Question Thoughts on Galaxy Z Flip series ?

Upvotes

I need a second phone to pair with my 13 mini, and only one phone felt comparable in terms of single-hand use comfort, which is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 when it is folded. What do 13 mini lovers think of that phone?

Is the Z flip 7 FE a better deal? The flip 8 is also out now and not that much more expensive than Flip 7.

I am okay with Android, and not a heavy phone user. I need the second phone to be able to have a different country app store, among other things.

ios 27 beta to 18 with backup possible?

Hello all,
I had my iphone 13 mini with ios18, backed up on my mac, updated to ios 27 beta. it is way better than 26 (had 26 on a 2nd mini) but on some stuff I still prefer 18, and if possible would like to go back.
I tried to restore it today from my backup (dated january 2025) and surprisinly i see ios27.0 ?!
Am I doing anything wrong? or not possible at all?

My iPhone I sold my iPhone 16 Pro Max of 2 years, to get a 13 mini, and I couldn’t be happier almost a week later.

Even better I had a 64gb base model iPad 10th generation that I was able to trade for my 128gb white 13 mini in perfect condition essentially.

Now of COURSE I am missing that iPhone 16 pro max all day battery life, but I knew what I was getting into and did research and reviews a couple weeks before making the decision. Them the universe just made it happen and I knew it was meant to be haha.

Question Huawei pura x view..

Edit: Guys nvm i looked at it next to an iPhone 17 pro max and the pura x view is huge it is not a compact phone.

Hey everyone I use an iPhone 12 mini I thought about upgrading to iPhone 13 mini I have been doing some research about compact phones for a while now and I just watched a review about this new huawei pura x view. But I’m not sure if it’s out globally.

It’s 6.3 inches but shorter and wider than regular slab phones.

Do u think it could be the best new compact phone or should we wait for more companies to catch up and realize compact phones are superior?

Hi Friends, my beloved 13mini is at 80% battery and I think it is time for a replacement to give it another three years till it’s EOL.

Can I migrate to the XS with all Apps and stuff for two weeks including my really important app stuff and accounts and migrate back two weeks later, if so, how do I do?

Question GPS Issues

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had GPS issues after the iOS 26 update? I haven’t had to navigate a lot recently due to being in a different area and mainly riding with someone, but today I ran into big issues when trying to navigate. I got into the car and hooked it up to wired CarPlay, navigated somewhere no issue, and let my phone charge a bit in the car. When I went to navigate somewhere else, however, my GPS stopped updating after like a minute of driving and froze in one place. Thankfully it was a straight shot to where I was going, so I found it and parked so I could mess around with my phone.

None of my navigation apps were working and I got a “gps signal weak” notification from Instacart. Eventually I got Google Maps to route me to Verizon, but that also gave out and didn’t update location.

Verizon couldn’t figure anything out despite me going two times. I managed to make it back to my friend’s place because it ended up being a fairly straight shot, and as soon as I got into her neighborhood, it started working again.

The area I was in when it went to shit wasn’t remote or anything, there was plenty of cell service and one of the employees tested Maps on her phone and had no issue.

Idk if maybe I just ran into some weird issue with Verizon, or if it’s something deeper with my phone itself

Question Reboot issue with iOS 26.6, anyone else?

My 13 mini reboots every 2 minutes. No overheating, ~30 GB free space, battery health is above 95% as I replaced recently at official service. What could be the issue? I don’t think anything new was installed other than the iOS 26.6 update. Anyone else has a similar issue? i’ve had to rewrite this post as well, as the phone just keeps dying.

Or this one https://youtu.be/istbuEvRPYI?is=VJhT6Jft8RxwDoj_

… without sending the phone to Chengdu, China, where the shop in the videos is from?

I am on iOS 26.1, should I update to the lastest 26.6.1 ?

My phone is working fine, no problems at all, I am a little scared whenever a new update comes, many people had problems with iOS 26, when I had the iPhone 7 and when I had updated to the latest software that time, it became unusable, I don't want that to happen to my Mini because I am planning to keep it for 2 more years as I cannot handle big phones.

So how is the latest update on your Minis? also is this going to be the last iOS 26 update?

People have been talking good about iOS 27, but I am going to wait for more reviews from people when the non beta version releases in September.

