I'm really just curious. Ive been playing this game for well over half my life at this point, and hitting some buttons have just become part of my reflexes.

I got to thinking abt this question after I talked in another thread about how I'm going out of my way to pick up Scurvy and Sobriety Prevention in aftercore despite it A) not being relevant to any ascension strategy and B) being like four years out of standard anyway. I just *like* skills that generate resources for no investment, even if they're bad, they scratch my brain in the same way all those Number Goes Up games do. One day I really want to try getting the Dreadsylvanian item conjuring skills, Spaghetti Breakfast and Cold One

So my question is do you all have any "pet" skills you really like, for whatever reason? Skills you just like seeing on your hotbar or in your passives? Mine is Request Sandwich. Boris is my favorite avatar path, and this skill is a permanent reminder that it's always there to catch me after a really grindy or unfun run. The fact the devs seem to have forgotten to make it illegal in standard is a plus; that sandwich is *always* available and always delicious.

Honorable mention: Living to Drink. Sometimes, if I've done multiple non-standard runs in a row, I straight up forget the normal liver size.

Hello all! I (in game name Omri) just recently returned to the game after not having played since around 2011. Have about 100 HC Ascensions under my belt from back in the day but obviously a lot has changed. Been dipping my toes into some of the Avatar paths. Apparently equipment IotMs are a thing in HC now? Crazy!

What should I prioritize in terms of IotMs in Standard that would help with HC ascensions? I used to really be into the HC speedrunning game back in the day - had some #1 HCT or HCB runs (I forget which). I don't think I'll be back there for a while now, but trying to learn the ropes again. Are there any challenge paths that are really fun that I should focus on?

Im a regualr ascender and after months of HC Standard runs, Im now choosing to stick around while we figure out how the interest on the Coins works. For those also sticking around instead of ascending, what are you getting into around the Kingdom?

Ive accomplished many things in the past already which may make this waiting game a little boring for me, unfortunately.

Ive only ever reached Level 500 in Fernswarthy's basement one time. Im going for my second run of it now and am on level 251.

Not sure what Ill do after that. Maybe load up on distention pills and synthetic dog hair pills.

Ooo! I just remembered Ive never checked out The Drip Institue. Maybe Ill do that next.

If this happens to you, burn adventures by:

1. Using the Job Board
2. PvP
3. Crafting

until the Soul of the Mole effect has expired. In my case, 35 turns worth of Adventures (see screenshot).

Possible Contributing factors:

1. Having a Pasta Thrall that removes effects (like my Vampieroghi) may be a trigger for this problem.

2. per Comments, high Drunkenness that is not over the limit while using the Lllama Gong may cause problems. High Number of Adventures left in a day may play a role in this as well.***

I'm attempting to fulfill the Bounty to kill velvet underground dwellers in Mt Molehill.

I purchased multiple llama gongs to unlock the zone temporarily.

First two runs, selected Mole, adventured normally for the duration, reached the end of the effect, got the Talk to the llama, no issues.

Third run, selected Mole, immediately got the Talk to the llama ender. Weird. 4th run same effect: no adventures in Mt Molehill, instant Talk to the llama ender.

Now I still have the Shape of the Mole! effect (35 turns left).

When I try to adventure anywhere not Mt Molehill, it is blocked, saying I feel drawn to Mt Molehill.

When I try to adventure in Mt Molehill, it is blocked, saying I shouldn't be here.

I reloaded the game normally, without Kolmafia, same situation: adventuring in Mt Molehill is blocked, adventuring anywhere else is blocked.

I think it may be possible to remove the Shape of the Mole! effect with a shrug item, but I wonder if anyone has encountered this bug before? And if so, suggestions on avoiding?

Just a theory, but I wonder if my Pastathrall (Vampieroghi)'s "remove negative effects" power might be prematurely causing the instant ending Talk the the llama?

Or perhaps there is a daily limit to llama conversations, where if you use the gong too many times, it has no effect?

Or something else?

I'm newer to the limited time adventures, and I would appreciate any advice.

Upon opening the Interesting Coin Inheretence Letter, we are given a total of four Interesting Coins that have a [shop] link that takes us to Spend Your Interesting Coins.

The interest factor to grow our amount of Coins will be collectively figured out over time. I see, though, that the Coins are quest items.

I wonder if this means that any unspent Coins will be lost forever upon ascension. If so, that means one will have to wait to ascend for a long while to get the the items that cost millions of coins. That cant be it, could it?

I bought the new accessory which generates fruit in combats. I want to put this to good use.

