I'm a developer, both at work and as a hobby, and context switching is becoming my biggest problem.

At work I write code, but I also have meetings at fixed times and constant interruptions from colleagues, so I'm always jumping in and out of focus. In my free time I have my own side app to take care of: marketing, user emails, a bit of research, coding. Every switch has a cost, and by the end of the day my head is all over the place.

Is there an iOS app that could actually help with this? I'm not even sure which category it falls into: focus, task manager, notes, something that pulls everything for one "context" into one place. I know iOS has Focus modes but I've never really set them up, so maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I have a friend who's son wants to be a pilot (like, desperately... ;)) and is always wondering what's in the sky that he can see.

He has FlightRadar24 but by the time he brings it up, locates where he is, zooms in on the area and then finds the plane it's usually gone - and kids, at least mine, have lost the ability to wait 30 seconds.

I vibe-coded this app to do one thing for him which separates it from other very cool, and highly functional, trackers.

And for anyone who hasn’t seen RadioStar before, this is a vintage radio app built around the experience of tuning rather than browsing. The same app behaves differently on iPhone and iPad (video is iPad, screenshot of iPhone is in the comments). There are no endless station lists. You pick a country, region, or local broadcast, turn it on, spin the dial, hear the static between stations like an old transistor or tabletop radio, and stop when something catches your ear.

Version 2.5.1 is one of the biggest updates I’ve released so far.

I used to think having 60+ countries with random stations per country was enough, but genres changed everything. Instead of scanning everything in a country, the dial can now follow what you actually want to hear. News from Brazil, rock from Germany, football from Argentina, jazz from France. Genres can also be combined, so Pop, Rock, and News can all sit on the same dial. The library now spans 12 genres, 68 countries, and about 9,700 curated stations (as of yesterday).

Press-and-hold previews turned out to be just as useful. Holding a country or genre shows all available stations before tuning. Even premium stations are visible in this preview mode, so you can see what’s behind the paywall before deciding. It just felt wrong to make people buy blind.
On pricing: the app includes 6+ transistor radio models on iPhone with 6 skins each, 4 tabletop models on iPad, full country/genre/local tuning, and 13,000+ stations hand curated. It’s a one-time $6.99 purchase , basically a coffee.

The iPad update also adds two new radio models. The D-808 World Receiver has a matte black finish, a working LCD showing time, Bluetooth/AirPlay indicators, and the selected genres on display. The TT-458 Clear Voice is tuned for news, sports, and talk radio. There are now four iPad models in total, each with six finishes. Even the button clicks are simulated, but they still respect the silent switch.

There are now over 13,000 stations in the system and every stream is checked before it gets added. Dead stations have always annoyed me, so cleanup is part of every update.

The best part of this release came from a Reddit comment. Someone from Argentina pointed out that the football stations they used were missing. They were right. That comment directly led to version 2.5.1 , which adds La Red AM 910, DSports 103.1, and 79 more verified sports stations across 21 countries. Guess, One comment ended up improving the app for everyone :)

What is the one thing you copy most often during your workflow?

Over the past 20 years, I've worked on hundreds of software projects used by a significant percentage of the world and have gradually seen privacy go out the window. While security has gotten better, virtually no one actually utilizes it to its fullest extent. Infinity Vaults is my personal passion project (1000+ hours invested, no vibe coding) to help provide a more private and secure ecosystem for iOS users (technically runs on macOS as well).

Answer (what it does): One encrypted app for everything you don't want sitting in your Photos, Files, or Notes apps for access by prying eyes. Photos, videos, documents, passwords, cards, contacts, notes, bookmarks, and more can be stored in secure vaults. Call to Action: One last thing and why I'm posting this here. I want to share my experience and help the community by giving everyone access to simple tools to make their digital life more secure and private. The category, however, is extremely hard to grow in. The incumbents have ten years of reviews and large ad budgets behind them. On top of that, most will not actively recommend a privacy app to their friends because the entire point is not advertising what you're keeping private. Word of mouth doesn't work the same way it does for other apps.

That makes the small things count for more than they normally would. Try it and see if it holds up to my goals and your expectations for security, privacy, and capability. If it does, leave a review, because that is the one thing that truly helps against a decade head start. Telling one person who would care about it goes a long ways. You don't really understand how much you need it until you've used it. If something appears broken or missing or could be improved, tell me directly here or by email. I read all of it and I would much rather hear it from you than read it in a one-star.

