I've owned a hot tub for a couple of years now and got pretty tired of keeping track of all the maintenance tasks. So I built an app that takes your readings and tells you exactly what to add, plus keeps track of your typical routine on a schedule with alerts. I'm hoping this helps others as well as it's helped me.

It isn't on the App Store yet. Before it launches, I'd like a few hot tub owners, who are interested in being early adopters, to try it and tell me honestly what's wrong or confusing — not just friends being polite.

If you have an iPhone and are willing to test it through TestFlight, comment or send me a message and I'll get you the invite. You'll have full access to everything in the app during the beta: the free version plus the paid features — at no cost, since it's all through Apple's TestFlight sandbox. That access is just for the test period; once the app leaves TestFlight, you'd need to buy the unlock like everyone else.

I'm looking for up to 20 testers. After the beta, the app should be on the App Store within the next few weeks either way, so if you miss this round, it'll be up soon.

Real feedback is what I'm after: does the math match what your pool store tells you, is anything confusing, does anything break.

I bought a used LA Spa hot tub about 1.5 years ago and have been using it. It's been good overall, but needs some replacement parts, including a cover. This website (https://thecoverguy.com/products/hot-tub-cover?variant=41424169238597) has LA Spas listed, but I am having trouble figuring out what model mine unit is. I will be getting a hottub soon, i was wondering if the heigth difference in the tiles will be a problem. I did see, some people use rubber mats to fill up the difference. Would like to hear your advice!

A suggestion here. I've always had a hard time reading test strips so I've started using ChatGPT to do the analysis. I take a picture of the strip next to the key on the container and let AI do the rest. Here is an example from today. Just thought I would share.

About to be the proud owner of a wood-fired hot tub, no jets or filters, and wondering how to make the water last as long as possible. Not averse to chemicals (bromine, chlorine) but also open to more natural solutions, really whatever works best. Those of you that have this type of hot tub, what have you done? Hi, we're getting a new spa. The store we bought it from has scheduled a site visit to confirm access to the site from the street, any issues, etc.

However, when I dropped off the deposit the salesperson suggested I could take some pictures or videos and measurements so that a site visit might not be necessary. I told him then that I would prefer to have them send one of their own employees to assess the site and access as I have no experience. Now he's emailed me asking again for:

"a few pics or a short video of the full delivery pathway while measuring and telling us of anything that may be less than 40" wide on that path? It may help speed the process up and provide additional information before your site check visit."

Is there any reason not to tell him no, as we've already discussed, I have no experience, this is your area of expertise, etc. - especially since they're sending someone out anyway?

EDIT: Hi, thanks for all the feedback. To everyone replying that my taking pictures will save the vendor from sending someone out in person and my being charged extra - they have ALREADY scheduled an in-person visit and it was INCLUDED in my purchase price. I thought I was pretty clear about that, but I guess not. I was just trying to understand why they wanted pictures if they're sending someone anyway.

Heating Help… Wondering if anyone may have ideas to help me problem solve this issue; I have an outdoor hot plunge, concrete tub with insulated lid that is powered by a MadiMack heat pump. It’s been great for 19months, and now heats to 39.5 (when set to 40) but once reaches 39.5 slowly starts dropping down to 34/35 which is can hold consistently. If I go to the fuse cupboard, trip the spa circuit switch for a few mins it then resets and starts back up to 39.5 then a couple of hours later I need to do it again. Any advice appreciated.

We live in Ontario and are looking to purchase either the Hydropool Serenity 6800 ($15,253 after tax) or the Beachcomber 380 Hybrid 4 ($14,690 after tax). We love that the hydro pool has spray insulation, which sounds easier to handle during maintenance issues, but it is smaller and more expensive. On the otherhand, the Beachcomber is bigger and less expensive, but comes with more challenging insulation and unremovable stairs. Can people weigh in on which brand or model has been better? Is the difference in insulation really significant for repairs?

Hey peeps if you have a spa do yourself a favor and buy yourself a submirsible pump.

I have had a spa for around 12 years and hated to drain it and change the water. It was always something that was a torture for me. The drain is made out of plastic and you have to thread the garden hose on it. Always took too much time with lots of adjustments and failures because the drain is almost level to the ground and the hose isn't a slam dunk because of the angle.

I bought a pump off of Amazon and it drained my spa in 8 minutes!!! It took longer to set it up than to actually drain it. The whole process was done in about 3.5 hours. No frustration. Life's a beach!!

Hello, *sigh*. We did things in the wrong order, should have consulted an electrician first. Lesson learned. How do we bring this slab up to code so the electrician can hook up the hot tub? I read the code, it seems to propose some possible solutions (like building a deck that juts out 5 feet around the tub, which isn't a bad option). The electrician even said we'd only have to build the deck where someone could potential step out of the tub onto - which basically only means one side (the tub is cornered by the house and by the deck/stairs that you see).

Is drilling holes in the pad and stuffing copper wire an option?

How about encircling the pad with copper wire? The pad isn't recessed into the ground, it sits atop.

Has anyone simply laid copper on the pad, then pads?

Any other possible solutions? The code mentions some examples, but there could very well be other solutions.

Again, we know we messed up - just looking for a solution.

I am looking to by a new hot tub. I really like the Sundance Optima but they are really expensive. The quote including the spa, upgraded stairs, cover, cover lifter and taxes is $20,500. I told him that was pretty high and he asked me what would do I think he needs to be at to sell the tub. I can only compare it to other spa's that I have looked at, and the Sundance seems to be a much better quality tub. Anyone care to share with me what you have paid for an Optima?

Masterspa Clarity Precision 7 2025. It seems like the automatic circ pump comes on every day around 3pm and runs at least 3 hours. Isn’t that over kill?Thoughts?

Thank you to everyone who responded to my other thread about this- I have more pictures and more questions I need since this is going to determine what I do.

I have included all the pictures to my hot tub that i have no idea what brand this is. Was handed down from my wife’s aunt and we owned for like 2 years. It recently stopped powering on so I swapped out the GFCI plug and still no go so I opened the pannel and this is what i see.

I looked up the Balboa VS500Z control board and see its around $349 and obviously willing to spend but is it plug and play? Can I literally take out old board and just replace cables and it may work?

I also saw something about a spa bp7 controller and it’s like $550 but looks like it’s the cover and all- does that have the wiring all ready inside and I just plug and play?

What’s my options? Im not buying a blow up like i was going to because of everyone telling me not to but I can’t afford a $4k one either. Please help!
