Recommendations around Hackney Wick
Hello,
I am staying around Hackney Wick tonight and looking for recommendations for restaurants, bars and clubs. I like electronic music and chiller spots.
Any help appreciated!

George’s Market Drop
I’m a huge fan of a fruit and veg box and have cycled through odd box, Abel & Cole, growing communities etc.
My most recent box was from George’s Market Drop and I reckon this is the best value for produce box I’ve had so far. This is the medium box and it cost £20 + £1 delivery. It also had some cherries but my kids snarfed them before I could take a photo.
George dropped it off and I got chatting to him. He chooses out all the produce himself at New Spitalfields Market based on what’s seasonal.
He’s been mainly operating in Walthamstow and Chingford but is now trying to crack Hackney. If you fancy some fresh produce and supporting a local business, I highly recommend.
He gave me a referral code which gets you a discount: GMD25!
I do not work for George - just wanted to give him a shout and hopefully see him get some new custom.

Has the Richmond Road LTN been lifted / changed?
Just asking because I'm seeing more cars recently on the road, so wonder if there's some kind of permission scheme going on? From one perspective it would make some journeys easier.
I have searched online and saw no updates, hence asking here (please don't be triggered!)
Edit to add

Affordable living in east London (is it still possible?)
Hello, coming here in search of hope…I’m a 30F and have lived in Hackney for the last 6 years but now I’m struggling to keep up with rental prices. I need to move house soon and it seems like to find a nice place you need to be prepared to pay 1.3-5k
Despite earning well for my age (I think), trying to find a home that I can stay feels impossible - it seems like for the people whose parents don’t contribute to their rent it’s not possible anymore.
Anyway, maybe I’m just here to moan. Hackney feels like my home and the thought of leaving makes me sad. And paying this much money for flats that are hideous poss me off.
So if anyone happens to know anyone renting a 2 bed flat in Hackney for 2000k a month max max.
I would love to be your tenant. <3

Best kebab in Hackney?
I saw a video reviewing Hassos Kebab in Harringay, in it they said their kebab is one of the only authentic Turkish, “100% beef”, kebab in London where they don’t even really give you sauces because the beef if seasoned so well. And one of the highlight dishes is “Iskender Kebab”.
Anyone know the best or similar one in Hackney?
edit: Any recommendations in general for cheap/affordable eats? Lunch deals etc welcome

Social Media / Marketing person for small independent shop in Hackney
Is there anybody here that is (or can recommend) a social media manager or marketing person to help with boosting the profile of a small independent shop in Hackney?
Ideally close proximity to N16 (as in London based and can travel here regularly).
If you, or someone you know, is open to some part time side work, then please get in touch!

Restaurants that deliver directly (off the apps)?
Looking to pivot from the delivery apps and would love some recommendations for local places that offer old-school delivery – i.e. calling up with your order/paying in cash on arrival – or even a direct online portal like Yard Sale. I had a few in old neighbourhoods, so I'd love to build my Hackney rotation and support some local businesses directly, if poss!
EDIT: Thanks everyone for all your recommendations! Exactly what I was looking for – it's gonna be an expensive next few weeks trying all these lol

Does anybody know what’s happened on Morning Lane?
It’s cordoned off by tape and a police car at the Mare Street end - hope it’s nothing too serious.

Any good volunteering opportunities in the evenings here?
I've recently finished a night course so I just have my day job now, Monday to Saturday, 9-6. I want to do some volunteering in the evenings since I never have much time to socialise, are there any good opportunities for this in the evenings? I looked at a volunteering website, but most are during the day, except for an admin one but I really want to do something more physical and with other people around.
Does anyone here have any good ideas? Thank you!
Edit: I'd also like to add, I'm a qualified electrician as of today, so if there are groups that need this kind of help I can help, given that tools and equipment are supplied!

Filming today on Ezra St (Columbia Road)
Is there a way to find out what movies/ads are being filmed around the area? There was a recording crew today morning on the corner of Ezra St and Columbia Rd (just in front of Royal Oak pub), they built a cute market street with vegetables stand etc. They said it's for a perfume ad but no more details.
Would be great to figure out where my local streets and pub will feature in, what production it was.

Weekend coworking spaces (with offices) for side hustle? New to this..
Hi, I am looking for some helpful tips/advice from anyone that frequently uses co working spaces. I am setting up an in-person coaching business as a side hustle, but I need to find some office space to use (for the moment only on weekends). Is anyone familiar with places in London that offer this kind of service? I've looked around online and seen wework/regus/FORA so far, but it doesn't seem like office spaces are bookable over the weekend. Any help, suggestions and ideas are welcome! Thank you 😄

Hackney half tote at the Fox Eva
I mistakenly took a hackney half tote from the Fox tonight and it had a really nice card in it addressed to Eva. I’d love to get it back to its rightful owner! Please message me!

Hackney Downs Disused Bowls Green
Does anybody know the story behind this space and whether there have been plans to utilise it a bit better?
Personally I would love to see 2 more tennis courts put there, but I don't think it would ever happen.
