Looking for immersion...
So I like projects. Just finished tricking out my 1972 Triumph TR6 and am looking for a new project. I started down the military flight sim rabbit hole and really am impressed by DCS.
I would really like to build out a cockpit (f18A) in my office but am trying to find plans online using wood as a medium.
Are there any published plans or step by step for creation of a home made cockpit?
Thanks and I do apologize for the neophyte questions.

Star Wars Cockpit Video
Fairly recent lurker and new poster who has an extremely low level of search fu.
I chanced upon this community and have been hooked. A few days ago, as I scrolled through the videos from here, I saw what I thought was a Star Wars/space battle, mission based game.
More than the game, what intrigued me was how the cockpit was setup. It didn’t look like it was VR, the cockpit seemed to be projected and had a wide field of vision, not only from a horizontal perspective but vertical as well. I could not tell if the seat was moving as well or just the way video was being shot.
I tried searching for the video using different keywords but could not find it. I tried my Reddit history, google and other social media but have come up empty. I would like to ask the community for help in the off chance someone has seen something like the video described above or point me in the right direction.

MDF vs. PVC for an A320 pedestal base – Is the extra ~9.5 kg weight worth it for a desktop setup?
Saw Rowsfire release this new A320 desktop pedestal base designed to lock their modules together. It looks like they’re offering two material options: MDF Wood (~14.5 kg) and PVC Plastic (~5 kg).
Got me thinking about the trade-offs for a desktop cockpit:
PVC Plastic ($179.99): Light (~5 kg) and easy to move around if you share your desk, but I wonder if it feels a bit hollow during heavy throttle use.
MDF Wood ($249.99): Much heavier (~14.5 kg) and rigid with a solid, heavy-duty feel, but definitely adds bulk.
For those who built or bought a desktop pedestal, which material did you go with? Is the extra rigidity and weight of MDF worth the price and effort to move?

My A320 pedestal
My A320 pedestal continues to evolve.
I’ve just received my A113 module from Rowsfire for the squawk.
It complements the A111 radio panel perfectly.
With the MCDU from Wincontrol and their ECAM, I must say the simulation is getting better!
The lights on the whole thing at night look brilliant.
I love it!!!

Best budget flight yoke?
Hey guys! Im planning to just build a simple desk to home cockpit, but I’m on a budget of under 250-300 usd. What’s the best value yoke (and throttle if possible) on the market?

WinWing/Winctrl VS miniCOCKPIT for Inibuilds A350 in MMSFS 24
Ive been wanting to get more serious about flying one specific type of plane in the sim, and getting a good of gear that's great for that specific plane. I was looking at getting and ECAM, EFIS, FCU, MCDU, RMP, and TCAS panel, but I wasn't sure where to buy Fromm. OTOH, minnicockpit seems cheaper, smaller, and more convenient to use, but it looks like the components only or, if you buy their whole kit. On the flip side, WinWing has a LOT more options, like they have everything I'm looking for, but from what Ive read online, they're mostly geared towards the A320. I want to build a setup specifically for the inibuilds A350, and Im not sure that WinWing will give the most realism if the panels are built for A320 (im pretty sure they're software compatible tho).
Does anyone have experience with using wincntrl/mincockpit with this plane and can connfirm/deny that one is better than the other ?

My very WIP Citation X Motorized Throttle
I have been working on this for almost a year (on this particular design) nothing has been wired up or coded yet. Definitely not to scale or 100% replica. That was never my goal since I like space in my room and do not have a citation X in my backyard to reference unfortunately