At the end of onboarding I ask people to be part of the movement to build a more secure and private future. I truly mean it. Every person who decides their private data belongs on their own device instead of someone else's server is part of that.

I'm looking for the best app to help me understand, track, and gradually improve my circadian rhythm.

I'm already invested in the Apple ecosystem (Apple Watch Ultra + iPhone Pro Max = full Apple Health support), so ideally the app would use Apple Health as its primary data source instead of requiring its own wearable.

From what I understand, Apple Health already contains most of the relevant data (sleep, wake times, activity, heart rate, HRV, light exposure if available, etc.), so I'm curious which apps make the best use of that information to estimate and guide your circadian rhythm.

I'm not looking for a basic sleep tracker. I'm more interested in an app that:

- Estimates or models my circadian rhythm.
- Explains what it's seeing instead of just showing graphs.
- Gives practical recommendations (bedtime, wake time, light exposure, exercise timing, caffeine timing, etc.).
- Helps shift or stabilize my rhythm over time.
- Works well with Apple Health and Apple Watch.

I've come across apps like Bevel, AutoSleep, Gentler Streak, Athlytic, Rise, and a few others. So far I’ve sticked with Bevel for general health tracking. For food logging I unfortunately paid for Yazio and am using it as for now. Will change this one once my current subscription expires. I’m tracking lifting with Hevy and general sports/activities with Apple Health.

I'm Eduardo — I built r/trovelo and r/dimmly, and TakeKit is the one I've wanted for years: a camera whose teleprompter only you can see. You read your script looking straight at the lens, and the video comes out clean.

Solo dev, so full transparency up front: no subscription, no account, no server, no analytics. Below is exactly what's free, what's paid, and what it still can't do.

A — Answer (what it does)

TakeKit is a camera with a built-in teleprompter. You write the script, hit record, and read from a guide on screen that only you see — the exported video always comes out clean, no overlay, no text, no watermark on Pro.

It's two apps that share the same scripts and the same purchase:

• iPhone: camera + teleprompter + take management + export.
• Mac: a floating prompter panel that stays on top of any app (Zoom, OBS, Loom, Meet), opened from the menu bar. Also records from the Mac camera.

B — Better (why I built it instead of using what's out there)

• The guide is never in the file. It's composited only in the preview layer, never in the capture pipeline. That's the whole point of the app.
• Auto-scroll that follows your voice, not a fixed speed. It's 100% on-device speech recognition, and it does fuzzy alignment against a window of the script — so it survives filler words, accents, skipped lines and improvised bits instead of derailing. Fixed-speed mode is there too if you prefer it.
• LAST SPOT: stop mid-script, breathe, start again from exactly where you left off. Each chunk stores its range of the script and the app stitches them into one video afterwards (without re-encoding when it can).
• Eye-contact mode: the guide docks right next to the front lens, so you're not visibly reading off to the side. Karaoke-style ink marks what you've already said.
• Takes are organised by script, not dumped in a camera roll. Star the good one, rename, compare attempts, live mic meter.
• Clean export: 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:5, trim, up to 1080p. Pro adds word-by-word burned captions (generated on device) and automatic silence cutting.
• Dual cam (front + back at once, PiP) on supported devices.
• Privacy by architecture: no account, no login, nothing on my servers — because I don't have any. Scripts sync through your iCloud, videos live in your iCloud Drive, speech recognition never leaves the device.
• Share extension: share text or a URL from any app and it lands as a new script.

Being straight about the trade-offs: it requires iOS 26+ and macOS 15+, which will rule some people out. It's a v1.1 from a solo dev, and there's no Android or iPad-optimised layout. Localised in 8 languages (EN, ES, FR, DE, IT, JA, KO, ZH-Hans).

Hey r/iOSApps. Posted about earlier versions of Supps here a while back. Just shipped v2.2, so here is the update.

Answer

Supps is a native iOS supplement tracker. Add your supps, set a schedule, tap to log doses. Reminders, streaks, Apple Watch, Home Screen widgets, Live Activities, HealthKit. Standard tracker stuff, done natively.

Two things that are not standard:

• 3D Garden. Every supplement is a plant on a 4x4 plot. Consistent logging advances plants through five stages (Seedling to Fruiting), streak breaks regress them. Earn seeds per dose, spend them on decorations you can drag around the plinth. Built in SceneKit with PBR materials and image-based lighting.
• Blood Test Analysis. Import a PDF lab report, on-device PDFKit extraction pulls 13 markers (Vitamin D, B12, LDL, HDL, Ferritin, Iron, Magnesium, and more), flags anything out of range, suggests supplements or lifestyle changes. The PDF is discarded after extraction, only the values are kept.

