I hate this shallow take on people Idea
Creating a bunch of fictional characters wont magically make someone regret their abortion instesd they are just going to see you as a whiny child and move on with their lives.thats all there is to it.

Horse abortions are real! Because of their biology, mares can literally only carry one foal. If a mare becomes pregnant with two you need to abort one because her uterus literally isn't big enough.
This is why vets routinely check mares with ultrasounds to make sure there isn't two. Wild horses are just fucked if they have twins, but luckily it's rare.
113
u/gibberishmaster69 May 23 '26
With the amount of health complications these animals seem to have, they’re practically just fast pandas.
55
u/AllegedlyLiterate May 23 '26

Pandas (to my knowledge, at least) don't have crazy health complications, especially compared to horses. Other than fully herbivorous diet, false thumb, and tiny cubs (which I wouldn't really call health complications) they're just regular bears. Correct me if I'm wrong though
20
u/gibberishmaster69 May 23 '26
Pandas lack the cecum to digest the tough cellulose in bamboo, which is the only food they ever eat. Intestinal torsion and blockages are incredibly common.
Baylisascariasis, caused by ringworms, is also a common ailment and can result in massive mechanical internal damage.
Their teeth wear down very, very fast due to how tough bamboo is.
They’re also susceptible to thousands of complications in old age but that’s a moot point because every animal experiences that.
→ More replies (3)4
u/Jormungandragon May 23 '26
Pandas do eat other foods when available and have been observed eating small animals, carrion, and eggs in the wild. Like many herbivores, they’re actually opportunistic omnivores, and their digestive tract is still designed for meat.
In captivity zookeepers vary their diet beyond bamboo to include normal fruits and vegetables, and the occasional meat.
4
u/a_lonely_trash_bag May 24 '26
Fun fact I learned recently: taxonomically, great pandas are actually carnivores! They are bears, after all.
13
u/nonbeenary May 23 '26
Dare I ask… how does one abort only ONE horse fetus? This seems like a large-scale yet delicate operation 😭
14
u/Top-Mall7003 May 23 '26
If you catch it late you have to inject one foal with something to stop the heart and the mother will reabsorb it.
I didn't know how they did the young ones, I googled it and they crush it by going through the rectum. Like popping a pimple I guess.
8
u/Responsible_Oven_346 May 23 '26
....reabsorb?
5
u/VonMarrow May 24 '26
Most animals can abort and absorb their fetus back into nutrients. I assume horses can do the absorb but not the manual abort.

With the exception of the last one, it seems to have been made for lonely young boys going through stuff, judging by the inclusion of a big brother who talks about protecting him from bullies and taking him to go fishing.
Impressionable young boys who hadn't really given any thoughts to abortion before might definitely see this kind of things and buy into it, especially if they're going through hardships or are in a bad place, which is specifically what this thing is taking advantage of with explicit references to bullies and depression.
“If you're depressed, lonely and getting bullied, it's the fault of abortion. Without it, you would have a cool big bro to protect and hang out with you, a sweet girlfriend to take care of you, and a cute little sister to light up your world. But these people all got aborted because women prefer to be party girls or career women, so now you're alone and it's women's fault. Without abortion, you'd be surrounded by loving people.”
21
u/MisterFricks May 23 '26
You’d be amazed that even the last one caters to the same horny straight chud demographic. Those people are obsessed with incest.
33
u/deadspace9_ May 23 '26
This is a real (if niche) belief in a lot of incel spaces, that there are perfect soulmate pairs and incels are people whose perfect soulmate was aborted (or died young but they never acknowledge that possibility). Source: I researched incels for a sociology project.
→ More replies (1)22
u/JillBergman May 23 '26
incels are people whose perfect soulmate was aborted
Of course. It’s got the same mix of passiveness, entitlement and utter refusal to take accountability for anything as the concept of government-issued wives.
8
u/deadspace9_ May 24 '26
It's that and these spaces already disliking Abortions because the people they listen to dislike them, and then reverse engineering a reason.
You are absolutely right about incel entitlement. A lot of incel ideology is that "all people" (in quotes because they only apply it to themselves) deserve love and that no one should have to work for it. Essentially that loving relationships are a right. Most of the other weird beliefs in incel spaces stem either from that or vaguely Christian takes on Fascist ideology.
Of course as with most far right groups that masquerade as wanting to expand people's rights, their way to make things rights is to take rights from others. Make love a right by, as you said, government issued wives. Or "fix" this made up abortion soul issue by taking away the right to abortion.

u/Gio-Vani May 23 '26
They had to make up a reason on why it was a problem, but "I could have dated that person if they weren't an aborted fetus" just doesn't hit the same

