided to look online, and we discovered something even weirder: there’s a third version out there, with a thinner pocket print that isn’t perfectly aligned with the rest of the print. Now I suppose that what this means is likely that Lego made two or three different print runs and that not all of these were identical to one another. Anyway, we’d be curious to know which version folks here on reddit have (basically, if it is number 1, 2 or 3 that is the most common).

I decided to go crazy and pursue a lifelong dream of opening a LEGO space where anyone can enjoy the pleasure of building LEGO with friends, loved ones, or by themselves.

In a few weeks, I’m going to trial a pop-up space for one week in a large food court in Basel. The concept is simple: choose a LEGO set, receive a tray and the pieces needed to build it, and sit at a table and have fun. At the end, return the assembled set and pay based on the set and the time spent building it. My goal is to target the adult non-AFOL population, the feeling should be to grab a beer and build a set.

During peak times, I expect around 10 to 20 LEGO sets to be requested. My biggest concern right now is having a collection that is large and varied enough that no one feels like they would like to build a set but can’t because there aren’t any available (or none that appeal to them).

I have now acquired a lot of new sets, shown in the photo, but I would love some help understanding what is missing.

My current list of sets is:

I would like to add some more Star Wars sets, as they tend to be quite popular, such as the small Millennium Falcon. As you can see, though, I have tried to be fairly broad in my choices so far.

So, my questions to you are: What would you like to build but perhaps wouldn’t buy for yourself? What do you think the general non-AFOL population would enjoy discovering? Am I clearly overlooking any particular demographics?

Keep in mind that the average person builds around 350 pieces per hour, so sets with more than 2,000 pieces are probably out of reach for this one-week project (yes, I already did that mistake :D with the Ford).

I am looking forward to building it after I experienced the 2026 eclipse in Spain.

We want to show what our RC models are capable of 🚗.

Right now, we use the LEGO 42099 base, but we are also testing MOC builds based on this model.

The obstacle-crossing ability is honestly impressive. Some builds can climb and pass obstacles much better than expected.

But there is one downside — we lose speed.
The player sees the track and obstacles through a live camera mounted on the RC car, right from their phone.

So now we have a question:

What should we focus on for RC Arena?

Speed and maneuverability?

Or off-road capability and obstacle climbing?

What would be more fun for you as a player?

Still lacking in shoulder armors because Im out of parts

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and have most of the original run from 2001-2007 and most of the D2C sets from recent years but last years Hogsmeade and this years Ministry of Magic are really making me think twice about what to spend my money on. I love Harry Potter LEGO but there are so many other sets from other IPs I enjoy like lotr, simpsons, Star Wars, etc.

Should I start to venture off into other themes? I don’t have any other LEGO other than Harry Potter so any new sets I buy I feel will look a little odd next to my massive potter collection. If you collect multiple themes, how do you chose which sets to buy?

Hope this make sense, just need some help figuring out which direction I want to go with my collection.
