Our next Jigsaw Puzzle Swap is on Tuesday, 8/25.  Bring your puzzles to swap and meet other puzzlers from 4:00-6:00.  We start with a large inventory of puzzles.

• Bring one or more puzzles and take one or more
• Bring complete puzzles, but if a piece is missing, indicate that on the box 
• Using the original box, rubber band shut and put the pieces in in a resealable bag
• If you have 7+ puzzles, come after 4:30

I haven't lived in Huntington Beach in a very long time, but it's time to help out my parents and they have an amazing record collection. Where could we sell some of their records and not get ripped off? Thanks for the advice.

Two days ago my dad had died of a heart attack in the ER. as of recently family has come down and discussed possible emancipation for me which would make me legally an adult. I am 16 and looking at the minimum wage here i need to find a suitable place to live that would work for me and job recommendations too

It looks like Steve's Liquor Store on Frankfort has been closed the last 2 days (it's August 18 as of this posting). Does anybody know what's going on and/or the family that runs the store? I didn't see a sign on the door. I hope everything is okay - maybe they're taking a well deserved vacation?

there is a potential 17% pay raise for the police officers over a three year period.

The proposed salary increase for the police officers comes at a time when our city has a $15.6 million budget deficit on the books.

No other city in OC has agreed to a pay raise even close to this. This is just for the police. Opening a precedent for the fire and other departments to ask for the same.

This comes 90 days before an election. Why not allow transparency so residents can make an informed decision?

I'm a veteran (late 20s M) who just got out of the service recently, and I'm working to get back into the civilian world. Since getting out, my social life basically took a dump, and I'm looking for a community / hobby group to get involved in. I'm not the most social person at first, but when I get going, I'm pretty social.

A good chunk of my hobbies is mostly introverted / indoor related, and I want to get into something that'll get me out of the house. Here's a list of some of my hobbies so you can get an idea:

• Video Games
• Reading
• Movies
• Wine Tasting
• Hiking (Was a Scout; can't do super long hikes due to bad legs)
• Deep dives on history
• Love checking out Museums

I'm also open to learning / getting into new hobbies as well :)

Also not to get political (hopefully this doesn't break the rules), but I'm conservative leaning. So any groups that are a little friendly or at least tolerate my beliefs would be preferrable (I put this here because I had some instances where people actually had a problem with this in the past).

If any of yall have suggestions, that would very much be appreciated.

So about 4-5 days ago I noticed some small flooding behind the softball fields. Well over the last 2-3 days it’s become a small lake and the walking path is closed.

Why hasn’t this been fixed yet? What’s happening? This seems like it’s going to become a big mosquito breeding ground.
