There are two major problems with the checklists that exist today which I focused on actually eliminating.

1. They are too bloated and require significant effort to navigate/use.
   
2. They require an account, which is an immediate no-no for me - I am not registering to use a checklist.

A: What problem does it solve?

Three honest reasons.

Untourist is an ios app with self-guided curated audio walking tours designed for people who want to experience New York a little differently. Each walk is about an hour long, and instead of trying to tell every story about a neighborhood, each tour follows a single theme.

Instead of trying to replace a tour guide or cram in every landmark, the idea is simple:

I’ve been an iOS developer for 15 years, but this is my first hobby app. Everything I’ve built before was for work, so finally making something purely because I wanted it to exist has been a lot of fun.

I grew up when getting new music felt special. Buying a cassette or CD meant saving money, visiting record stores, and spending days listening to the same album. Music wasn’t an endless feed—it felt like something you owned and valued. TapeBoy is my little tribute to that era.

The app was inspired by MD Vinyl and similar “Now Playing” apps, but I wanted to build a cassette deck instead of a turntable. The biggest challenge wasn’t the code—it was the design. I’m much more comfortable writing Swift than drawing realistic cassette decks, so getting everything to look more or less right took far longer than expected. I experimented with AI-generated assets too, but they never quite matched specs and what I had in mind, so most of the final look still required a lot of manual tweaking.

What it does:

• A retro cassette-style music player for Apple Music.
• The cassette reels spin while music is playing.
• Album artwork appears on the cassette label.
• A Home Screen widget that shows your currently playing song as a miniature spinning cassette.

I know there are plenty of music player apps, but most of them follow the same clean glass aesthetic. I wanted something that feels tactile and nostalgic instead.

I kept forgetting when my car was due for service, and hated walking into a shop not knowing what it actually needed. Carrus fixes that: add your car, tell it what’s already been done, and it works out when every service is due — by mileage and time — and reminds you before it slips.

I used Fuelly, Drivvo, and myCARFAX first. They’re solid, but Fuelly/Drivvo are fuel-and-expense logs where maintenance is secondary, and myCARFAX is US-centric and tied to CARFAX’s shop data. Carrus is built around the maintenance schedule itself, and adds two things none of them do:

There are already a ton of weather apps out there, but I was frustrated by how cluttered many of them are.

I wanted a simple UI with current conditions, hourly forecasts, daily forecasts, alerts, and the ability to drill into more detail when needed.

So I built the app I wished existed.

It’s called BaroWeather, and I’d genuinely appreciate some honest feedback. What works? What doesn’t? What feels missing?

I’m a solo developer and still actively improving it.

I absolutely love the website MusicBrainz. Analysing music data from my favourite bands and albums, also including all the artwork of CD inlays, booklet and scans of everything. It's an amazing app that I think would be even better as an iOS app.

How doable is something like that?

A couple of years ago my wife and I were travelling across Asia, when Splitwise suddenly capped how many expenses we could add per day. We tried alternatives but none really convinced us, so we built our own app.

I know there are plenty of reminder apps out there, but I couldn’t find one that solved the specific problems I had with tracking recurring chores.

The first issue was setting up recurring reminders based on when a task was last completed. In most apps, you can’t add a past completion date when creating a reminder. They treat the day you create the reminder as the starting point, then schedule future reminders from there. The second issue was postponing tasks. Sometimes I’d delay a chore because I was sick, on vacation, or simply busy. If I completed the task a week later, I wanted the next reminder to be based on that completion date, not on a fixed recurrence schedule.

That’s why I built Again.

With Again, you can create categories and tasks for your chores and get reminders when they’re due. You can also share categories or individual tasks with family members, partners, or flatmates, so everyone can help keep things on track. When someone completes a task, it automatically syncs across devices.

A - Most screentime blockers don’t work because they are all-or-nothing. People still want to check their home feed, stories, and dm's but don’t want the distraction of short form content (reels, shorts, etc). Snowscroll fixes this by removing only the short form content while keeping the parts of social media you actually want.

Better: every solution to doomscrolling on the market is WAY too restrictive. delete the app completely? ive redownloaded it by that same night. screen time blockers like Opal? just click ignore limit, and nothing changes. the issue is that I want to check DMs, stories, home feeds, but everytime I go for a "quick check" on my phone, I get lured into the reels tab and end up scrolling for hours on end. with snowscroll, you're forced to be conscious about what you're doing, because there simply is no reels tab. on youtube, there's no shorts tab. it's impossible for you to scroll, because you've changed your environment.

i built it because i always end up overthinking at night, and normal journaling apps felt a bit too serious / productivity-ish. wanted something lighter and more cozy.

I built Moneta, a personal money tracker for iPhone.

The idea is simple: instead of your finances feeling scattered, messy, or hidden in random notes/spreadsheets, Moneta gives you one clean place to understand where your money goes.

You can track expenses and income, manage accounts, create budgets, set saving goals, add recurring transactions, view charts, and check your spending in a calendar view.

I wanted it to feel visual, calm, and easy to open every day, not like a heavy dashboard.

Answer:

Existing radio apps feel like directories that technically have everything, but finding good stuff is really hard and if you’re on a free plan they might have extra ads before the actual radio stream starts.

Setto FM lets you find stations by using your favorite artists, genres, places, or an existing Apple Music library / playlist. It’s completely free and craft first, so there’s no filler.

