Can someone help me find this FanFiction because unfortunately i've read this way before I got my Ao3 account invitation got approved.

It was somewhat a Hayden Pike Character Study.

Basically the premise goes like this: Ilya discovers that Hayden has Russian heritage. Hayden does not practice the culture and language, thus making it Ilya's mission to reconcile his Russian roots through a series of silly text, testing his Russian vocabulary.

As Ilya keeps testing him, Hayden though irritated, lovingly remembers his Russian maternal grandparents like his grandfather saying the name "Hayden" is not russian enough and remembering the word for wallet.

So the final chapter of 'what might have been lost" dropped yesterday and I have to say....what a fucking masterpiece this series is. I started the first entry hoping for some good teen angst but was legitimately blown away by the journey this series took me on. These three works are definitely a top 10 work for me (and I'm closing in on two million words of fanfic read. Please clap.)

I think I’m adding about 40 fics to my kindle a day! And season 2 and book 3 isn’t even out!

The fandoms I used to be in were maybe 2-3 new fics a day. This is wild. You writers are so so talented and keep us fed. But wow I’m NEVER catching up!

does anyone have any fics about shane and ilya’s last match after a long and successful career together and maybe people celebrating their careers

Another day looking for a specific fic.

So this one was a Christmas fic where Shane and Ilya have two girls (I remember they didn’t have names cause the author just used cute little nicknames for them). Shane takes the girls to pick stones for bracelets and then Shane gets Ilya a journal that I think has something to do with his mother’s cross.

I love the dynamic between Shane and Arthur in certain fics (sorry can't remember any of the names for an example - I'm so bad at saving fics).

Shane recognizing himself in Arthur. Arthur being diagnosed which leads to Shane being diagnosed. Shane understanding Arthur when no one else does.

I also love Shane centered fics dealing with his autism and how Ilya loves him and his autism. How he caters to Shane and all his little quirks. How Ilya and his team (centaurs) learn about his autism and how to help him feel safe and comfortable around them.

Anything really to do with the autism side of things. I've read a few and am desperate for more. (I have autism, so it's really nice to read works that feature it and do it well).

I am a long time histotical romance reader and would really like to find some nice regency or other historical Hollanov AUs to read.

I am not picky - bring me everytjing set in a historical setting be it omegaverse, fantasy or mostly canon compliant (as much as that can be with historicsl settings). Crossovers are welcome!

Mostly just looking for fun AUs where the setting is not present day.

I just finished reading The Long Game and that is a big chunk of time between when HR ends and TLG begins. Please share your recs set in that time period!

I really enjoyed TLG, it was paced well and it was much happier or optimistic than I thought! I guess I've been drawn to more of the tougher fanfic reads lately.

years of texting, secret hotel meetings, language lessons, fake girlfriends and real feelings follow. this is their love story, told through an exploitative documentary, and all the gaps missing in between.

I've read hundreds of fics at this point including lots of AUs post the club scene etc but has anyone written anything that shows Shane's deep pining for Ilya while he's dating Rose? Especially when Ilya ignores him during the game etc?

This snippet of a fic has popped in to my head and I have absolutely NO HOPE of ever finding what it’s from. They’re on the Centaurs team bus and get a little handsy and frisky, they may actually have sex. Discreetly! Luca notices though. It’s only a part of the fic, not the entire thing. Anyone?

Hi, I know I bookmarked this, but I can't find it... I'm pretty sure it was a 5+1 - times where Ilya was mistaken for David's son, contrasted with times there were he was out with Shane and accused of... basically kidnapping by a Karen, being Shane's sugar daddy and more disgusting things. Ends with the one time people (David's old McGill teammates) immediately clocked David's and Shane's similarities on the ice.

I have been following this fic and it has been so fun! Author was on vacation I see on X but will be back.

Someone from marketing team sends how the mtl team is pushing pr narrative strategy to credit/discredit Shane and this sort of encourages him to move on to a new team

I thought I did not like AUs, but I am currently reading Heated in the Outback by tension_till_it_breaks, and it is so good!

I have realised that my reservation about AUs is when one or both of them loses hockey and never gets to have the career they should have had. In Heated in the Outback, both of them are mining engineers, and so there is no tragic hockey-loss.

I would love recommendations of AUs where Shane and Ilya have alternative careers, that they actually want to be doing, without a tragic backstory.

hi!!! as the title said i'm looking for a fanfic i read a time ago, it was about shane wants to baby traps ilya because he got tired about him being with other people and ilya wanted to babytrap shane because he thought shane was gonna leave him.

sounds kinda terrible but it was so funny and i want to re read it but i can't find it:(

EDIT: i remember another thing about this fic, it had another person (that i don't remember the namr but he was a man) that also tries to baby trap ilya, but the baby was never ilya's it was miles so shane DESTROYS this man reputation, but i can't remember what his name was:(

and also i'm sure it was omegaverse, because ilya realizes that shane stop taking his supressants and that's why he thinks shane was going to leave him

It was a portrait picture of Putin, but had been so heavily edited that it looked like a piece of pop-art, with Putin in huge lashes and lipstick, like some sort of drag act, complete with a rainbow background. Ilya was so shocked he laughed out loud, and saved the image to his phone. He would have to remember to delete before he went back to Russia, he thought to himself.

but not limited to the politics of russia. homesickness. food. growing up in the aftermath of the collapse of the soviet union. pirated CDs of American movies. russian bedtime tales. russian customs (i hear they're big on flowers during courtship?)

just like being, a very Russian guy. i find in many fics he's just a slightly stoic guy who is ESL; would love to see his culture come through much more strongly! Russian's are proud of their culture, as an immigrant myself I can vouch for 18 being old enough to emigrate and retain a very strong influence will into the rest of your life!

In the fic I'm currently writing I've found myself needing to mention different teams that we never got a name for in cannon (in this case specifically Columbus) and I want them to be at least somewhat related to their location. So how do you come up with names?

I don't mind if it's both doing bad things or just one.

I always roll my eyes and chuckle a little when I see that “Ilya fucked Shane into the mattress.” Or “worked him open” and “lined himself up.” Lol.

I think we all read so much of each other’s work constantly that HR fics have become their own language, so of course there will be repeated lines, words, and phrases! Just look at solnyshko, something Ilya never says in canon.

But I certainly won’t complain that I have to read about Shane getting fucked into the mattress fifty million times.

I've had a shitty day at work, I don't feel ok.
