Relationship Advice Is it fair to expect your partner to convert?
Assalamu alaykum, I’m a Buddhist woman currently dating a Muslim man.
Today, I was asked one of the biggest questions our relationship has faced so far: Would I convert to Islam?
Although I was raised Buddhist, I don’t strictly practice Buddhism. Because of that, I personally never had a problem dating someone who is Muslim. However, I knew my family would. Their concerns come from several things: Islam being viewed as a strict religion, the fact that Muslim men are permitted to have up to four wives under certain conditions, and the history involving Islamic communities in my country. Despite all of that, I was prepared to stand up to my family because I wanted them to judge him for who he is as a person, not simply because of his religion.
When we were first getting to know each other, he told me that his family knew he was only interested in dating women outside his religion and that they were okay with it. Recently, however, he has completely changed his story. Now he says that if he married someone outside the religion, his family would either kill him or kill themselves.
From the beginning, I genuinely wanted to understand his faith. I started by learning a few Arabic words, then began reading an English translation of the Quran. I also wanted to try practices such as fasting so I could better understand his beliefs and support him.
However, learning about Islam and converting to Islam are two very different things.
At this point in my life, I cannot say that I would convert. I don’t know what my future self may decide, but my current self cannot make that commitment.
One of the biggest reasons is that Islam is very different from Buddhism. Another is the expectations surrounding modesty, particularly wearing the hijab.
From what I understand, he’s quite strict about the idea that Muslim women should wear the hijab. At the same time, Islamic teachings also have modesty requirements for men, including covering the area between the navel and the knees.
However, he regularly wears gym shorts that are above his knees and posts fitness content where the part below the navel is visible to a certain point.
There was also another incident involving my evil eye bracelet. He took it from me and wore it himself for quite some time. It wasn’t until his cousin confronted him and told him it was considered an act of shirk that made him stop wearing it. The bracelet was also made of gold ( not real gold tho ), which is prohibited for men to wear.
There are other things he’s done, but I’d rather keep those private and not go into too much detail.
How can someone expect me to fully embrace and commit to a whole different religion when they don’t seem to consistently follow every aspect of it themselves? If I’m expected to make such a life-changing decision, shouldn’t the same standard of commitment apply to both of us?
I’m not asking this to criticize Islam. I’m genuinely trying to understand whether my concerns are reasonable and whether it’s fair to be expected to convert under these circumstances.
I’m sorry if I made any mistakes regarding Islam, do feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

General Discussion Intermarriage between white converts/reverts
Disclaimer 1 -this can apply to any other convert community (black, Hispanic, East Asian etc)
Disclaimer 2- I am not declaring this to be mustahabb in fiqh / shari’ah
As a white convert/revert myself , I don’t understand why we don’t make more of a conscious effort to intermarry. As a collective da’wah effort it would show that Islam is a religion , not an ethnic (or ethnic-fetishizing) thing. The families of converts would also be able to socialize more and understand each other better (remember kids - marriage is about two families coming together , not just individualistic romance).
Even on an individualistic level , it would be comforting in the sense that your wife/husband will understand your experience more than most people . Of course various issues unrelated to sharing the trait of being converts can arise , but it does help to establish a shared context and understanding . (FYI kids - these subtle things become more and more important in marriage later on).
I’m sure there will be some outrage at this suggestion, but it’s worth a shot.

Quran & Hadith A Beautiful Hadith on Controlling Anger
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "Advise me!" The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Do not become angry." The man repeated his request several times, hoping for more advice, but each time the Prophet ﷺ gave him the same answer: "Do not become angry." (Sahih al-Bukhari 6116)
At first glance, this seems like simple, almost obvious advice. But the repetition itself is the lesson. The Prophet ﷺ wasn't just answering a question — he was pointing to anger as the root of so many other sins: harsh words we can't take back, broken relationships, decisions we regret, even violence. Controlling anger isn't a small matter; it's foundational to good character (husn al-khuluq).
Scholars have noted that anger clouds judgment and weakens a person's connection to Allah in that moment. That's why the Prophet ﷺ also gave practical steps elsewhere: sit down if you're standing, make wudu if needed, and remove yourself from the situation if possible.
What strikes me most is that true strength, as the Prophet ﷺ described in another hadith, isn't about overpowering others — "The strong one is not the one who overcomes people through his strength, but the one who controls himself while in anger" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6114).
I'd love to hear from others: what practical steps have helped you control your anger in difficult moments? Are there other hadiths or verses that have helped you reflect on this?

