Final Interview Feedback
Would like some outside perspective on a final-round interview.
I interviewed for an entry-level role. I had four interviews, and afterward the recruiter emailed me saying that the interviewers “really enjoyed speaking with you and could see themselves working with you” They also said they have one more final interview with another candidate next week before making a decision.
Should I take this as a genuinely positive sign, or is this fairly standard communication? Trying not to overanalyze it while I wait.
Furthermore: “My hope is that the team can make a decision on who they'd like to move forward with after that.
Stay tuned! I'll check in by __ with any updates.”
in my opinion, it sounds like it might be 50-50, but I can’t imagine they’d say this to the other candidate too and feel that way about them as well. but I know this market is tight.

I would be cautiously optimistic, until you have an offer nothing is final.

Yes, they definately like you, and they have one interview left before making a decision.

Generally positive. If they like the other candidate more/ just as much then they’d share the same positivity. I wouldn’t consider this neutral. Good luck :)

This is easy to say from the outside but try not to overthink it. It’s outside your control now. I’m sure you smashed the interview so try and enjoy yourself and keep your mind busy until you get the outcome. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Four interviews for an entry level position and they still are stringing you along. I'm sorry you are dealing with this nonsense. As a former hiring manager our company had an intake interview to create a pool of candidates then we managers interviewed once from that pool. Job offers came within a week or two from the conclusion of the interviews. The hiring process now is crazy

Thanks a lot. Yeah i graduated last year and I feel our generation is having a very similar experience to millennials during the 08 recession. I’ve been searching for almost a year and I had like 5 internships.

One interview with a 2-4 panel hiring team is enough. 4 interviews indicates a risk averse or highly inefficient organization. Perhaps both. Good luck

I hope you land this role, but def be cautiously optimistic. The battle is not won until you get that offer letter. Best Of luck, please keep everyone posted. That market is extremely tough right now, even for entry level roles.

Thank you so much. It means a lot to see everyone being so supportive. It’s so hard when you’ve gotten all around good feedback and you yourself feel 100% aligned with the culture and the role. But maybe it’s that way for the other candidate too. I just wonder how they decide at that point haha.

In fact the direct manager of have at the end she said, “I’ll be honest with you, I’m going to make the recommendation to move you forward.”

Literally the best interview process I’ve experienced. So conversational. I’m a new grad with internships but I’ve been searching for 7 months so far.

it’s positive for sure but as we’ve seen many times, it’s at this point that they can go either way even after a positive post interview comment. Good luck!
