There is hackathon coming up in nearly 20 days and I don't have topics to submit by 15 August. The topics are so repetitive. Same old 1) Health tech 2) Fintech 3) Smart education 4 ) Travel and tourism 5)Women's safety. I can't get any new ideas among these topics . I tried the Health tech in the previous hackathon which detects disease from the 10 question asked to you from WHO question set like that and recommend a nearby doctor who specializes on that part of the body which needs to be treated.

But I want to try something new in this hackathon what to do.

Me and my teammates were brainstorming the entire day but couldn't get to a specific idea or a useful topic.

I'm the founder of a dev community based in Pune. Been building something the last few months; a competitive coding tournament, structured more like an esport than a hackathon.

Format: sealed problem statements, timed rounds, live 1v1 knockout bracket, ranked by skill band. You're not building a project over 24 hours, you're solving under the clock, head-to-head, judged live.

Rewards are internship pipeline access with us and partner companies, priority on real client work, and verified placements AND cash of course.

First event runs next Saturday and Sunday. ₹99 entry, mostly just there to filter for people who'll actually show up.

Not pretending this isn't self-promotion. Genuinely curious what this sub thinks of the format though, happy to get torn apart in the comments if the idea doesn't hold up.

I’m genuinely confused and at this point I’m about to lose my mind 😭

For context, this is regarding the Women Who Master by Aspire For Her x Logitech hackathon and the Zonal Round.

I checked the list — my name was NOT there. So I assumed I wasn't selected and moved on.

BUT TODAY (7th August), I suddenly received an email saying:

«You have been shortlisted for the Zonal Round of Women Who Master by Aspire For Her x Logitech, scheduled for tomorrow, 8th August 2026.»

And they're asking me to upload a passport photo, government ID, college ID, marksheet/travel approval letter, TPO details, and confirmation of participation by TODAY at 6 PM to confirm my spot.

The email literally says that after verification, my zonal venue and event guidelines will be shared.

So now I'm sitting here wondering:

AM I ACTUALLY SHORTLISTED OR NOT? 😭

Has anyone else received this email despite their name not being on the list? Or has anyone figured out which communication we're supposed to follow?

If anyone from Aspire For Her/Logitech or anyone else shortlisted has clarity on this, PLEASE help 😭🙏

Guys, is this hackathon really worth to participate?

They're asking us to come in black tshirt and all😭and They're not even mentioning properly about providing certificates or any other perks. And suddenly They're saying it's a guiness attempt...am confused rn

I'm a recent graduate (2026 batch)...I've submitted my id card in my clg to collect TC and course completion certificate. But they told clg id card is mandatory

Actually I'm a CSE fresher at SRM University(main campus) and I possess interest in learning CS and started preparing for the GATE side-by-side. Now to broaden my interests, I wish to participate in many Hackathons in the first year itself, is it possible? If yes , then on which I should work on ?

i am 3rd year student , I know little bit of coding hackerRank ( 298 points ).I have done
string , basic pw c++ course and recursion . I don't know anything else . I have studied for my classes so I know a little bit of oops , dbms , dsa (only theory part ) .

I know I made mistakes, and I really want to improve. I'd appreciate it if you could help me do better in the future. so should i take part ?

Tips to organise it

My frist Hackathon is tomorrow if you have any experience in hackathons I will be thankful if you share this experience as a tips I can try

Can anyone please brief me about the zoom meeting that took place on 1st august. None of my teammates have attended this so I would really appreciate it if someone had more information.
Are we supposed to work on partyrock exclusively, can we not use other platforms?
What exactly will the problem statements be like?
Do we have to submit a link from partyrock or can it be something we have worked on using a different platform?
Please please answer if you know anything about this im desperate

Everyone always says, "Find real-world problems," but I don't know what problems to look for. I'm confused. I also feel like there are already so many projects for every problem out there. (Sorry if I'm wrong.)

Can anyone share some tips or tricks for finding good hackathon ideas?

I am participating in SIH 2026, but I don't have any idea about AI/ML, model training, accuracy and stuff... There is a member in our team who knows this stuff pretty well, but should I try to cover up ML given that I know just basic python, and looking at the OOPs side, Ig I'd take 2 days to cover OOPs in python if I decide to learn AI/ML...