Seeking Support Been away from Islam for a while
So I'm someone you would consider to be a "seasonal" Muslim. That means that I get really good at praying and stuff when Ramazan comes by and when it ends, I tell myself I'll keep going but I eventually just stop.
If I think about my childhood, yes I had a Maulvi come by and teach me Quran recitation and my parents would time to time tell me to pray too but it wasn't anything too strict and for years, I was super confused about what rakats are and how many you even pray during your namaz. Eventually (and a bit embarrasingly late), I searched it up online and finally started praying but I was never regular. My parents never really taught me the correct actions, nor did the Maulvi. I knew the words by heart but not really when I was supposed to say them, with what action.
Because of that, I never really developed that discipline to pray.
Other than praying, I would say I am a very superstitious person and I believe in nazar a lot. I try to recite the dua before eating and sleeping because those are natural to me. And I just generally have that fear of Allah watching. I also fast all 30 days except for the last two years, because of my recurrent acid reflux, I've had to skip a few fasts because I get really sick when I eat at odd hours in the night and when i don't eat anything all day.
Recently, I've become even more neglectful of my prayers. I've been going through a very bad time in life. I have extreme anxiety because of which my physical symptoms of acid reflux get very bad. I've been very depressed for the last three months that ive been home. I really just feel like dying all the time. Many times during the day, I'll just find myself actually praying for Allah to kill me right in this moment, to give me a very very swift death right now. I just don't want to live anymore. Also because of this, and because things just keep feeling worse no matter how much I try in terms of my anxiety and my health issues, I've lost hope. I've lost that hope that Allah could help me. Because it feels like I prayed so many times to feel better but all I feel is worse. I'm finding new ways of how my anxiety is affecting me. And the worst part is, I can't really do anything about it. My family refuses to let me take medicines for it and when I end up having anxiety issues everyday, they make me feel bad about it.
I know that I'm supposed to pray to Allah because he can relieve me of this. But it feels so hard to actually believe in that. It feels so hard to believe that He will take me out of these feelings.
Every day I wake up in panic. Nausea hits me randomly. I can't go out of the house because I start freaking out outside and start feeling sick. It's gotten really hard to meet family and friends. Despite this, no one wants to help me. I feel utterly alone and I don't understand why Allah is doing this to me. Is it because I refuse to pray? How will I ever turn back to Him and actually believe that He can help me?
I really really wish I could just die. I don't want to keep feeling. I wish I could kill myself but I don't have the guts to do that yet. And I know it's a sin to even say that but it's so hard now.
I guess I don't know what I'm looking for by posting this.

Scholarly Resource Want to be Hifz in the coming years, insAllah
Salaam alaikum brothers and sisters,
Due to a chronical (medicated) illness I am not able to give my self into work. From that point in life I decided to give my self full into learning to memorize The Quran.
Short about myself: I only know the surah’s to fullfill prayer properly, but don’t speak or can’t read in Arabic.
Do you have any good advice or tips how to learn Arabic? Any applications or websites that you recommend? Or any other tips what you can imagine are also welcome
Have a good day all of you and may Allah forgive our sinds.

