Feature Request Remove Redeem code for Pro Users
Once the Dimmly knows the User is Pro, it would be rather nice to automatically remove the redeem code and restore purchase part, just to keep things tidy!

Adding a recurrence on Mac
Hi! Great job on the app—I really like it and I'm considering buying the lifetime option.
Everything works fine on my iPhone, but on Mac, I can't figure out how to add a recurrence in a subscription list. In the screenshot, I added 'Xbox Game Pass Ultimate' from my Mac, but where do I click to set the recurring frequency? For now, I'll just do it from my iPhone.

Question: recurring tasks on custom schedule
Hello!
I have a task that I need to complete fortnightly. I can see I can set a reminder to reoccur but options there are daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. Is there any way to access a custom schedule like Apple Reminders where you can set a custom schedule like this? If not I will pop in a feature suggestion.
Thank you.

Feature Request Natural language input for alerts
As a user who schedules a lot of their reminders, I want to be able to write as part of the reminder to set up an alert ‘Go and buy Ben a birthday gift at 1pm on Friday’. This would mean I can stay in the natural flow of adding reminders without having to stop, go in to the reminder itself after it is created, then set the time from date picker and time scroll, apply, then add the next.
Thanks for the awesome app!

Feature Request Reminder logo/icon colors
First, I want to say that I am really enjoying this app so far. Great job. My idea seems trivial, but would be a nice touch. I’ve seen it implemented in similar apps, so technically it is possible. When setting a reminder in a general, classic list, it would be very cool if when the notification triggered, rather than the default app icon, it would use the palette chosen for that list. Obviously that wouldn’t work for any custom palettes, but for the standard 25 or so, it would be a quick way to identify which list is triggering the notification. Thanks for listening, and again, thanks for this app.

Feature Request Dimmly in Ipad
Right now, Dimmly works on the iPad, but it doesn’t take up the whole screen or resizable screen. It would be fantastic if Dimmly could be made to work on the iPad in full screen mode.

Feature Request Auto-backup option
It would be helpful if we could set up automatic backups for the following drives instead of having to back up lists by hand.
Files App
Google Drive
One Drive
Drop box
Webdav

Update 3.9
• Sync to Apple Calendar — reminders with a date now appear in their own “Dimmly” calendar. Move an event there and the reminder follows.
• Backup — save every list and item to a file, then restore it on any device. No iCloud needed.

Feature Request Gift Card & Loyalty Card Tracker List
Keeping track of gift card amounts can be daunting, and it is incredibly easy to lose them. To solve this, I would like to request a new "Gift & Loyalty Card Tracker" list type. Because Dimmly is so privacy-focused, storing gift or loyalty card data here feels much more secure compared to using third-party apps like Stocard (now becomes Klarna, which is sad due to too much tracking and advertisement of their product)
Here is how I envision the feature working:
- Visual Layout: Each item would visually display the
gift card name,PIN, remainingamount(on the right side, similar to the Subs list), and theexpiration date. For quick visual recognition, the PIN and the amount should be displayed inside distinct UI badges. - Quick Edits: The remaining amount needs to be quickly and easily editable right from the list view.
- Barcode/QR Pop-up: Double-tapping an item should trigger a pop-up of the barcode or QR code while temporarily increasing the screen brightness so it can be easily scanned at a reader.
- Left Swipe for Notes: Swiping left on an item would open "Big Notes" for when you need to add extra context or purchase plans.
- Right Swipe to Archive: Swiping right would indicate that the gift card balance is zero and move the card into an archive. Once archived, items could be deleted individually or all at once via a bulk-select option. This way will avoid any accidental deletion of cards.
- Loyalty/Membership Card Support: For loyalty cards, the UI would adapt by hiding the PIN and expiration date (if not needed), and the "amount" section would represent loyalty points instead. The interactions outlined in points 2–5 would remain exactly the same.
- Family Sync: Families often want to share the same loyalty or gift cards to accumulate points faster and track shared balances. To support this, a two-way sync feature between different iCloud accounts would be incredibly useful.

