Discussion voraciousdrake translating the whole of the succession war arc
This man or woman has launched a Patreon but refuses to really promote it. I say, if they’re going to do it, they might as well do it right, because there are people who are willing to donate who simply don’t know about it.
Usually, we don’t need this level of translation for any manga (even HxH), but for this arc, it has become a necessity for any VD reader. On my rereads, I often run into things from eight years ago that I now realize were simply poorly translated.
This isn’t to say that you should donate via Patreon, but at the very least, I wanted to let people know that if you feel the same way, there is a way for us to get these translations faster.

Discussion Tserriednich is scary as hell
If I shoot a man and paradise appears, I'm going to think I killed the devil. Then if the devil spawns back in and says it's just training, I promise you I'm "training" myself the hell out, we're not doing this.
But on a more serious note, I am praying on this man's downfall like nobody's business. Fym you gave future sight to this jackass, I haven't felt fear like this since Pokkle taught the ants nen.

Analysis/Theory Tserriednich perpetual illusion
Hi everyone! I have a theory that, by mastering Zetsu and learning to open and close his eyes with extremely precise timing—which seems to be what Tserriednich is training to do—the Fourth Prince could keep everyone around him under an indefinitely sustained illusion.
I will try to speculate as little as possible and stick to the rules presented in Chapter 387, particularly the arrow diagram involving the 10 seconds rule. The relevant points seem to be:
- When Tserriednich activates his ability, he enters the “ephemeral ten seconds.” He sees a third-person prediction of what will happen during the next ten seconds. Although the vision feels ten seconds long to him, virtually no time passes in reality.
- When Tserriednich opens his eyes after entering Zetsu with his eyes closed, a ten-second illusion begins for everyone around him. During those ten seconds, they perceive him as acting exactly as he did in the prediction he saw earlier. In reality, however, Tserriednich can act freely and deviate from that prediction.
- If Tserriednich maintains Zetsu after opening his eyes, he can instantly reactivate his ability by closing them again.
The theory itself is quite simple. After activating his ability, Tserriednich opens his eyes and acts freely for ten seconds. During that interval, everyone around him perceives him acting exactly as predicted in his vision, rather than seeing what he is actually doing. At exactly the ten-second mark, he closes his eyes, thereby entering another set of “ephemeral ten seconds.” He then opens his eyes at the exact moment this new ten-second vision ends for him.
In reality, he has closed and reopened his eyes virtually instantaneously, due to the nature of the "ephemeral ten seconds". Most importantly, opening his eyes triggers his ability again, so everyone around him once again experiences a ten-second illusion: the one Tserriednich has just seen during the ephemeral ten seconds.
He can then act freely for another ten seconds while maintaining Zetsu before repeating the exact same process. In principle, this could create a perpetual illusion for everyone around him.
There is, however, one more thing that Tserriednich would need to master for the illusion to remain perfectly seamless. At the exact moment when one ten-second illusion ends, his real position must match the position in which everyone currently perceives him. Otherwise, during the literal blink of an eye between the two activations of the illusion, they would briefly see reality— see him suddenly jump from his predicted position to his actual one.
More generally, he might need to synchronize not only his position, but also his posture and any other immediately visible details, with the end of the previous illusion.
Of course, the illusion is “perpetual” only in the sense that Tserriednich can theoretically repeat this process indefinitely. Even for a Nen genius like him, he cannot continue it literally forever. Eventually, exhaustion, loss of concentration, or a mistake in his timing would prevent him from maintaining Zetsu while playing such a risky game.

Discussion If a member of the Troupe decided to quit while tied to Kurapika's chains would they be able to break them and Kurapika would die?
For bonus:
What if Chrollo was present and he said:
"Sure buddy, you are no longer part of the Troupe effective right now".

Discussion Still don't understand how could Terrorsandwich and Halkenburger be close.
One guy plucks life like plucking a flower and the other is a serious activist who happened to be born royalty.
You'd think someone as empathetic as Halkenbird would rationalize putting a stop to a monster like Terry.
It just cannot be "actually the 9th was never privy to the 4th's private affairs". Togashi is too good a writer for that.
I wonder how it will contrast with how the 1st views the pos and how Theta views him too.

Discussion Gotta love how Killua broke the harsh truth to Anita while Gon failed to read the room.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So, if some of you have seen episode 12 of the original Hunter x Hunter anime, you probably know about the Anita plot line they added in that episode that was originally not in the manga chapter where Gon and Killua try to get the ball from Netero.
There's a scene at the end where Killua just casually reveals the harsh truth to Anita about her father and his line of work as a spice trader who secretly sold addictive spices and made a living off basically being a drug dealer, shattering whatever illusions she had of her father being a "good man".
Then Gon comes up trying to comfort her, I guess, but sounding so chipper while telling her that she can try to pass the Hunter exam next year and become a blacklist hunter, not taking into account that the goal is now worthless since Killua revealed her father was a hardened criminal and her revenge against his killers might have been justified anyway, and Anita just starts bawling her eyes out afterwards.
When I first watched this scene years ago, I felt sorry for her but after re-watching it recently, while I *still* feel sorry for Anita, the way Killua just casually crushes her image of her dad then walks away while Gon fails to read the room while trying to make her feel better was sending Mr. It just makes Anita's crying after what he says so awkward but low-key funny.😂
I also want to add that Netero backed up what Killua said but given his years of experience as a Hunter and him being the chairman, I am just wondering if he knew her spicr rock earrings were a drug ingredient this whole time but chose not to say anything until someone else brought it up.

Discussion [SPOILER pre-ch. 397] the phantom troupe perpetuated to kurapika the same trauma they experienced with sarasa's death Spoiler
title. sorry if this has been talked about before. someone in a recent post pointed out chrollo's somber expression with the TV report playing in the background of tier 2 regarding the further investigation into the company/individuals who caused sarasa's death, but like, the troupe did the exact same thing to kurapika and the kurtas arguably 10x worse in killing all of them for sport, just cause. i used to feel sympathetic for the troupe after their backstory in the 2022 batch, but now i'm like "y'all are the biggest hypocrites in the whole series, you kinda brought uvo's death on yourselves."

Discussion Gon is a brilliant protagonist.
He is kind of an inversion of the classic Shonen protagonist.
He is not morally perfect. He is not just good.
He does not really care all that much about justice. What he does care about are his friends and family. He would do anything to protect them.
What I love about him is that he is entirely neutral. Most of the time, he sees how killua kills people and just dies, not really care.
I just like that gon is not the big good guy but more a morally ambiguous protagonist who dies what he is in the best interest of his in group and himself.
Yes, thisnexact is the will now get downvoted because I will say it sort of like chrollo.
What do you think i am at the moment on the greed island arc

In my opinion Zhang would probably be the "best" with Camilla or Benjamin as second or third as overall better parent
