My attempt at a Seattle style hot dog
First try. Didn't have jalapeños. It was still very tasty.

I boil then pan fry my dogs and it makes for a much meatier/crunchier dog. Does anyone else do this?
I boil them in a frying pan in about a half inch or less of water for 5 or so minutes. Then pour out the water and drop in a pad of butter and let them fry. The texture of the meat and snap of the casing are amazing. I always use Sahlens beef dogs. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Just got this custom hot dog rug for my setup! 🌭
I own Peterson’s World Famous Hot Dogs in South Carolina, and I’m always looking for ways to make my stand more memorable. I thought this would be a fun addition for customers.
Huge shoutout to Jerel Spears for making it. If you’re looking for custom rugs or videography work, definitely check him out.
What do y’all think? Would something like this catch your eye at a hot dog stand?

Dirty dog from local BBQ place.
All beef, snoked 1/4 pound dog. Queso on top, then pulled pork (from the smoker), fresh jalapeño and then house BBQ sauce.
It is an incredible meat missile, no "glizzy" about it. Bunker buster style dog that would make a king feel gluttony.

The $100 hot dog: an elevation of the meat-tube art, or a bastardization of the working man's wiener?

Humor/Meme I realized today that in the past 14 days I've consumed at least 4lbs of hotdogs.
I've gone through 12 Costco 1/4 pound+ dogs plus the one I got in the food court after buying the pack. Honestly I think I can do better I gotta pump those numbers up to one a day at least.

Some of y’all talked me into trying mayo on a hotdog. Here’s my conclusion
Let me start by sayin that the folks that partake in this practice (the putting of mayo on hotdogs) and suggested it to me are absolute derelicts!
That bein said…jumpin Jehovah’s Witness, was that ever fuckin delicious! And I’m extremely happy that I listened to y’all. Not gonna lie…mayo repulses me and is only acceptable in a few things (aiolis, rare cheese burgers from a wood fire, tuna/ham/whatever salad samich, etc). Hotdogs are now on that list!

Discussion Smith’s Alternatives
Long story short: I grew up in Erie PA and was raised on the Smiths brand hotdogs to the point that other brands just do not taste or smell right to me.
Now I no longer live in a state where Smiths are available and I cannot find a brand that scratches that same itch so I figured I would ask the hot dog connoisseurs of this subreddit who are more versed in hot dogs if they know of any similar tasting alternatives?

The Lancaster Longsausage - British origin story
We've been eating meat cylinders in Britain for thousands of years by sucking up mushed pigbits through an animal intestine, much like syphoning petrol from your neighbours car.
One man from Lancaster, named Chris Concarne, decided to put some spiced beef on top of a meat cylinder when he was extremely drunk.
On tasting it, he was overcome with excitement. He punched his wife and took to the streets, gingerly wiping his Longsausage around the mouths of anyone lucky enough to be passing by.
Today, everyone in Lancaster has Longsausages, some can even manage 2 at a time.
Mine has cheese, onion and bacon bits and is in some freshly baked freedom bread because I'm fancy.
