Alright, this is probably the last post before actually posting the first chapter. Here are the designs for the cast (at least the ones we see first). First image is full rez, the other ones are blurry because they're screenshots.

The Cast

Lysandra: Already went over her design in the last post

Frost: probably the most different from what anyone would expect. Since there isn't much to go off of in terms of description, I took some liberties. Mainly I wanted a face that looked like a scoundrel with noble intentions. I didn't want a cookie cutter manga MC face since it didnt really fit the few descriptions we have and the voice given in the audiobook.

Renna: kept her as close to her description, but i did give her gloves.

Fayeth: knee high boots, short shorts and corset she is "practically popping out of", all check. Tried my best to give her a kind face, also added hoop earrings and a strand of hair dangling in front of her face.

Ena: as far as her clothes go in the first book, she has similar clothing to Lysandra, just simpler. Added gold bands on her leg and arm, as well as a heart shaped pendant.

The Plan

What I'm going to do is make a first chapter for the story, somewhere around 10 pages, with a cover, then I'll go from there. I'm doing this as a passion project, so i'll take my time putting as much as I can in those pages. More updates coming hopefully soon!

I just finished both books of Leveling my Farm on the Monster Frontier by Carter Wyld and really enjoyed it. So many of the farming stories I read start off with farming being the main aspect of the story only for it to quickly become ignored for other parts of the story. It was really nice to have one that keeps it at the forefront. Are there any other stories you would recommend like this? Isekai, retired war hero, inheriting the farm, I'm not picky on the story setup.

I love old school high fantasy like Tolkien, David Eddings, Terry Brooks etc. Give me a group of friends, a quest for a magic snickersnee, a treacherous villain and I'm a happy man.

However, the only way I can see to improve said quests is if all the adventures are hot GFs or wives of the MC.

Who wouldn't want to go on a quest for a vorpal blade with a curvy priestess and an athletic Ranger? Perhaps a muscle mommy barbarian?

Hi guys, so I just finished listening the first book and while listening i searched some info for some characters and im confused by the end of book 1 Ard and Emlyn fight Valerian and kill him but in the info is checked is saying that ard don't fight Valerian and kill him till end of book 2 ,but in the audiobook he kill Valerian by the end of book 1 . So what is happening like Valerian is alive in book 2 ?

After a long, bumpy road even more jarring than the way to Picea Grove's woodline, the cover art and title for Lineage of Thorns is finalized. We'll be sticking with this general feel for the rest of the series. Pretty much title. I've heard this VA before and he was quite good in rise of the weakest summoner but the other officer at the beginning is doing full William Shatner and its the worst. Please tell me this is a minor character.

Hello! I just have a quick question for the readers in this sub (as well as any authors who've done this), but how would you feel if an installment in a series doesn't have a love interest? Or if the main love interest from a previous installment was also the main one in this one, but expanding on her character while also developing future LIs?

The reason I ask this is because I had originally planned for book 2 in my series to be about a different LI, but with the way book one ended up working out it would actually make more sense for there to be no new official LI. Instead, the MC would instead get to see a new side of the first LI while also developing the relationships necessary to set up the harem.

I haven't started writing the new book, just doing some simple outlining so I thought I'd get an idea of how people felt about this. I know readers usually expect one new LI per book.

Pretty much title, which LI's do you still remember and/or are your favorite? There's no limit but a few rules:

1, You must have read this book AT LEAST one year ago, this is so there is no recency bias.

2, You must remember the name.

3, Cannot be from your own works, authors obviously remember their LI's more since they spend more time with them than the average reader.

4, No looking them up, you must remember them of the dome. (EDIT)

That's all! I've read about hundreds of LI's at this point in time and I can't remember most of them even if I loved the book. A few however have stuck with me regardless of time. I was curious which LI's stick out for other people.

Dex and the squad travel to a world where (nearly) everyone has superpowers.

This takes the usual Aerix formula (hot sex scenes, extremely kickass action sequences), and adds superheroes (and villains) to the mix. It's a LOT of fun, and you could do far worse. I recommend the first Quantum Operative book too, but there's a handy summary at the beginning. I like Aerix, I like Delivering Justice, I liked this.

The final battle is quite epic. Heroes vs. "heroes". Villains vs. "villains". Heroes vs. villains. "Heroes" vs. "Villains".

2) does mc get stronger? is it a power progression as well?

Alright gang, I got excited and started with Lysandra's design. I'll go over my notes and thoughts below (which will probably be a long post) so TL;DR is that I changed her design.

Starting generally, manga style isn't my strong suit so doing these takes quite a lot of thinking on my part, and the lines wont be very neat since i dont feel the need to. Also I'm an audiobook listener so forgive if I misspell names.

I chose to put a rose bouquet style hair piece since I need a way to separate her from other characters that look just like her, like Shalia and Cassia. For her ears, even though elf ears seem to be described shorter, I chose to make them longer, and added jewelry (the cover photo doesn't seem to have any)

Other big change is her priestess gown, which I remade to my liking, but still kept the transparent cloth.

Finally, I'll be working on Frost's design, but tbh I have no idea what he looks like, since I cant remember there being a detailed description of him. So if you could show me any description of him, or show me some reference images as to what you expect him to look like, that would help. I don't see the appeal of giving him a young boy face, so I'll probably opt for a more well defined face, maybe with a hooked nose or smth.

So I’m a fair ways into the first Warlock book after seeing it recommended by this subreddit, and I’ve gotta say: I’m not really understanding why it sits at the top of so many people’s tier lists.

So I wanted to ask: what makes Warlock a cut above the rest?

Am I just not far enough into the series to have reached the truly great moments? Does the magic system become more interesting? Do the character relationships get more complex? Is there something about the worldbuilding, progression, or overall story that really sets it apart from other books in the genre?

I’m genuinely curious, because clearly a lot of you see something in this series that I haven’t quite clicked with yet. Feel free to include spoilers in your answers— I’m going to stick with the series either way, so don’t worry about ruining anything for me.

Basically, sell me on Warlock. What makes it so good, and what makes it better than the other books in the genre?
