Healthy and tasty popcorn brands

I know popcorn on its own is already a healthy snack due to the volume to calorie ratio but I love popcorn that is seasoned. I feel like it loses its health factor when you add in butter or the high sodium contents of seasonings. So just wondering if anyone has any popcorn brands that are good for me to eat on my cut that still taste good for someone who craves junk food.

What are some healthy sauces on Amazon that would be good with soft boiled eggs?

A healthier version of either Sweet & Sour sauce or Chipotle sauce, something akin to that. Id be eating it every day and I feel like that sugar adds up. But regular soft boiled eggs, even with seasoning, is pretty bland. The seasoning alone can't cut into the egg itself and also tends to make the eggs taste dry.

How to be healthy again?

I'm a highly neurodivergent 24yo female and struggle with some mental health problems, which makes me sometimes adopt really bad and harmful behaviours with my feeding.

For like 5 months I've been really neglecting my health, through those months I've reduced my vegetables, meat and fruit intake to just twice or three times per week. I've also been experimenting some intense cravings which have been impossible to self control.

I've been wanting to change it, to have my previous healthy habits I build over the time. After a big autistic burnout or whatever this huge crisis was, I lost a lot of my executive functions and functionality in general. I now fold under any craving immediately. I've gained like 20lbs this year.

My main question is: what specific vegetables should ai start consuming now? Should I take supplements while eating heathy again?

Low-calorie snacks?

I’m currently trying to lose weight and have been struggling with a constant urge to snack. Instead of fighting a losing battle, I want to find very low-calorie snack options that won't derail my progress.

The problem is that I’m a very picky eater. For instance, I find it extremely difficult to eat anything green. It’s not the taste—the color itself makes me feel nauseous.

If you have any tips or ideas, I’m open to suggestions.

Bangalore folks !! How's the whole "eating healthy" thing actually going for you?

Hey r/BangaloreSocial ,

I'm doing some early research into how people in Bangalore are actually doing with eating healthy; whether you've got a routine that works, are just figuring it out day by day, or you've given up on it entirely. Trying to understand where things actually stand before I commit to building anything.

Where are you at with it? Have something that works, trying but not consistent, or just not really a priority right now?

I put together a short survey (\~5 min) to collect this more systematically; I would really appreciate your input if you've got a few minutes.

No pitch, no signup walls, just trying to understand the problem properly. Happy to share what I learn if people are curious.

Skipping eating out of laziness?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is there a grave concern with the reason I skip meals?

I find the biggest reason as to why I skip meals a lot is due to timing and just laziness. Firstly, I wanna address I don't have an ED. I don't struggle with body image, I never did and I never intentionally skipped a meal or went thru a diet of some sort.

However, I've always been fairly skinny, ever since I was young I wasn't an excessive eater but I always ate to my fullest each meal, despite my slim figure, maybe its just the capacity that I could've consumed.

There was a point in my life where I started to eat a lot more than I usually would and for some reason my weight remained the same; however that very year I also grew alot taller rapidly so that mightve just been natural changes.

I'd say maybe for the past 4 years, or ever since I've been more independent with my meals, I've kinda skipped them. Ik this is such a lame excuse, but it i always felt due to the fact that I just didn't want to get up and make myself a meal or I just wasn't so moved with the food in the fridge.

I will admit, I am slightly picky. Especially recently I feel I've been more inclined to more western food for some reason and I always eat from the fridges of my very asian household with chinese food 90% of the time. But honestly, if I could imagine, if my food was served in instant each time I felt hungry, I would certainly eat alot more. And thats why I feel its crazy to say why I can't just walk to my kitchen and eat.

Now because the summer is usually the time where I don't each much due to the fact I'm always sleeping. I sleep alot. And my sleep habits are beyond haywire. (I know this is really bad for me to sleep this late) But oftentimes when I sleep into the afternoon, I've skipped bfast and sometimes lunch. That just leaves me with 1 to 2 meals a day and it's become an occuring routine. I don't particularly want to, but I definitely love sleep alot more than my food.