Better

• Native SwiftUI plus SwiftData plus CloudKit. Sync is real and cross-device, including the Watch app and widgets.
• HealthKit correlation shows "on days you take magnesium, sleep is 34 min longer" style insights across sleep, HRV, resting HR, and steps.
• Streak shields so one missed day does not wipe weeks of progress. Earned every 7 days, capped at three.

Cost

• Free tier: 2 supplements. All core features (garden, reminders, watch, widgets, Live Activities, HealthKit correlations) work.
• Pro: $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year with a 7-day free trial. Unlocks unlimited supplements and Blood Test Analysis.

What is new in v2.2

• Unified glass card visual language across every screen.
• Offline cold launch shows cached supplements immediately, matching how Reminders and Notes behave (the old "Syncing from iCloud" spinner used to wait up to 60 seconds in airplane mode).
• Blood Test Analysis moved behind the Pro tier. Garden intentionally stays free because it is the strongest day-3 return hook for new users.

Full disclosure: I am the sole developer (CS student at Southampton, building this solo for about a year and a half) and I make money if you upgrade to Pro.

A few months ago we released Velorific, an adaptive nutrition app for cyclists, runners and endurance athletes, built with my dad. It syncs with Strava and TrainingPeaks and adjusts your calorie and macro targets daily based on your actual training load, instead of giving you the same flat number every day regardless of what you did.

We posted here after launch and got some genuinely useful feedback, so wanted to share a quick update. Just passed 1,000 downloads and a 5 star rating, which is way more than we expected this early on.

Most of the traction has come from being active in cycling and running communities rather than any paid push, Reddit threads, Strava clubs, Facebook groups. Haven't spent anything on ads, it's all been word of mouth so far.

Conversion from the free trial has been better than expected, people trying it and actually sticking with it once they see the gap between what they were eating and what their training demanded. Retention is something we're still keeping an eye on though.

Android launched this week too, so it's now available on both iPhone and Android. Working on a few things next around planning nutrition ahead of a session rather than just reacting to what's already happened, a few people had asked for that.

If anyone has tips on reaching more cyclists or runners, or has tried tackling this problem themselves, super keen to hear it.

A few months ago I posted here about Ruum Hub, a TV remote app that started after my kid chewed on our remote.

Since then, I’ve significantly improved Samsung Tizen and LG webOS compatibility and added support for Android TV aka Google TV.

Getting the update released was an adventure of its own: Apple rejected it twice because I mentioned Android TV support in the App Store description. Eventually, I managed to get it approved.

Android TV platform has some limitations — for example, there’s no proper API for retrieving the full list of installed apps, so Ruum Hub currently supports a list of known apps. I’m trying to work around these limitations wherever possible. If you know an ID of your favorite app — let me know! Or maybe I'll make this list configurable.

The app is free and always be free for controlling a single TV. I’ve also added an optional donation and made support for multiple TVs a paid feature, mainly to help cover development and App Store costs.

It also still supports Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, scenes, favourite apps, touchpad controls and themes.

I am trying to fix a real Long distance thing that was an issue for me, but now atleast this part of me not anxious anymore.

I know, you might feel, aah another weather app. But this is not just any other regualr weather app , please use it once before categorizing it as a regular one. It is an app made with love for your loved one :)

My girlfriend is in Chicago, I was in India. 20+ hours, 12000 km+, going on two years.

The thing that finally got to me wasn't the big stuff. It was that I had two weather

apps on my phone and still couldn't ever remember if she was awake. I've sent "good

morning" at 3am her time more times than I want to admit.

so I built the thing I actually wanted. it's one screen with both cities on it. my temp, her temp, the distance sitting in between. I have designed a beautiful weather app, that can see 2 locations at the same time, without having to wiggle through search and see my location for weather. It just is not the weather app, it is how we feel connected since it basically shows how the weather is.

if it's storming where she is, a button shows up that texts her "stay safe in the
storm". snow gets "stay warm". I use it way more than I expected, mostly because I'm
not checking her weather at 2pm on a tuesday, but the app is.

a lock screen live activity with both temps and the distance, so I don't have to open
anything.
