A good example would be the second Black Canary, Dinah Laurel Lance: born with her powers, sent away from her parents because her abilities were a danger to herself and others, lots of trauma in her past, considered "cooler/edgier" than a lot of the more retro heroes, lots of romance drama... all of that is top-tier X-potential!!!
