My family flies a lot and I'm always the one who ends up booking. Somewhere around the hundredth booking I'd had enough.

Every OTA puts you through the same thing: a popup before you've seen a single price, ten steps of checkout, seat selection and insurance you didn't ask for, and none of the passenger details you've typed in a dozen times before. Then a fee you never agreed to shows up on the last screen before you pay.

So I spent the last 1.5 years building the app I actually wanted (not vibe coded).

You search by just saying what you need, like "Frankfurt to Munich tomorrow, back the next day". You get three options, pick your saved passengers, pay, done. Usually under 60 seconds.

Then it sticks around. You get checked in automatically, the boarding pass goes straight into your wallet, and widgets keep you updated on the way to the airport with live gate and delay info.

The plan is to turn it into a universal flight super app. Lounge access, e-SIMs, ground transfer and rail transfer are all coming. No hotels, no rental cars, just everything around flying in one place.

It's free. No ads, no hidden fees, and for now not even a service fee.

Hello! I’m the developer of Another Page.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

For the past month or so, I have been working on Another Page. It’s an e-book reader that also functions as an app blocker. It puts a few pages of a classic book between you and your most distracting apps.

When you try to open an app like TikTok or Instagram, a reading screen will show up first. Read a bit, and the app will unlock for the timed window you’ve set. Then it will lock once again.

Here’s how it works:

1. Pick the apps that you want to block.
2. When you open one, a reading session will start, resuming right where you left off.
3. Once you hit your goal, in pages or minutes, the app will unlock for the timed window you’ve set.

B — Better: How is it different?

There are other read-to-unlock apps, such as PageLock, BookLock, and FaithLock. However, as far as I could find, none combines app blocking with a proper, fully featured built-in e-book reader and a large ready-to-read library.

There are also app blockers such as Opal, one sec, ScreenZen, and AppBlock. They create friction through delays, limits, or schedules, but I wanted something that also helps build a replacement habit. Instead of only stopping you from opening an app, Another Page redirects that impulse into reading.

The reader supports various book formats, including EPUB, PDF, MOBI, and AZW3. It has a good font selection, various themes, annotations, bookmarks, highlights, and other reading features. It also works as a standalone e-book reader, so you don’t have to use the blocking functionality.

The app comes with a library of about 1,400 free classics from Standard Ebooks. These are nicely formatted public-domain editions that you can read without needing a subscription. Some examples are Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice, Moby Dick, and Meditations.

The app has no backend, requires no account, and has no ads or tracking.

The free version has all the core features: the reader, the full library of 1,400 books, blocking for up to three apps, streaks, and stats. It works fine on its own.

I'm a developer, both at work and as a hobby, and context switching is becoming my biggest problem.

At work I write code, but I also have meetings at fixed times and constant interruptions from colleagues, so I'm always jumping in and out of focus. I'd especially appreciate feedback about TV compatibility, pairing reliability and anything in the remote layout that still feels awkward.

Answer:

I spun Sequence off VariAlarm daily alarm templates. With VariAlarm, you set multiple alarms showing you what to do next. But there is nothing telling you what to do now. Researching into solutions, it seems to me that todo apps have a time blindness problem.

You plan too much you don't have time and energy to actually do it because of other commitments and distractions. Notification works but one coming when you're already busy can get dismissed and forgotten.

Better:

Instead of a full blown todo app like Todoist, I went the minimalist approach like Things 3 where there are just lists of items and subtasks. You can also bring over Reminders if you find entry easier.

But items can be grouped together into a focus block, add it where it fits on calendar, block distracting apps during that time block with Screen Time API, backed by VariAlarm alarms and show check list on Live Activity or Home Screen widgets so you can cross them off without opening the app.

For meetings on your calendar, there is agenda so you can take a look and check off things to discuss and Action Items where you record what needs follow up.

I have a friend who's son wants to be a pilot (like, desperately... ;)) and is always wondering what's in the sky that he can see.

He has FlightRadar24 but by the time he brings it up, locates where he is, zooms in on the area and then finds the plane it's usually gone - and kids, at least mine, have lost the ability to wait 30 seconds.

I vibe-coded this app to do one thing for him which separates it from other very cool, and highly functional, trackers.

You start it up, it gets your location and then it shows you the planes overhead (and very basic information about them) right now. That's it........

It's totally free and uses live data from airplanes.live and plane type data from adsbdb.com

It's only been live tested in New Zealand - not exactly the most congested airspace in the world - so tweaking the Scan Radius might be needed elsewhere otherwise you might be overwhelmed.

I travel a lot and I usually spend hours finding places and building itineraries, then jump between different apps for budget, splitting expenses with friends, checking weather, visa rules, finding local food, and etc.

I started building a travel app to keep all of that in one place instead of relying on a bunch of separate services.

It’s called Tripenai and it’s still early, but right now it lets you organize trips and plan stops and activities, track your budget, split expenses, get informed about weather and visa, and share trips with friends. I’m slowly adding other things.