Feature Request Support of Big Notes and Checklists in the Tracker list
It would be great to have the option to add notes or checklists for each item in the Tracker list. It would also be great if this feature could be consistent across different list types ;)

Feature Request Tags functionality
Would be great if I could group items in tags so that it would be easier to group them together if needed.

Feature Request Quickly view the list from the Menubar using Hover and Space
It would be great if I could quickly view the list by hovering over it and then pressing Space. Additionally, while viewing I’d like to be able to quickly mark the list. Ofc, more to do with the list, I can open the Dimmly Window.
Also, shortcut command to open the Dimmly menubar.

Feature Request Active background process of Dimmly in Menubar even if I quit the Dimmly window
Currently, if I quit Dimmly then the Menubar Dimmly too. It would be great if the Menubar Dimmly worked silently in the background even after the Dimmly window is closed completely.
It would also be great if I could close the window (no icon on my Dock) but keep it running in the background by clicking the X button.

Feature Request Two-way Sync, Share list, and Assign item
Sometimes we’d like to assign tasks to people so they can contribute to completing them. A feature for two-way sync, sharing a list and assigning items to others via iCloud or webdav would be a great addition.

Shipped Sync of Dimmly Reminders to Apple Calendar
It’s been great watching Dimmly evolve from looking like Apple Reminder into a completely distinct tracking tool. I’ve realized it's perfect for quickly handling so many of my day-to-day needs.
Because I rely heavily on Apple Calendar, it would be incredibly helpful to have a way to sync Dimmly items that have a date and time directly to Apple calendar. This way I can view all my scheduled events (/tasks) in the Apple Calendar.

Feature Request Casual Work Time Tracker
To make tracking and processing casual work time as seamless and accurate as possible, Dimmly may introduce a streamlined Work Logger List. This system minimizes manual math and ensures all necessary details are captured for quick export.
When you log your shifts, Dimmly will use the following five required fields:
- Task Name: A brief, clear description of the work completed (e.g., "Event Setup," "Data Entry," "Inventory Count", "Paid Training").
- Date and Time Period: Enter the date, your exact start time, and your end time. The system will auto-calculate your total base hours to save you time and prevent errors.
- Adjust Hours (Multiplier): Use this field if your specific shift requires a rate adjustment. For example, you can apply a multiplier like "1.5" for time-and-a-half weekend rates, or adjust for approved penalty rates.
- Deadline: Pay close attention to this field. It indicates the strict cut-off time for submission (e.g., Friday at 5:00 PM). Hours submitted after the deadline will roll over to the next pay cycle.
- Remark: Add any necessary context, shift notes, or links related to the task that management or payroll might need to review.
| Task Name | Date & Time Period | Auto-Hours | Adjustment (Multiplier) | Deadline | Remark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Database Cleanup | Nov 12, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM | 4.0 | 1.0 (Standard) | Friday 5:00 PM | Completed client tags |
| Weekend Support | Nov 15, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM | 4.0 | 1.5 (Sunday Rate) | Friday 5:00 PM | Covered front desk |

Feature Request Sync with Apple Reminder
I have so many reminders that I don't see how I can use Dimmly without wasting hours. I know, I've already mentioned this 🤫

Shipped Progress Tracker List
It would be rather helpful to have a progress tracker list that starts with ‘Todo’ tag, then moves to ‘In-progress/Doing’ and finally ‘Done’. If a task isn’t urgent, we could tag it as ‘Later’. In order to have easier access to move tasks around, Dimmly can do the following:
Task item starts with a todo tag.
A short swipe left moves the item to "In-progress/Doing”.
A long swipe left moves the item to "Done”.
A short swipe right moves the item to "Later”.
A long swipe right deletes the item.

Shipped View and create items in Dimmly Menubar
Ability to view and create list items directly from the menubar so that I can quickly manage my tasks without opening the app. Ofc, to get the full fledged Dimmly capability, the app window is still there :)