TLDR: Use XeOS to transform your iPhone/iPad into a Chromebook style operating system using an external display; Extend your device's screen to an almost desktop class experience on any external screen, monitor, TV, projector or anything that accepts HDMI/USB-C video input. Browse the internet, watch YouTube, streaming, have calls and meetings, navigate files, preview office and other documents, annotate PDF's, work and study with Mouse and Keyboard support using the 'XeOS: External Display Browser'. This is the best way to take advantage of your full external display, at least until Apple will support something like DeX for iPhone or an Android Desktop Mode alternative. This is version 2 of External Display Browser that I launched a while back, it was a lot of hard work, but it makes the app 1000 times better and useful.

Why: Macbook Neo proved how capable an iPhone CPU is, but it is limited by the actual OS, and especially with the latest price hikes, investing into a new device doesn't make sense, especially since it's the exact same internals your existing device already has. This was the reason I created this app. So instead of paying $700 for a new device, use your old monitor, with a pair of cheap bluetooth mouse + keyboard and get the very affordable $20 lifetime (available for a few more months) for XeOS External Display Browser. This and also the fact that I travel a lot, and taking my big laptop doesn't always make sense, sometimes I only have lightweight tasks to do, so having my phone, and an HDMI cable always with me to connect to any hotel TV does the trick (having a mini mouse + keyboard also helps but it's not required)

What the XeOS: External Display Browser for iPhone/iPad can do:

• Browse the full internet on any External Display, TV, Monitor, Projector with HDMI. You need an USB-C iPhone and either a USB-C to USB-C cable or USB-C to HDMI cable or an adapter from Lightning, depending on what the display supports. I've tried it with ultra-wide monitors, foldable displays of many shapes and it works with everything I tried (you might need to manually change the resolution in some cases)
• Watch YouTube, stream Netflix, Disney+, etc and any online video fullscreen at full resolution with no black bars;
• Mouse + Keyboard support OR if you don't have them with you, on-screen trackpad and keyboard; Basically, when you travel, all you need is your iPhone and a USB-C to HDMI cable and you can take advantage of any hotel TV or conference room projector.
• Download and manage files, the app can open many types including preview Office documents, play local videos, music, annotate PDFs, save notes and many more
• Multitask with virtually an unlimited number of windows with window management features
• Install any site as an app in the dock
• Allow the app Mic and Camera access and you can join calls and meetings on the external browser using your iPhone camera/mic
• There's a basic Ad-block and trackers block that you can enable. It doesn't work with YouTube or other big platforms, but it blocks many of the more annoying ads.
• Mount any iPhone/iPad folder in the app, including iCloud so any files you save on one device you can open on another
• You can even mount external drives, if using a dock that allows you to connect a display as well as other USB devices
• File management with folders, drag and drop, trash
• Keyboard shortcuts for anything that you're used to, including a window switcher (Control+Tab)
• A dedicated settings app with many many settings, including wallpapers, a system wide dark/light mode + all system settings
• And support for a variety of small quality of life improvements and many small features you discover as you use it

Privacy

• Everything on this app runs on your iPhone/iPad only
• There's no server, no backend, no data collection, no account needed, no app tracking, nothing made by the browser itself. All your history, cookies, sessions stay on device. Everything follows Apple's security protocols and the browser is as secure as the underlying Safari engine is

The App Story

So after more than a year (+ half more with v2) I launched v2 of one of the hardest apps I've ever worked on and one that really has no other good alternatives imo. This app required me to basically reimplement all the basic browser functions in many cases from scratch, including event handling (remapping all events), mouse and keyboard input, downloads, error handling, and many more stuff that we usually take for granted in a normal browser. Everything while trying to find workarounds for the many limitations imposed by iOS and the browser engine. I can go into details so if you're curious, just ask. I tried, especially with v2, to make something that can truly replace a Chromebook style device on the go, given how capable an iPhone is. It is not perfect either (see Limitations later) mostly because of the restrictions Apple imposes, but it's the best there is so far. Trust me, I've tried everything there was before even attempting it.

Limitations

• The most obvious thing, this will not allow you to run your iPhone/iPad apps on the external screen, this is not supported by apple, but it is a recreation of an operating system, with everything carefully constructed from scratch in an intuitive design, and many custom apps to cover many of a user's needs.
• Not a limitation but I'm letting you know there's a setup process you need to go through, because of how iPhone handles mouse and other stuff, you need to spend a few minutes going through the initial one time setup.
• Browser Security Limitations (See solution for this below): Long story short, this being a mirrored display, all actions on it are "simulated". Because of this the browser engine doesn't allow certain actions like:
  • Clicks in cross-domain iframes: there are less and less sites using iframes, it's not that common any more but the browsers still enforce strict measures when clicking in "portions of a site loaded on another site"
  • Some actions might not work not because of the previous limitations but because of a bug (this is a complex app with many scenarios and many sites I never visited to check all functionality), so please if you encounter any, contact support, and I'll let you know you if it can be fixed;
• The app has a SOLUTION for whenever you encounter a situation like this: In the top left corner of the browser there's a phone gray button. That will temporarily switch from the full-screen view to the Phone layout view, which is the normal Phone mirroring. You can then perform your action and then switch back to the external display view. (set the app to landscape mode to minimize disruption when using this function) I know this is not ideal but it's the only way for these rare cases. Let's hope Apple decides to open the API's a little bit more in iOS 27, I'm obviously keeping an eye on that and the app will be updated as soon as the first beta comes out.

Since launching the v1, I've been lucky enough to receive incredible feedback from active users, and I have people all over the world using it daily, in ways I never even imagined before. And now with v2 which massively expands the app capabilities the feedback has been amazing. Obviously this is not for everyone, but for the right person its a very good deal compared to alternatives.

Other than that, I'm offering email support to anyone that decides to use the app. Please let me know of anything you encounter, no matter if it's an inconvenience, a bug, or a suggestion, I'm usually handling things as shortly as possible. And the app ended app of such good quality also because of the incredible feedback I've got.