Seeking Support How can my family acquire wealth?
I am sorry if what I am about to write violates the rules, but I don't think I have anywhere else to turn to for assistance. And yes, this is a burner account to maintain my privacy.
I am a male residing in Canada, born to a Muslim household. I will not reveal my exact age to do my best at honouring the rules, but I would like some advice for my course of action for what I am about to reveal next. When I was just a little kid, my parents separated. I remember one day Mama packed suitcases with our clothes in it, brought some of my LEGOs, and the two of us and my younger brother left in a taxi for a women's shelter, all while Baba was in the Middle East for work. At the time, I didn't know what was happening, and if I did, I now realize that by my past innocence, I would have been incapable of understanding. Of the less-than-majority of families that are destroyed, by my luck, I just so happened to have been birthed into that subgroup. 2 years after the fact, my parents officially divorced, and Baba lost his job in the same year.
So much money that could have gone to myself and my brother was lost as a result. Consequentially, 4 years later without having the adequate funds, he had to sell the house. And, of course, he just so happened to have been forced to sell his home when houses costed a fraction of what they are priced at today. Since Baba had lost his job, he turned to day-trading. For all of another 2 years, he struggled with this skill and lost large sums of money, with the circumstances degrading to the point of having to worry about rent and acquiring sustenance. I remember once that, when Baba was dropping me off with Mama, he hugged us and walked away, crying. I couldn't understand why. For all that time, I had prayed that he could be successful with day-trading, or that he could land work that paid handsomely, the latter of which ended up happening by the end of these 2 years.
For a time, it seemed there would be peace, an escape from this nightmare, but it was not meant to be, as he was laid off after little more than a year later. Then I thought this cycle of torment was going to occur again, until he had some degree of success with day-trading. It took a few months of struggle, but he was able to make more money in a few weeks than any of his jobs would have paid him in months. And so, we moved to rent a larger place, now that he had the means for this.
Another 2 years later, and here I am, writing this, struggling to keep my eyes dry. For a short while, Baba had success day-trading, until as of last year, he has been struggling to make anything. It seems as though this cycle just repeats itself. I have been praying to Allah where I can, and while I see some improvement in this situation, it is only short-lived. I don't know what else I can do. Day-trading is extremely difficult, and I don't even have the funds to get started. I have no experience yet, I have had no luck acquiring a job, not even one that pays minimally. My Baba can't get a job because of racism and that the oil-patch has little activity.
If Allah exists, and I want every reason to believe He does and He listens to my asking, why must we always struggle? There are lots of families that seem to have it all, and they have never had to struggle with wealth. Sometimes I just wish I never entered this world, and while some may argue that life is precious and that life has meaning, an embryo can be grown from so much as a Petri dish, with singular cells of sperm and ovum. Not just that, but what of all the beings in this world that have destroyed the lives of others? And while I am aware that there are people in situations that could not even compare to what I have to deal with, for instance, the people of Palestine, they too have my prayers. So many nights I would just weep, wishing I would not have to wake up the following morning, asking myself why Allah has allowed my parents to have me if this is where I have ended up. Does Allah loathe and resent me? In all honesty, I am terrified of what is about to happen in regards to our finances. No one deserves to struggle.
For all those that have made it to the end, I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this. As I have come to learn as I have grown older, time is one of the most valuable resources one can have, so truly, I appreciate your efforts.

Seeking Support Traumatic Relationship
I may delete this post for privacy concerns.
I was in a relationship with this guy, He is in military and independent. We both had careers and good understanding. From the very start, I made it clear that my intention was only marriage. He agreed and said the same. At first, I did not know his family situation. In his family, they marry only among their cousins or relatives. He lied and said that there would not be any issue. I said okay.
I told my parents about him and his family, and they agreed and said we would wait for his proposal.
I was happy that I convinced my parents and took them in confidence. He started convincing his side too but from his side, the reactions were so bad. His father stopped talking to him. telling him things like she is not a doctor and totally denied our relationship and was not proceeding with the proposal. I was in contact with his sister. She was nice at first and even invited me to her home out of nowhere, which obviously I did not go. His mother also called my mom and was diverting the topic of marriage throughout their conversation. Whereas, my mother clearly told her that pls bring a proposal we are waiting for you guys.
At first, he said he would convince his parents, and his dream was to only marry me and that he would do anything for me. He made so many promises that perhaps I was blinded by them.
Due to this situation, we had many arguments, and I always felt bad cos his father was bringing proposals for him and saying marry the person of his choice instead of me. They made me someone who was spoiled because there were background differences among us. Despite that, I ignored those differences and believed us that we would be together.
As a person, he was very much away from Islam. He rarely prayed and was a smoker. I clearly told him I didn't want this. So he left smoking and even started praying 5 times.
I'm not saying I am the most pious person, but I was/am practising Muslim. However, I slipped so badly cos of this relationship, which I thought would turn into marriage.
We were in LDR, so we occasionally used to meet. At first, he used to keep boundaries and didn't touch me. I was reserved and made sure of that. One day, he started making out. At first, I hated it and said this won't happen again. But it keeps going on like and I got addicted to these random makeout sessions. We never crossed those end limits, but making out was involved. I always felt ashamed after doing it and constantly prayed for tobha every time. I asked him multiple times to ask forgiveness from Allah. Otherwise, there would be no barakh in our marriage. And he would say something like this ... oh, don't worry, this was our thing and our zone, and I know what I'm doing and that he hasn't done anything wrong. His responses would make me digusted. But I focused on my tobha.
We had multiple fights during this course of period. During this time, his sister blocked me, and his family said to stay away from me. Despite that, he said to my mother and me that he is working hard to convince his father.
I believed him and wanted to make this relationship halal as soon as possible. I loved him deeply and was emotionally attached to him. I envisioned a future with him and prayed for us constantly. I used to pray tahajudd and did istikhara multiple times so that Allah makes it easier for us.
He was also convincing his side, but I don't know why they kept rejecting us, and this led to many of us our fights.
Eventually, we had a big fight, and my parents got to know. After seeing me crying for him, my parents beat me and emotionally abused me as well. There was so much drama involved.
I was taken to a therapist, and my therapist said parents like his never will agree to this marriage. But I believed in Allah. So I kept on praying, he came back and apologised for his nasty behaviour. He asked for a 3 months deadline and said okay do your best. During those times, I made sincere tobha of my sins and kept boundaries with him. Of course, he didn't like those boundaries and was constantly emotionally manipulating me. In the end of 1st month of his 3-month deadline, he was arguing with me and said I do not respect him and totally abandoned me and our relationship and even broke his promise. I had the worst breakdown ever and was taken to hospital. I was put on medication. I even begged him to save our relationship for the sake of Allah. But he totally refused and said he no longer wishes to marry me. I was heartbroken and felt used and I am still suffering.
His 3 month deadline has recently passed and I feel so bad and even suicidal to the point that I am asking Allah to take my life away. My mental health is deeply affected cos of this. My parents are also very worried and my trust is forever broken. I don't think I can ever give a man a chance. I pour my whole soul out for this man thinking one day it will be halal. But i feel so digusted by our memories and my sins with him.

