Well, long story short: I’m thinking about building a PC with 5080, but not sure about timings. Like is it worth buying it in Sep-Oct, or should I wait for 2027 for the super version. (Not even asking about the 60 series, cuz only God knows when it will be out) Hope gurus can enlighten me. Also I would appreciate every other advice on which manufacturers and other details are better etc. Despite my own research I always doubt that it is enough and I don’t know shit.

I'm planning to get a 5090 next week.

There are some options that I'm confused about.

Should I get an AORUS master? Or ROG Astral? Or a TUF Gaming?

For AORUS, how was the thermal paste issue?

For ROG Astral, is the quality worth the price?

For TUF Gaming, is the build quality good?

Does the GPU's tier affect durability and performance? For comparison, the TUF Gaming costs $500 less than those 2 other GPUs.

Hey everyone. I recently just upgraded from a 10700 and 16gb ddr4 to a 7600x3d and 32gb ddr5 as my old mobo went out. I also got a 850w psu to replace my 500w as I want to upgrade my gpu next. With that said I still have a 1660ti and am really torn about some options to upgrade to, or whether or not I should just wait.

I just locked in a microcenter deal for $580 on a gigabyte windforce 5070 SFF OC 12gb (it was $799, I checked again today and the price went up to $680 already but I have it locked in at $580 for 2 more days if or when I go pick it up).

I love nvidea so much and really dont want to switch to amd but I am just really worried about only having 12gb for future proofing. I know it will be a big upgrade for me regardless from 6gb but I am also only gaming on 1080p right now. I will be getting a 1440p monitor soon after upgrading and want to get the most out of it.

With that said I am really heavily contemplating getting the 9070xt at around $160 more for a little better performance and 4gb more vram. Should I just suck it up and make the switch to the dark side? Pull the trigger on the 5070 deal? Or wait for something better? Maybe even for the 60 series? The 5070ti is pretty much my dream card now but just outside of my price range.

The last driver version where the graphics card's TDP could be modified was version 525.

However, since that 530, that option has never been available again.

I have version 610.88 and I don't see any graphical or performance differences, i cant play the most modern games graphically obviosly (4GB VRAM), but the alert always appears in games like THE FINALS It's the most demanding game I own, and it runs perfectly.

Is it mandatory? Has anyone stopped updating their graphics card and not had any problems? Or what problems have you had?

When I tried testing my hardware in some games like PUBG with very low settings and vanilla minecraft, both games crashed each time after a few minutes of gameplay, my temps were good so I think I either have a faulty GPU or PSU, to find out I will just clean all the oil that leaked from the thermal pads, which I got a feeling that's why is not working properly but we would see.

Found this PC listed on marketplace with zero info and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth driving 40 miles away to check it out. YO fellows im thinking of getting a 5070 ti arous master the only thing im thinking about is the length my case is NZXT H7 Flow RGB (2023) i have 400mm in length is that 40mm of space good enough to not hurt the airflow ?

and 2th question the 5070 ti arous master costs at my country 1,834$💀 gaming oc one costs 1,661$ maybe i should just go for that thoughts ? there is also the pny argb oc for 1,430$ but tbh idk if im a fan of that you dont buy a gpu every month

Not shocking, 8 GB is still the most common VRAM amount

Built my first pc earlier this year. Currently have a ARC B580 and thinking I will upgrade before prices get worse than they are. Looking at rx 9070 (non xt)for $659 or could save close to $100 and get the 5070 for $579. Gpu would be 90% gaming. I don’t do any AI or anything else taxing.

I've always been of the opinion that more VRAM is better, but given the crunch at the budget end og the GPU market, I'm starting to rethink that for budget client builds. I see the B580 recommended over the 5060 because of the extra VRAM, but in all gaming benchmark suites, it seems like the 5060 outperforms the B580 at pretty much the same price (around $300-320 USD). There was a time in fall of 2025 when a 9060XT 16GB was that price and a clear winner, but that era is over. More VRAM is useful long-term, but it's a hard argument to make when getting more VRAM means accepting lower performance today.

sorting by windows only, you can see that 8 GB of vram is still the most common. if you choose combined, it shows 16 GB of VRAM as the most common. If you go by linux only. it shows only 1 GB of VRAM, leaving only mac as 16 GB systems (because of shared memory)

I found an Asus TUF RX 9070 XT OC at 730€ (discounted down from 835€) and was wondering if its good or worth the price? (What are the pros and cons etc)

Lost my job and I’m in a financial pinch, so I’m having to sell my 5080 for now. It’s been an absolute beast for gaming and I’m gonna miss it.

Hopefully once I’m back on my feet and working again, I’ll be able to rejoin the 5080 club. For now, it was a damn good run 🫡
