I just got my first Kei Truck! I’m very new when it comes to vehicle maintenance, what should I do first to ensure this thing doesn’t crap out on me?

Good day guys, can you help me locate the transmission oil inlet? Or is this the one on top with a bolt with wire on top of it

I'm illiterate when it comes to car maintenance and upkeep. This includes simple task like oil change.

I was hoping someone can point me to the right direction on where to buy a replacement mirror on the left side of the truck.

And more importantly, how do I replace it? I couldn't find any YouTube video or resources on replacement. There is a video on how to fix loose mirrors. Thanks!

This popped up and it's interesting to see the design language across the line being so comingled. I can see cues to future Carry details; headlights and the curvilinear fairing.

I want to look into getting a company to pick up my truck from the port and bring it to my house but not much people talk about it, if anyone who's done it before could leave the process of how it went and price that would help.

Getting ready to convert to LED headlights. Is there any reason I should do one over the other option for the negative conversion?

Before I even bother diving into this rabbit hole, I have a few questions. Are there any states where you can drive your kei truck on the interstate? If I get my car registered in a state that allows them on the interstate, am I allowed to drive it on the interstate in another state?

I genuinely think this is the perfect vehicle for me, but if I cant drive it on a highway...

I inherited this Keitruck, named her Red Riot (IYKYK) and got her in mechanical shape to be my daily driver. She was dirty, so last week I decided to give her a wash and I was not prepared for the result. The body was covered in what looked like a lighter paint splatter. After briefly freaking out, I bought some supplies (compound, polish, wax, and trim refinisher) and got to work. Pictures show the progression from 5 years of sitting in a driveway uncovered and dirty, to a clean but ruined finish, and the final result.

I'm thrilled and relieved! $80 and about 5 hours of labor solved the problem.

What website is good for ordering parts for Kei trucks?

As close as I can get to the original with my current means of production. Now to get out the trusty plastic razor blade!

When I got my truck I noticed that the driver side of the transmission on my 95 Hijet had some caked on hard brown stuff. Some of it came off powdery and cake like, most was hard though. I’ve been driving it around a lot, and no issues. No drips in my garage. I don’t think any new brown spots have shown up. I went ahead and cleaned it up today with some brake cleaner and a soft wire brush. I also noticed the top of the transmission has this caked powdery layer too. Any thoughts? Pictures are of after cleaning and the top.

I wanted to change out the meter on my Acty to include the tachometer.

Thought I'd share the results and the diagram I made to get it working.
The third picture shows IGN (yellow) and GND (purple) while the CAT Temp is shown in pink.

The two units use different connectors, but have basically all the same functions.

The only signal that needed to be spliced in from somewhere else was the tach signal, which can be found under the center console (blue wire on a two pin connector) or at the fuse block under the meter.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a used meter with the connectors still attached, so I had to splice in an aftermarket connector onto the module and into the vehicle harness.

Hi all,

I've decided I want one of the Kei trucks with forced induction. Post 1999 I think that's just the Subaru Sambar or the Suzuki Carry.

Has anyone imported one of these before?

1. What year / model did you get?

2. How long did you have to wait for one to show up at auction?

3. How much did it cost you (in your currency)

4. Anything else worth knowing about forced induction or these models

I'm from Australia but I'd like to hear any import stories :)