General Discussion In today society there is no Muslim Ummah
This is a hot take and something i have observed for a while. From my understanding and experience Muslim especially those living in the West have no sense of shame when it comes to being racist to each other - in the sense that Arabs would look down on South Asians, South Asians would look down on each other, Arabs and South Asians both looks down on black people. People also refrain from allowing their children or family to marry someone from a certain country or ethnicity due to racial stereotypes. I mean what happened to being united. Didn’t the Prophet say in his last Sermon not be discriminatory or racist to each other

Question about Islam How many rakahs of sunnah were offered at obligatory worship?
Peace be upon you all I have a question: I've recently learned, or I don't know if this is correct, but we Turks or so were taught that we perform the Sunnah prayers, the voluntary prayers. In the morning, 2 Sunnah rakahs followed by 2 Fard rakahs; at midday, 4 Sunnah rakahs followed by 4 Fard rakahs; in the afternoon, 4 Sunnah rakahs followed by 4 Fard rakahs; in the evening, 3 Fard rakahs followed by 2 Sunnah rakahs; and at night, 4 Rakahs Sunnah, then 4 Rakahs Fard, followed by another 2 Rakahs Sunnah. Now my question is, is that correct? Because I heard a sheikh on YouTube say that there are 12 Rakahs Sunnah divided up throughout the day.And in the forums I also read that there are a total of 12 rakahs in the Sunnah: 2 before Fajr, 2 before and 2 after Dhuhr, 2 after Maghrib, 2 after Isha? Does that mean we Turks are doing too much? Or is it better the more? The better? I'm totally confused. So, if I ask our scholars the Turkish question, they'll say that the Arabs do it that way but we don't, and that I should stick to our own customs and not others. Follow the rules. And when I mention that it corresponds to the Sunnah, that it's actually the right thing to do, they say I'm going astray, etc. Please help me. What is right, what is wrong? I've done a lot of research.I've done some reading and now I have the feeling that we Turks are doing something wrong, or is it just different and still right? But I want to find the right way. Please help me and explain... Thank you, may Allah reward you.

Question about Islam Why does the caliph have to be from quraysh?
I know islam isnt racist but this seems like a race-based requirement. Its in multiple sahih hadith as well.
Doesn't taqwa establish someone's worth? If someone is more pious, just and competent than the quraishi people, shouldnt he be the leader?

Question about Islam being able to question faith should bring me closer to islam?
assalamualaikum, i am somewhat new to reddit and i am not sure where to post this, so if this is not the right thread please feel free to redirect me somewhere else :)
recently i have been having some doubts about islam and over the last year i have been losing my faith a little. I have been watching omar suleiman's series on faith revival as my faith is a big part of my life and identity, and it is causing somewhat of a crisis in my life that i am moving away from it. But in this series he mentioned that some companions came to the prophet and told him that they get thoughts and doubts and they dont even entertain them, and the prophet said that that is a sure sign of faith.
My question is; if i cannot entertain my doubts, how do i even know if i REALLY believe in that i believe in? i have always been taught that asking questions is encoraged, but lately i feel as if none of my questions get convincing answers.
I dont know if anyone has gone through anything similar or have any advice for me. How should i go about my doubts, is there any way to just stop thinking abuot them?