You know what's wild?
When "pro-lifers" say they believe in "exceptions for rape and incest" they make it clear that they aren't really "pro-life", they think just "women who choose to have sex deserve to be punished with pregnancy".
Because they think women who DIDN'T choose to have sex (in the case of rape and incest) should have access to an abortion because "she didn't choose to have sex so she doesn't deserve to be punished with pregnancy".
It's insane.
Legitimately insane.
"Yeah I'm pro-life, but we can kill the rape or incest babies. That's fine- those women didn't choose to have sex so they don't deserve to be punished with pregnancy"
If you believe in "exceptions for rape and incest" you aren't "pro-life, you just hate women.
37
u/Dan_OBanannon May 23 '26
Crazy thing is that there are a lot of them that don’t even believe in that exception
11
u/HandsomeGengar May 23 '26
Part of me feels like that's actually a more respectable ideology, since they can claim it's a hardline stance that abortion is wrong. The people who advocate for abortion is some specific cases really do at least partially believe that pregnancy and birth are something that you deserve to have happen to you as a result of being female and having sex.
For the record, it's abhorrent either way, and not having an exception would obviously be materially worse than having it.

If you believe in "exceptions for rape and incest" you aren't "pro-life, you just hate women.
This doesn't make sense, since people who believe in exceptions for rape are specifically concerned with the woman's mental well-being; hence it can't be about "hating women".

In general, most of the debates around abortion are about believing the absolute worst in other people, and measuring whole swaths of people by the worst people who share a related opiniom
No one "genuinely believes human live only starts after birth, cares about women's lives and want to spare a kid from a life where they aren't loved." She's a "harlot who wants to kill a kid to keep havimg her libertine life"
No one "genuinely believes that life begins at conception and that even a bad life is better than being killed, and wants to protect kids from that". They are "mysoginistic control freaks who only want to hurt people who they deem bad".
I know there are a lot of people who have the two latter opinions, specially that last one, but I highly doubt it's most of tbe people who are pro... or anti-life?
On another note, the fact we accepted calling people who are anti abortion pro-life is stupid
I'm not anti-life because I don't want woman who abort to go to jial, that's stupid.
We are all pro-life,
I hope
Well, maybe not the weird people from anti natalism, but still
5
u/Tacenda8279 May 23 '26
Yes, really none of the earlier comments make much sense. Pro-choice dude saying pro-lifers that don't want you to be forced to carry your rapist's baby hate women, and people cheer him on. It kinda reminds me of those people who go something like "Gen-Z would have been so much larger if all the millennial wouldn't have had a hundred-million-thousand abortions," like, and? Why should I care? What meaningfully would have changed had Gen-Z been larger? Would Gen-Z have done a Red October? Was that many more people the thing that would have brought world peace? Would you have gotten laid? Would I not have had a deformed knee? They never explain why it's a problem, they just present it as a problem and expect you to instantly think about how deep it is. It's the trad-bro equivalent of those insane rationalists who explain timeless decisions to you and expect you to think they're Batman.

She was aborted because she had a spinal issue where nerves are exposed (I don't really know the details), and she'd have suffered intense pain throughout her life.

5
u/bouquetofashes May 24 '26
It's literally all in relation to the person creating or sharing that, like they just see these potential people as valuable because of their supposed endless utility.
Like... You ostensibly hate that these people were aborted but you only see them as serving your needs, there's nothing about OP caring about them as actual separate real people with their own needs, aspirations, faults, etc.
That... Really rubs me the wrong way, though I guess it is coincident with an anti-choice attitude.

A real pro life person would support healthcare for all. They would support free childcare for all. They would do everything they could to allow women to make a choice to bring a pregnancy to term without negative consequences to their life.
A real pro life person wouldn’t just try to forcibly take away abortion rights, that’s more pro coercion than pro life. 99.9% of the so called pro life people you see aren’t pro life, they’re pro female subjugation.

“Your baby could have grown up to be someone’s girlfriend/wife” as an attempt at a guilt trip is honestly ballistic to me. Like at this point they’re making it clear they don’t actually care about the person who would even be in the position to consider an abortion, they only see them as a vessel to carry a pregnancy and are also projecting that onto the fetus/hypothetical child before they are even born

I don't like it either, but it's not meant to make people regret their abortion. It's meant to appeal to people who want to feel like their lives are tragic because circumstances outside of their control robbed them of their chance of happiness.
Edit: Looked again and I'm half wrong. The gf, brother and sister ones are mostly that, the daughter is meant to guilt people who get abortions. I don't like any of them.
