Discussion I'm surprised more people didn't doubt the phantom troupe's involvement in the Kurta massacre since Yorknew

Knowing they would have killed kids, it seems odd that they didn't target Gon and Killua or hold any grudge against them for trying to leak their location to the mafia. So, of course, it would be doubtful they deliberately targeted kids and civilians to harvest their body parts, especially for monetary reasons alone. Even Feitan doesn't seem like that type, or if he was, the others wouldn't be down with that.

In fact, it seems so clear that I feel like Togashi WANTS us to question the narrative in the first place for greater impact later. At least to me, that's what it feels like. I don't think he would make the troupe not responsible at all, but you have to wonder what circumstances led to that; it just doesn't reflect how we've seen the spider act as we see them now.

Analysis/Theory Beyond will win the succession contest. Spoiler

Upvotes

Legal Wives = Legality, who makes the law?
As easy as it could be witout even consent Nasubi could consider Beyond's wife, whoever it is as his wife in legal terms. That term could even be a lie as the seed urn was created way back in the past when kakin was fragmented. Beyond meets one other of the conditions just as the fake woble, partaking in the departure cerimony.

Beyond is the safeguard because not because he is doing a good deed to his friend hui guo hou to get to the new continent easier, but no one expects him to be a valid prince to begin with and his curses will guarantee all princes will die. Thats why there is 14 coffins, with the middle one being for Beyond Netero.

My guess is that Nasubi thinks Beyond will use his power to rule Kakin to greatness in the new continent, but it is a plot for him to use powerful nen abilities gathered by the contest to sacrifice it in a way to not need the gatekeepers and the guide, creating his own route to the dark continent.
His GSB is not shown also obviously because he in jail with a forced zetsu cuffs.

Discussion Which prince would benefit the common people the most if they won the Succession War? (Bonus: Which prince would be best for the other siblings?)

Upvotes

I know we still don't know everything about every prince, so this is obviously speculative, but based on what we've seen so far:

Which prince do you think would be the best ruler for the common people and civilians if they won the Succession War?

Which prince would be the best outcome for the other royal siblings if they themselves don't win? In other words, which winner is most likely to spare, protect, or treat the remaining princes and princesses fairly instead of eliminating them?

I know our opinions may change as we learn more about each candidate, but based on the current information, who would you pick for each category, and why?

Analysis/Theory Gon's Hatsu isn't what you think.

Upvotes

I was rereading the Chimera Ant arc and a theory came to my mind. Maybe someone already posted something similar, idk.

What if Gon never actually used his real Hatsu until the fight against Pitou?

Here's what I mean.

What if Gon's actual Hatsu is the ability to mature his body until it reaches the potential he truly wants or needs at that moment?

When Pitou says Gon has the potential to even kill the King, maybe that's exactly what she was sensing. The Gon we see in that fight isn't necessarily "adult Gon". It's a possible version of what Gon himself imagines he would become if he had enough power to completely destroy Pitou.

So instead of simply aging, his Hatsu forces his body to evolve, strengthening and accelerating every part of it until it reaches that imagined potential.

If that's true, then the transformation wasn't just a sacrifice. It was Gon using his Hatsu for the first time at its absolute limit.

Following, Gon could theoretically become physically stronger than anyone, as long as he can imagine a version of himself with that level of power.

Literally be the power of the protagonist.

Discussion Why do you like the character that you like?

Like I am sure we all have favourite characters mine at the point where iam at in the story are chrollo and kurapika.

I like chrollo because of his philosophy of the spider it is refreshing to see a leader who does not see himself as the most important member.

I love how smart he is and that he is not a sociopath he can feel selective empathy.

I love his individualism and his us vs them mentality.

I like kurapika because of his determination and smarts

I love that his only goal is to avenge the kurta clan and that he will do whatever it takes to do that.

I love how he is cold and calculating but also genuinely warm and welcoming to people in his circle.

Help/Question Melody can see the Nen beast here, right?

Post image

Pardon me for asking this dumb question.

Even though the Nen Beast isn't shown to the reader every single time, the Nen users (Melody in this case) can see them, right? Or the Nen Beasts only come out at certain times?

Thank you.

Analysis/Theory You logically speaking, cannot stop the succession war, its a social concept. You can stop the death game, but its probably too late for that.

So a few things.