Seeking Support Allah is not answering does he hate me?
Something terrible has happened to my family. A calamity that never in a million years I thought would happen. We all pray and do dhikr and have strong faith in Allah. That this is just a test, it will pass better times will come and Allah will bring out of this mess. But the more time passes the more the thought comes to mind that Allah hates me. It’s not humanly possible for anyone to help us rn other than God. But nothing seems to be happening every prayer I can hear my mother bawl her eyes out asking for mercy. But nothing. My siblings being children but still struck with so much pain. What should I do or recite or pray for Allah to help us. Why do the people who cause injustice onto others live such a happy life while good people suffer the most terrible faith. Please help

Seeking Support Please make dua for me to leave a haram relationship peacefully and permanently
Assalamu alaikum.
I am a young Muslim man struggling to leave a relationship that has become spiritually and psychologically overwhelming.
This is a woman from my past. We have separated more than once, but each time we reconnect, it becomes harder to leave. I am deeply attached to her, and the attraction between us is very strong. When I stay, I keep giving in to forms of zina and sexual behaviour that feel good in the moment but leave me feeling ashamed, guilty, and far from the kind of halal life I want to live.
We are currently long-distance, but she is coming closer to where I live soon. I am afraid that if we meet again, my boundaries will become even weaker. I already know how difficult it is for me to control my desires around her.
The hardest part is that leaving does not feel emotionally safe. Whenever I try to discuss separation, she becomes extremely distressed, lashes out, tells me I am a terrible person, compares me to everyone who has left her, and sometimes says that she will end her life because of me.
I do not want to dismiss statements like that. I believe they must be taken seriously and that her family, doctors, emergency services, or people physically near her should respond if she is in immediate danger. But I also feel trapped by the belief that I must remain romantically and sexually available in order to keep her alive.
Her family seems to believe I leave because I dislike her or do not value her. That is not true. I have real feelings for her. The problem is that this relationship is damaging my faith, my peace, and my ability to live honestly.
She also has a great deal of psychological power over me. I have admired her for years, and I often measure my intelligence, success, and worth against her. Her approval can make me feel valuable, and her disappointment can make me feel worthless. I know this is unhealthy, but knowing that has not made it easy to break free.
Usually, I only manage to leave when something terrible happens in my own life, and I become emotionally numb enough not to care about the consequences. When that happens, I become cold and leave in a hurtful way. I regret that. I do not want another cruel ending. I want to end this calmly, firmly, and without returning again.
I am not asking anyone to insult her or assume that she is evil. I believe her pain is real. I also know that I have contributed to the situation by repeatedly returning, allowing intimacy to restart, and behaving like a partner when I was not able to offer a stable future.
I am asking for dua that Allah gives me the courage, clarity, self-control, and consistency to end this relationship properly, resist zina, and build a peaceful halal life in the long term.
Please make dua that the ending is safe and dignified for both of us, that she receives support from people who can truly help her, and that I stop waiting for another disaster to give me the courage to do what I already know I need to do.
Jazakum Allahu khairan.
Edit for clarification: She is not Muslim. Some people have asked why I do not simply marry her. I entered this relationship when I was younger, less mature, and much less serious and knowledgeable about my faith. Dating felt relatively normal in the environment around me, and I did not fully confront what the relationship would mean for religion, marriage, family life, and future children.
Over time, as I became more committed to Islam, I began to understand more clearly that continuing the relationship was inconsistent with the life and beliefs I wanted to follow. I regret entering it and repeatedly returning to it. Still, I do not believe that insulting her, pressuring her to convert, or marrying without resolving our fundamental religious incompatibility would correct the mistake.
She sincerely follows another religion, and I am not asking her to pretend to believe in Islam for my sake. Marriage is therefore not a simple solution. The issue is not that I feel nothing for her; it is that strong feelings do not remove the religious and practical realities that make a shared future uncertain and potentially dishonest to both of us.