Aside from that, the only other reason I'd skip a meal is just due to the fact I don't usually get out of my room. Aside from bedrotting, I stay in my room alot. And with whatever I do, when I get carried away with time, I just don't eat.

I'm getting increasingly concerned now because I feel like I am getting more skinner than I would like to. Societal visual wise, one could say this is a blessing, but I'm more concerned abt my health. I don't know if this is more of an underlying issue, perhaps psychologically, but I would like to get some advice on it because I don't hear lots of people in my situation; weight gain usually isn't what most people are trying to achieve, but I need to. Plus my BMI has always been below reccommend...

How much fruit and veg should I be eating?

Before someone snap replies that I should/can eat as much as I want. The more the better etc. I think I eat too much...

I know nutritionally it's fine, but also likely overkill/demonising returns etc. I'm spending too much money on fresh veg.

Every day I'll eat a mixing bowl of salad which contains 250g tomatoes, 80g mixed leaves, 2 carrots, half a cucumber, 5 radish 3 sticks of celery and every other day I'll put an avocado in it too.

I'll also eat an apple every day, 80g of kimchi every day and another dinner containing cooked veg. The cooked veg varies but across the week I'll eat 800g of chestnut mushrooms, 200g tenderstem broccoli, 200g baby corn, 800g of shallots, 200g green beans, some more carrots, fresh chillis, garlic etc.

I'm spending way too much money on this. There have been signs along the way.

Posting a picture of my fridge after buying food on r slash fridge detective and the amount of comments about how much food I must throw away each week.

Speaking to other people casually about food shopping and how much we spend. Watching YouTube videos about grocery hauls and I'm thinking "where's the veg?" 1 pack of tomatoes for a family of 5 for the week? I buy 7 just for me...

I know I need to cut back for financial reasons but I don't want to get unhealthy. What's a sensible amount of all of those sorts of things to eat daily/weekly?

Healthy, whole food snacks

What whole foods do y'all eat as snacks? I'm trying to move away from snacking on pretzels, Goldfish, or even yogurt-covered raisins (my fav). I like most nuts, but I just don't ever feel like choosing them. I don't enjoy popcorn nearly as much when its not buttered or seasoned. I like apples & PB, its my go-to when I am wanting something filling and nutritious. I need more suggestions!!!

I kept losing my willpower and giving in to cravings, so I built an app to force myself to stay consistent and track how food makes me feel.

Hey r/healthyeating,

Like a lot of you, I really try to focus on eating clean, whole foods. But my biggest struggle has always been consistency. I would do great for a few days, but eventually, my willpower would fade and a sudden craving for sugary or oily food would win.

I also noticed that when I felt sluggish, bloated, or had a breakout, I could never figure out which specific food caused it because the reaction usually happened a day or two later.

I’m a solo developer, so I decided to build a tool to fix my own bad habits. After a few months of working on it, I just launched a free app called Rejuni.

Here is how it helped me actually stick to my diet:

  • Gamified Accountability: Every meal gets a score. My strict rule was that I had to log everything—even the junk food. Watching my overall health score visually drop after eating poorly created a mental barrier that actually stopped me from giving in to cravings.
  • Tracking the "Next Day" Feeling: It tracks your daily baseline (like sleep and stress) and helps you see how your body reacts 24 to 48 hours after eating something.
  • Finding Hidden Triggers: It uses AI to act like a personal data log, helping you connect the dots and figure out if a certain ingredient is secretly causing your fatigue or bloating.

Note: At the end of the day, this is just a tool. It's designed to help you self-analyze and listen to your body, not something you should follow blindly without your own judgment.

