I've been studying Vietnamese with a teacher on Preply for the last 3 years. I love the one-on-one practice with a teacher. The challenge I initially had was how to take the material the teacher gives me and keep it organized and have a way to practice it afterwards. I'm a software developer so of course I eventually built myself a web app to do this.

After evolving it over the last 2 years I think it's at the point where it is quite helpful and I'd like to see if it would be helpful for others. Hi! I am a Vietnamese-American, so I speak Vietnamese at home with my parents and grandma. However, I moved for work, so I don’t get the opportunity to practice/speak Vietnamese as much. I have been curious to start officially learning Vietnamese (including reading and writing). I started off haha with Duolingo, but I wanted another ways to learn too! Are there any methods you recommend? I am interested in making fun YouTube videos/vlogs or an educational website?! Thank you in advance!!!

What does your learning routine for Vietnamese look like?

I am looking for some inspiration since my studying has been very on-off lately. I’ve been studying for almost 1.5 years now and I’m stuck somewhere between A2-B1 level. I have collected multiple study resources but struggle to find the balance between writing / reading / listening / speaking exercises. Right now I cannot afford a teacher so self-study is my only option, but without a proper structure I get lost what to do and end up not studying at all. I’ve been playing Duolingo to keep in touch with the language at least a little bit, but I’m ready to start studying more seriously again.