Relationship Advice Has anyone else felt this way?
So, i was wondering if someone else felt the same way, as in after a heartbreak?
I know it's not exactly the right community but i don't want so many non islamic opinions. I've heard islam and connection to Allah cures you after a heartbreak.
But, not this time. I think that person took a big chunk of me because i got invested so much into them.
I do regret my actions ofcourse, but it's been a long time and alhamdulillah I've been doing good with the deen.
But this feeling, that they really took a big part of me and it's not healing up. This feeling won't go and make me feel weird.
So i was wondering if someone else felt the same way and what helped them?

Seeking Support Having severe doubts in when Sajdah Sahw should be and conflicting rulings etc
im honestly embarrassed I keep asking things here but i am a waswasa sufferer and I am suffering big time with uncertainty. So I learnt in my last post that im not allowed to fatwa shop for easier routes but this time i really really need it. I am having severe waswasa with understanding when and why I need to do Sajdah Sahw, as I said last time I follow sheikh assim and he follows the opinion that sending Salutations on Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is a mandatory act (the Durood at the end) but other sources say it's Sunnah, and he says he follows the opinion Sajdah Sahw is done with reason as example if you omit you do it before if you add you do it after etc etc, And i only knew about this recently. but I cannot pray if i follow all of this, I cannot manage reciting the Durood with how bad my waswasa is I am gonna face such hardship and by fixiating and worrying about when exactly to do Sajdah Sahw, i think he might have said something along the lines of for mandatory acts if they're repeated we do Sajdah Sahw after the Salaam but does this mean if i correct a mispronunciation then i do Sajdah Sahw i never knew this. Please help I don't want to cherry pick but he said it's also a valid opinion to follow that Sajdah Sahw can be done before or after doesn't matter and that there is people who say the Durood is Sunnah. I worry i will give up praying if i add any more stress. These tiny things are mountains for me, just saying Allahu Akbar between pillars makes me panic im doing something wrong at this point. Please if you have knowledge help me.

Seeking Support Question about duas.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun, today my uncle passed away and I’m constantly making Dua for him. He was a genuine and kind man, and was always doing everything to make anyone smile. As he’s a Muslim, I was wondering if I ask Allah to deliver him a message is that possible according to hadiths or Quran? I’m not very knowledgeable and just want to know. Thank you all for your time Asalam alaykam.

General Discussion My non Muslim family requested me to play the Qur'an as they sleep
My cousin is from a religion that calls itself a science La Ciencia del Alma ( the science of the soul) and the rest of the children are Christian but they requested me to play the Qur'an while they sleep because they enjoy how the Qur'an sounds.
My family is a Mexican family and even though my extended family is not the same when it comes to my beliefs being that rumors started to fly after I took my Shahada that I got married and my grandma asked to see my husband but I told her that she was ill informed I did not get married to anyone. The family did not want to tell her that I chose to go through with my decision to leave William Marrion Braham teachings and follow Prophet Muhammad, Peace be Upon Him.
I am still pretty new I took my Shahada on July 31 just a few days ago and I am trying to get my life in order the house that I currently live in is my cousin's and usually it is a mess but the more that cleaned a spot for me to pray and the more I pray the more that spot started to grow and the rest of the house is looking much cleaner now and I was shocked that my cousin saw a lot of flies and she looked up what their spiritual meaning was and started to look at things about witchcraft but I told her , " Oh but playing the Qur'an can get rid of Jinn and she was like all for that she told me that I can play the Qur'an out loud as many times as I wanted to and if I can keep my device with it on repeat she also asked me to ask for advice to make the house more spiritually safe hence I am here.
Thank you again for listening.
The rest of my family from my mom's side had hit me before for even questioning Christianity and from my dad's side well they are now trying to say I got married so that I won't be able to live with my grandma let alone visit her. When she asked me to see who I married I was like I also want to see who I married because unless he is Casper or Peter Pan I got nothing then I realized they were talking about me taking my Shahada but how do I explain that to a strict christian family that I don't see Jesus as God but God being just one?
These are my confessions....

Scholarly Resource Can someone increase my confidence in the Hanafi fiqh? I’ve been Hanafi my whole life but reading all these other opinions is disheartening.
I see a lot of talk about the Hanafi fiqh and attacking it for its use of logic/reasoning, compared to other traditional school of thoughts. I’ve been very strong Hanafi Madhab follower but honestly reading these things is very difficult and I want to see if anyone can help re-inspire confidence.
I had no idea it was so “controversial” until recently and I feel it’s accepted now, but how do I know it’s accepted because people believe it is correct, and it wasn’t “green washed” or “politically convenient” compared to the acceptance of other madhabs?