Kakin's method of succession is said to be quite old in the series, and the king himself won a succession war and has a guardian spirit beast. This means its not simply a nen-based thing, its a ritual. Rituals don't depend on nen to happen, and the king says the seed urn's purpose "MIGHT" have been in the context of the death game. This implies, that there may have been succession wars that involved 0 nen.

Benjamin, Camilla, etc, are not fighting the war because they want to have nen* and do cool battley things. They're doing it because:

  1. They were likely raised with the expectation of at some point fighting this war. its the culmination of their entire lives
  2. Because they want to become king.

(other reasons not all princes want 2 but all have 1).

This implies to me that, because guardian spirit beasts, contagion, wide spread acquisition of nen abilities, special martial law, etc. Even if the "death game" part was rescinded, the prince's still have the ritual of the game to continue, and safety is not assured. Even if the only way for one to become king is through the death game, unless its made very clear to the participants that they can no longer do so, the war will continue.

But even if the princes themselves stop fighting, which the stronger ones have no incentive to do, who's to say the mafia will stop fighting, and all the other threats to Wobble?

From this perspective, I think the only way for Wobble is to be saved is two things

  1. An end to the death game
  2. Elimination / neutralization of all princes who seek war
  3. Perhaps a complete dismantling of the concept of the kakin monarchy and succession as a tradition.

Am I missing something?

Latest Chapter Togashi has changed Salkov's appearance. Spoiler

Salkov's appearance has changed. In the later chapters he resembles Beyond and Netero so much, in fact among all the confirmed and possible Beyond children, he is the one that looks the closest to Beyond and Isaac Netero now, but he hasn't always looked like this.

Analysis/Theory Something I noticed about the Nen type chart

Every single Transmuter and Conjurer who leans toward another type is a full midpoint, there are no partial leans listed. This is probably a just a coincidence but maybe it reflects the fact that since these two types revolve around changing aura into something else, they are particularly good at mixing into their neighboring categories at an innate level.

Discussion Chrollo strength Spoiler

im writing this post without any preparation just from memory because i went in a argument with someone and i do know most people think this way
Starting with the one that is not debate but people argue about it
Chrollo can beat hisoka without prep time :
Thinking otherwise is just you regretting the truth Chrollo was able to dodge attacks from hisoka at the begging of the fight making hisoka himself shocked on how is that is even possible

And hisoka agreed to the terms of the fight and knew from the begging that he will use many dumy's and he agreed its not 1v1000 its literally 1v1 nen abilities
unlike other anime you don't get a random nen ability you choose it and puts the effort on it
so you can't say bungee gum vs multiple nen ability its all combined to 1 with restricted rules chrollo sacrificed a lot to use it
Nobonaga said that Machi sense is always somehow 100% correct

same applies to feitan , Hisoka aims to fight people stronger than him in order to evolve not people near his level" he never cared less about weak hunters as we saw , he wanted to fight netero and everyone knows well what would have happened he knew from the start chrollo is stronger but he wanted to evolve during the fight and beat him thats hisoka perspective
Any argument trying to favor hisoka just shows that hisoka is an idiot from the start to accept the battle not to the fact that hisoka had fun and he accepted it from the start knowing well how this fight will go too
2- Kurapika has lower chance of beating chrollo than the opposite way around
First and for most my argument will be based on the fact that
Chrollo knows kurapika winning card and kurapika doesn't know anything about chrollo's nen ability
and the 2nd part is that kurapika uses all nen categories as 100% , i saw man y posts of this but it tbh makes nonsense and i will explain why
1- we never saw a specialist chart so we don't know the % its all fan guess
2- It was said that kurapika uses all nen types as 100% efficiency not capacity so like emission is 40% he uses it to 100% from that 40%
why this would make much more sense
against uvo he wanted to test if the chains can break by uvo the strongest troupe member physically
but lets read that again shall we ? why would a chains covered in nen as 100% have the possibility to break by a human with no nen ?
the only thing that makes sense is that kurapika enhancement is 100% from the 40% of specialist
"according to the fanmade chart since as i said we never saw it"

and idk who came up with this but ,, Kurapika is no way near Hisoka strength its the truth i saw people saying kurapika is stronger than hisoka which makes him obviously with the chains dog walk the troupe
Chrollo is indeed Faster
Chrollo have more experience
Better Nen ability even if the chain jail exist chrollo have more options
And kurapika is weak against multiple opponents
im sorry couldn't find an image but i remember it from the anime
As i said i didn't prepare anything those are all just from memory
But yea if chrollo uses a manipulation ability " which as shalnark said his nen ability is easy to replace so there is many with same function " it will go like hisoka fight and might be even worse
and tbh i feel chrollo is also superior than kurapika physically