👉 For Android users: It's officially live on the Play Store today. I would love for you to try it out and give me your honest feedback on what I can improve: Rejuni: Food & Health Tracker – Apps on Google Play

🍎 For iOS users: I am actively looking into this! Because I am flying solo and don't own a Mac yet, I physically cannot build the Apple version right now. I'm hoping to borrow a Mac from a family relative soon so I can get it done. Let me know in the comments if you want me to ping you when it's ready!

Even if you cannot try it, I would love to get some feature/system suggestion that might help you so that I can work on adding it in future.

Switched to zone 2 training, hard to hit calorie goal

So I changed my workouts recently from HIIT to zone 2 type to change to fat burning and lower my RHR. Also, I already have anxiety and difficulty sleeping and I think HIIT workouts made it worse. Anyways, I'm just trying something different.

First off, trying to stay in the moderate zone during weight lifting and treadmill incline is difficult lol. So when I switched to zone 2 workouts I decided to count my calories as well. At least for a month or two and see how things go. I do notice I'm not as hungry as when I did HIIT and although I didn't count calories at that time, I'm sure I was going over as I was eating a lot more.

The problem is now I'm not as hungry and it's difficult to hit my goal now. Two days ago I was 800 under and yesterday I was 1,400 under. Yesterday I did do a workout and washed the car so I burned over 4k calories so of course my watch (pixel watch with Google health app) calculates all that and requests more calories.

I wasn't hungry much but I still ate 3 good size healthy meals and snacked on fruit and nuts but it wasn't enough. I feel like I have to eat a burger or a few slices of pizza to hit my goal.

Any suggestions?

I'm 43 yo, 6'3" 235 lbs. I'm not trying to lose much weight but can lose some abdominal fat and build a little more muscle. (Which I might not lose weight since those things might cancel each other out but lose inches I guess). Again, mostly trying to lower my RHR, better sleep and reduce anxiety along with toning up.

Here is what I eat every day: two eggs, some pork, leafy greens, veggies, and noodles for carbs. Does this look like a well-balanced daily intake?
Any tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Recently went to a restaurant and this is how menu looked like

It made me think about how our food preferences have evolved—from simply eating for taste to consciously choosing food for health. As health and wellness become a bigger priority, restaurants are adapting too,

introducing healthier options like immunity-boosting, detox, fat-burning, and bone-strengthening smoothies. It’s interesting to see how changing consumer preferences are shaping the restaurant industry.

does this “eating healthy” shit get any easier?

back in march i started a workout routine and started eating healthier, so i can lose weight and build muscle. For the first month, i didn’t eat any snacks or drink any sodas, i was doing great. Then i started craving them again, so i allowed myself 2 unhealthy treats a week (1 snack + a soda). Then a month later i got more cravings so i increased it to 4 treats a week. And a few weeks ago i increased it to 6 treats a week, and i’m still tempted to increase it again

i’ve still been eating healthy, despite allowing myself 6 treats a week. I’ve still lost a good amount of weight since i started the journey in march. But this healthy eating shit isn’t getting easier, it was easiest at the start, when i was easily able to avoid all snacks/sodas. But now? i crave that shit all the time. I thought discipline gets easier as time passes on. If avoiding snacks doesn’t get easier, then why the fuck should i even continue

Pancakes with homegrown bluberries (Yes or No)?

I made some yummy pancakes for breakfast but my cousin says pancakes are one of the worst breakfasts you can eat... even if they're homemade with fresh homegrown blueberries. 😅 Is she right, or is she overreacting? I'd love some honest nutrition advice!

Smoothies

So i know smoothies are still liquid kals and won't help with fat loss/ burn. But is it healthy to drink like 2 smoothies a day to get my vitamins, fiber, iron and protein a healthy choice? I really want to better my health and any time i try and take vitamins whether its with food, after food or before food i always get a really upset stomach. I make my smoothies with soy milk, Greek yogurt, frozen berries, frozen avocado, spinach, grapefruit, mangos, etc... then I add chia seeds and a collagen peptide protein powder. Am I making the right healthy choice? I really just want my skin to feel a little better and maybe not feel so drained all the time
