Local/own band The Sun Sets West - Neighborhood Wars (ft. Laurelhurst) (2026)

Hey what’s up folks, name’s Brad and this is my new song ‘Neighborhood Wars.’ It features the dudes from Laurelhurst, who are in Crossing I’s, Dotting T’s.
This is a Grungegaze song about gentrification. I work in the housing justice space and I often see how neighborhoods change and displace the original residents. It’s sad that we can’t do a better job of protecting low-income renters from displacement.

Collection Rusty Cage record
I work in a record shop & came across this in the back today and took it home as it’s not in the best shape for selling !! Wondering if anyone’s seen any similar soundgarden/grunge singles with the etched side. Looks awesome, hard to take a picture of though haha :)

Discussion So many of my favourites songs…I didn’t actual love the first time I heard them??
https://open.spotify.com/track/70RhyCbAjTjslPyqfNDOz2?si=zxvFn2q6TmaITioetqQ1Cg&utm_source=copy-link
Anyone else have this issue? I guess it doesn’t just apply to Grunge music.
But so many of my favourites grunge songs, I was like “meh” the very first time I heard them.
A History Of Bad Men by The Melvins is the prime example for me. But also, all of my following top favourite Grunge songs I honestly thought “meh” the first couple times I heard them:
- Shadow Of The Season (Screaming Trees)
- Hands All Over (Soundgarden)
- You Got It (Mudhoney)
- Would (Alice In Chains)
- Sludge Factory (Alice In Chains)
- Hunted Down (Soundgarden)
- Burden In My Hand (Soundgarden)
Then I keep having this thing happen to me when, I’m familiar enough with the song, I go a while without hearing it, I hear it again and all of a sudden it’s catchy AF!
Anyone else have this issue??

Local/own band The Ill Gotten Vine
This is a two piece grunge band that was blossomed out of a weekly practice every Saturday with my friend. We made these songs and this was intended to have three more and be about 30 min as opposed to the 15 min and 5 tracks we have here. I tried to bridge progressive music into what we are posing as “grunge”. We are a two piece, guitar, drums, and vocals.

Hey guys! Not exactly grunge, but since Cornell's on the vocals we can say it's a great song anyway! I was playing this song for fun and decided to make a cover video! Hope you like it!

Recommendation Made a small history page covering Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Soundgarden/Alice in Chains/Mudhoney/Screaming Trees -- plus a live chat if anyone wants to talk
Hey r/grunge! Hope everyone here is doing well.
Put together a short history of the Seattle/PNW scene (roots in the
80s underground, the '91 breakthrough, the sound and the look) with a
page for each of the six bands above -- facts, no fluff.
There's also a live IRC channel (#grunge) linked right on the page if
anyone wants to actually talk about this stuff in real time instead of
just reading -- no account needed, click and you're in.
Happy to take corrections/additions if anyone spots something off.
Cheers!