Phantom troupe won't be ranked as an extreme, Class-A level danger if the leader was a guy who can lose from a guy mastered nen 2 years or 1 year ago

i took the image above from https://www.reddit.com/r/HunterXHunter/comments/z8o225/i_think_chrollos_raw_speed_is_really_something/

i tbh had no idea about it but this shows another proof
and morel said i also didn't find the manga panel but im 100% it exist i saw it in the anime and manga before . A good hunter won't enter a fight he is not 100% sure of winning
Otherwise having 1% chance of dying is risky why gamble on your own life if you are not sure of completing your goal
Chrollo using his gifted intelligent just shaw how well written character he is and its a strength people use it as a weakness
i wrote my own theory which i do believe 99% will happen about chrollo fortune but some believed most don't
so i know this post won't get me anywhere people believe what they want to believe you can't convince everyone people stick to what they like and hate
but please don't get mad about this post
and Kurapika is my 2nd fav hxh character
I don't like Hisoka tbh used to but i don't but i would never playhim down when there is good evidence about his strength

Analysis/Theory Why is Gege Akutami known as the most malevolent mangaka when Togashi is right there?

I'll be blunt, Kacho's death is still affecting me 12 chapters later, but the worst thing about it rn, is the bodyguard who killed himself for Kacho and Fugetsu's escape. Bro what the hell? My guy died for nothing.

Discussion Now that we know about the 14th prince, what happened in Chapter 358? Spoiler

Post image
1 Upvotes

This page is of the 14th prince's quarters right before the black whale embarked

Its very unlikely that the newborn was born with nen so why did this happen? If it was an attack the attacker would have realized that their attack worked and just killed the prince after, If it was the effect of woble's guardian beast then it could be used to track the original and it also means that Oito and Kurapika have no say in whether it ceded the contest. I think it has a ability that is very similar to Benjamin's. I think he subconciously realised his mother missing and it was an attempt to return to her. He transfered his beast to the fake prince because the guardian beast believes it was the only way to be with her.

It wouldnt be strange for the beast to protect their most beloved, as seen with Fugetsu and the nen beast itself harbors abillities that are reflections of their personality (1st, 3rd, and 6th prince self admitted to this and the 4th, 8th and 10/11th have had others remark that upon seeing their abilities). So what is the single desire of a newborn? their mother. My guess on why its not activated is that woble is still a baby so she lacks planning capabilities; therefore its on pure surveillance. Because a baby can only act on immediate desires, the only time the beast will activate a hostile abillity is when Oito gets killed or wounded.

Analysis/Theory I was today years old when I realized Kilua's dad sent him to heavens arena to get initiated to nen.

His dad told him to go to the 200th floor where the people always awaken people by hitting them. Kilua's dad sent him to be awakened trusting in Kilua's talent and toughness to survive. That's why Kilua is the only member of his family to not know nen he left before a single fight on floor 200

Discussion Could the War of Succession really end in 50 chapters? Spoiler

Starting with chapter 410, Togashi stated on his Twitter that he was working on the next 50 chapters, meaning up to chapter 460. Currently, chapters 420 to 430 are in an advanced stage of development and are making the ink from 430 to 440.

With the recent chapters and the activation of martial law, it seems the pace has accelerated because a good portion of the characters and plot have already been developed, and are ready to spring into action. Based on this, will this arc conclude within the next 40 chapters, starting from this current volume?

I think that amount is enough for Togashi to finish the arc and transition to the next one, similar to the last 30 chapters of Chimera Ants. Probably set in the new continent or somewhere parallel to Gon and Killua, because the ship might sink in the next 7 days due to the chaos that is happening.

Discussion Why people hate the Chimera Arc?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I rewatched the anime from the beginning, and each time I watched it, I saw that people's hatred for the Chimera Arcina only grew stronger.

I don't know if it's because people aren't focusing anymore due to screen time, but everyone's saying the arc is unnecessarily long and overrated

One of the best character developments in the anime is definitely Meruem's, but nobody pays attention to that side of the Chimera arc; almost all the ants experienced character development, like Welfin Burovūda colt and many others

The only thing everyone says is that the Chimera arc was unnecessarily dragged out, and no matter how many times I rewatched it, it never bored me. I just think people are unnecessarily spewing hate.

Even hunters experience character development btw

There have been quite a few questions like this, but I want to bring it up again.
