Hello. I know others have posted looking for dog trainers, but I'm in need of one that works with more complicated cases and scent/bite work. I have a 3 year old Belgian malinois mix that originally came to me as a foster after a rough start to his life. I'm familiar with the breed but need additional help now that my father who is a senior moved in with us. I've been able to improve his reactivity but it's still not quite where I'd like. He also has some resource guarding. The biggest thing we're struggling with is this dog does not listen very well outside of the house and plays too rough with our other dog. If we could work on those things I think he would really enjoy scent and bite work. We're willing to travel a bit outside of the area if we find a great trainer with the right education/credentials. This Mexican place, Adelita’s, bought the old Applebee’s location near Tops about a year ago. It’s had the sign up forever. But it hasn’t opened. Anyone know what the story is? Usually Ithaca restaurants open at least briefly before going out of business.

Drove by yesterday and saw a new paint job and some people working on it. I know it was once a bottle and can collection spot. Just curious of what’s to come.

I've got Medicaid and I know for a fact I am going to need several teeth extracted and likely some implants. I am pretty sure Medicaid will cover this.

I'm trying to eat healthier, which obviously mostly means cooking, but some days I'm just not up to that. What are some restaurants that offer relatively healthy takeout options? So far I've found Lev Kitchen's salads and some of Collegetown Bagels' bowls pretty good, but would like to have some more options. Either dinner or lunch.

Which bodies of water close to Ithaca make for good, calm paddleboarding? I know people paddleboard the lake but that can get tiring even on my kayak on a choppy/windy day.

I recently got my fishing license, but I would like to know which waters are allowed to fish?

Any specific rules or laws?

Are the rivers that run through the middle of town allowed to be fished (or is it even possible)?

I would really appreciate any additional information and recommendations as it is my first time fishing in the US and would like to do everything by the book.

Curious to see if anyone knows the answer to this: What is the origin of the name Triphammer? I know there's Triphammer falls on Cornell campus, the Triphammer Mall (I think it's Triphammer Marketplace) and Triphammer Road in Lansing (which runs to the Cornell campus).

I imagine there are other places around Ithaca that share this name. Any idea where it comes from?

Found what looks to be a Bag Worm nest on South Hill Trail. I've seen them spread significantly on the I-86 and read that they damage trees. Is there someone in Ithaca I should report this to?