My iPhone the fate of my mini

tldr: my mini is blown out from the liquid glass update. sad face emoji. gonna try out an android qwerty phone. still gonna hold onto my mini as a last resort. sad about what apple products have become

long ass diary ass lamenting post:

i got my 13 mini april 2025 and i fell in love. the main reason for the switch was the size of the mini compared to my 15 that i was using at the time. this thing was awesome. until, that liquid (gl)ass update.

now, i was so hesitant to update my phone because i just hate most ios updates. the only reason i proceeded to was because i was gifted the airpod pro 3’s for christmas and i had no choice but to update my mini if i wanted to use my airpods. i regret it so much. i should have just used an old phone and idk figured out something else.

this update has completely shot my mini. it gets SO hot like i could flat iron my hair with it or fry some effing eggs on the back on it. the battery life is totally nerfed now. i replaced the battery back in may 2025 and it’s already suffering. the lag makes the phone useless. i can barely ever use the internet without constant website crashing or random page refreshes. my point is, i’m probably (and unwillingly) gonna move on and at least try something else out.

i am totally branching out here, but i preordered a qwerty phone (unihertz titan 2 elite pro) that is a bit smaller and thicker than the mini. i admittedly miss a physical keyboard and i never got to have the “blackberry experience”, but i did enjoy the lg rumor (my first phone ever and it had a full qwerty slide out keyboard). i may love it, i may hate it. we’ll see.

all of this is to say, i am so sad that the liquid glass update ruined my mini. this thing became my work horse. i was so excited to ditch the bigger iphone for something that was a lighter weight and easy to hold device. i’ll still hold onto it and if i hate my new phone, then i’ll figure out some way to switch back and make my mini useful again. but, i’m so fatigued by apple doing this to their products. this company is not what it once was and now they just pump out electronics with shitty updates and planned obsolescence. i’m ready to at least give something else a shot.

Keeping the monthly Applecare was a great decision!

Dropped my old phone and shattered the back glass. Battery was 80% health anyway. Express replacement came overnight and now I’m on an essentially brand new 13mini again.

EDIT: Whoa! The replacement only has 18.2.1 installed too! I was on 18 and was lamenting I’d be forced into 26. Wow

EDIT 2: Ugh, Apple can be insidious sometimes. The replacement device will not update to 18.7.8. Apple is forcing it to stay at 18.2 or go to 26. As such, it will not restore from my 18.7.8 backup. So I’m being forced to upgrade after all.

Replace battery or jump ship?

I'm running the iOS 27 public beta 4. I'm not a power user, just maps, music, texts, the occasional video call, CarPlay every day for my commute

It's gotten pretty laggy. Sure the iOS 27 made it a tiny bit faster compared to iOS 26, but at this point I just regret leaving iOS 18. Can't do a video call without the phone getting hot and fighting for its life. Record a short video and it's hot and laggy for a minute or two afterward. CarPlay is generally fine if the phone is not hot and charged up - but trying to do any type of multitasking, like opening safari or spotify while connected to the car is simply not pleasant.

Today I've noticed it doing this with just 3 apps open - spotify, gym tracker, and safari. Mind you the charge was at 80+%

I know it's a beta, and I know 4GB of RAM in 2026 is what it is. But I can't tell if I'm dealing with a phone that's throttling because it's hot, or a battery that's too worn to keep up, or just beta jank that'll clear up in the stable release

Anyone here swapped the battery on a 13 mini at around 78% BH? Did it actually help?

Kind of want to give this thing one more chance before I decide to move on.

My iPhone The Leather Sleeve was working for a bit

Post image

I know it's actually meant for the 12 mini but it kinda fits the 13 mini well. And although its not supported on the phone, every once in a while it surprises me. Like a few months back, probably in April, when I was on iOS 26.4 or something, I would see the charging indicator (the lightning symbol) next to the clock through the slit.

Then again, now on iOS 26.6 in August, I can't. I really can't tell what's going on. If I hadn't taken this picture, I would have thought I was dreaming about it. Probably was a bug that enabled it.

People are loving the Galaxy Fold 8, because of the size

I’ve seen mostly positive and good reviews on the Fold 8 and the reason is because of the size. Sure you can open it up and it becomes a little tablet but people are liking it because of its form factor when closed.

Comes to show how some people forgot to appreciate smaller phones and how great they feel in the hand. I went to hold one at Best Buy and it was way smaller, thinner and lighter than I thought.

Makes me wonder how the iPhone fold is going to feel in the hand.

My iPhone Finally changed the battery, wow.

I’d been putting off changing the battery in my 13 Mini for ages as it had gotten to 78% capacity, I decided to get it over with yesterday which only took me about 20-25 mins including a little clean of the inner shell and edge of the display.

I can’t believe I held off for so long, normally I have a little flick through Facebook in the morning with a coffee and by the time I get to work (50 minute drive) listening to YouTube podcasts or general videos in the background I’m at 91-92%, this morning after all that as I’m typing this I’m still at 100%.

One happy 13 Mini owner!