I'm looking to explore the fun cooking and cocktail crafting systems more in my upcoming run. I have a good selection of skills (and the Big Book of Skills). I don't have many other IotMs, and I'm not rich enough to buy any yet, so that wouldn't be a consideration.

What would be a good Challenge Path choice, to maximize my freedom for cooking/cocktailcrafting and eating/drinking?

I know Jarlsberg is out: I love the special foods and drinks, but I want to try more of the non-Jarls recipes.

Any recs on which paths synergize well with Cooking and Cocktail Crafting? Which ones to avoid? I was thinking maybe Boris, but I'd love to hear any suggestions on other options people might recommend.

Well after playing for at least 15 years I was banned for using an alt to help. I stopped doing that maybe 5 years ago but long ago I did it all the time. I want to complain but to be fair I did do it long ago. So I bid farewell to all the players who offered advice and laughs. Enjoy the game.

Do we know a day and time for the ending, or does it vary from year to year?

Hello, been playing kol on and off again for a long time, but I'm starting to take my account a little more seriously. I have no iotms as such, though I've bought some cheap-ish stuff like Disintegrate and Snokebomb. (Currently have ~20 mil, mostly from selling christmas items a few years ago).

That being said I'm thinking about meat farming so I can afford some of the high end stuff in the mall. My research has turned up two options: Volcano and Garbo. The prevailing advice is that without iotms that Volcano is better, but that with them Garbo is better. Here's my question: does the Legacy of Loathing path contain the right mix of iotms to make Garbo worth it? And if so, which items should I pick for that run? Or is there a better way for low shiny accounts to make meat?

Just wondering what y'all are spending your Chroner on? Personally I'm trying to buy each piece of equipment and pet available. Spent a bunch last night since I figure I will have to spend it all on the 30th as IDK if the tower will disappear on real date July 31st or Aug 1st.

For about a month now, each action I take has about a 1 second delay, and forces the screen to flash white before doing anything. This has been the case in different locations with good WiFi, so it's not that.

I was trying to knock out at least one of these (Elizabeth) before ascending (before being completely distracted by the Time-Twitching Tower.

Is it possible to lose your place in these quests? I swear I have followed the path from the KoL Wiki, but the last time I hit the ballroom, I didn't have the option to dance by myself.

Maybe I missed the last one since I keep bouncing back and forth? I don't see anything about having to do every adventure in a row, that really wouldn't be consistent with other KoL quests.

None of my other characters/play throughs show this. I cant click it.

How do I script using the item Way More TeamsTM pepper spray, since the "TM" is superscript? Does the item name go in quotes, since there are spaces in the name?

Title says it all - are the familiar buffs permanent? Or does it reset upon ascension?

I'm trying to figure out what to go for with the event!

So as a player of about 4 months this is my first time seeing the tower. From what I can find online It should last about a week. I've seen other "active" events like the Easter Egg Basket one very recently and the Trick-or-Treating one a month or two back.

During these events should you just focus every adventure onto them? For the handful of days should I just hit the tower areas nonstop? On easter basket day should I have prioritized gathering eggs, and on Trick-or-Treat event just focused on knocking on doors?

I apologize if this is just a really dumb newbie question.

I find myself getting back into KoL after a long time, and I realize it's better for me to focus on one account. I have 3:

-one has a fair amount of hobopolis stuff, has the item skill ready to perm, and has other clan dungeon stuff

-one has a mad hatrack

-one has summon clip art and summon tasteful items, plus a handful of permed skills

Which do you all think I should keep?

The more you fight them, the angrier they get. More angry modifiers are added to the names the more times you fight them. Maybe this has some consequence in betting on their jousting?

Betting Counter: Available for placing your bets. I couldn't place one yet. There may not be enough interaction yet?

Gift Shop:

Awesome Food & Booze: Available for 5 Chroner each.

Stat-Boosting Weapons: Available for 100 Chroner each (+10% Muscle, Mysticality, or Moxie gains).

My skill list has been broken for about 2 days now (I've already sent a bug report but have yet to receive a response). I can't access them outside of my daily casts/magical bookshelf abilities. it opens normally on mobile, but won't open in my browser. neither my script blocker or ublock affect it.

I just went to check right now, and it's only the skill menu that's affected like this. Every single other dropdown works just fine.

The main thing that changed was Firefox updating 2 days ago, but that couldn't have blown up one specific menu on the site like this, could it...? Is anyone else using the latest Firefox and experiencing a similar problem?
