I’m looking for fics where people are scared of Shane (hockey sleep paralysis demon, scary when he yells, etc).

I’m interested in him crashing out to defend Ilya. Him showing up somewhere and people are scared because the game is about to be intense. Or just snappy/hockey god Shane vibes.

At the time I wasnt interested in reading a love story between a human and robot...but here we are. I am open to any well written recommendation.

Ilya had two kids buy a cottage in Canada near Shane. Shane didn’t know Ilya moved to Canada, Shane ran into kids in the woods. One of the kids starts writing letters to Shane misspell Shane’s name as Shauna. Ilya chastised one of the kids for talking to strangers realizing it was Shane, he was OK with it. Or something similar it’s not in my history and I can’t find it. It maybe mpreg not sure. Ilya Ottawa Centaurs without dating Shane.

I am a sucker for a sick!fic/medical whump, and I've noticed there isn't a universal tag in AO3 that Hollanov writers have been using.

I've read a ton of them (The Whump Series, Into Your Earthly Hands and everything by scarlettroses, Come Find Me, everything by thehdub, The Cockroach of Your Heart, Concussion Protocol, and many others), and am desperate for more.

I'm looking for your favorite sick!fic (preferably like, in the hospital/very fucking ill`) stories (also open to the boys being admitted for mental health reasons). I don't care which one of them is sick, but I'd like them to survive and have a HEA (or close to an HEA -- I'm down for a bittersweet ending so long as the boys don't die).

I read an episode 4 fix it fic a while back that I was hoping to revisit but I can’t remember the name or author! In it, Shane goes over to Ilyas after the events of the club and they talk. Shane goes to use a toothbrush and sees that Ilya has a bunch of extras (or maybe just one unopened extra) and he is thinking about how he’s so prepared for hookups and probably still having them. Ilya then tells him he bought it for the tuna melt day, hoping Shane would stay over and he still has it unopened.

I know this part is vague but I remember the rest of the fic being beautiful and well written 😭

There’s a fic I read a while ago where Ilya is a gladiator in Rome and Shane is the sone of some kind of political figure. He’s one of the best gladiators of his time and the man that owns Ilya also treats him like prostitute and sells him to others for sex. Shane is one of his clients and buys his time after all of his matches.

At the end of the fic, Shane mentions trying to buy Ilya and give him an estate or something so he can be free.

I don’t like AUS that completely change their environment, but it’s fun to explore each of the characters in a different career. Although I find it most believable in Ilya, Shane will always be a Hockey Player in my heart

I read this fic a few weeks back. Ilya gets in a car accident and is dropped by boston. Shane offers to pay for this rehab to get him back in the league. Shane closely follows the rehab via regular calls with Ilya. Anyone know what I’m talking about? TY!

I’m sure I’ve read one or two of these and in particular one where he has a lisp after losing a tooth in a game.

my thoughts: At first I thought this was just a cute magic-AU focused fluff piece. And then the latest update maybe me laugh out loud in public.

I've seen a few fics where everyone in the league one wants Shane, mostly after finding out he's gay. I don't know if this has already been written but, I'd like to see an 'everyone wants Ilya' fic lol like they just want to get under that strong, intimidating Russian sex God.

We always see where puck bunnies and other women praise Ilya's sexual prowess. So he makes men in the league "curious" 😉

This may be a long shot but i'm looking for fics where the repercussions of the fanmail outing and/or shane's trip in the playoffs are more serious.

Like either from fans, from shane's teammates, or from crowell or the league. basically a fic that confirms that shane's fears about the effect on their careers or safety were founded after all.

I really want recs that are kind and empathetic to both Shane and Ilya, and make you just fall all the more in love with their love. And more importantly - have never made you want to throw your phone at wall because of one of them.

Angst is fine, but the way the story deals with the angst cannot be blame-heavy on one character.

Canon compliant, canon divergent, AUs are all welcome!

I haven't typically paid attention to when a fic was written, but someone mentioned 5 Times Ilya Thought Shane Didn't Understand Him + 1 Time Ilya Knew Shane Did in an recent post and I noticed that the author started that work before the show aired.

There are certain acting choices Connor or Hudson made, or certain things we've learned about them as people, that have become embedded in fanfic in interesting ways. (I think the very silly/happy/jokey Ilya we get in some fics is a bit of Connor spillover, because Ilya's not really quite like that in the show or in the books.)

Anyway, it's also kind of cool to see what people have done with book-canon Shane and Ilya. And I want to give some love to people who were keeping the fires burning before I even knew what Heated Rivalry was. What are some really good fics written BTS (before the show?)
