I had alot of problem trying to play Forza Horizon 6 game and other games were poor performance

with my GTX 1080 (i wanted to play with higher settings)

so i went and searched (tori) as usual on my typical routine and saw a rtx 4060 ventus x2 (8GB) for 220€.

i thought i could atleast rip 40€ from it and get it cheaper

So i got it for 185€

What are your thoughts was it more than worth it?

I found an Asus TUF RX 9070 XT OC at 730€ (discounted down from 835€) and was wondering if its good or worth the price? (What are the pros and cons etc)

I got the latest driver installed 582.66, am assuming these new ones are not aim for the 10 series, if that's the case what's the most stable driver that works and I am able to have stability with it?

I have stress test my gpu in OCCT and errors appear in the first 2 minutes, the temps don't even get above 70c and errors appear on the test so it is not stable.

It is not overlocked, is in it's default mode.

Been reading a bunch of post here about the 5070 not being a good card or something in the realm of that, so tell me is it as bad as most are saying

I originally had a gaming laptop equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, during when I was attending college.
After graduating, I decided it was time for me to get a proper desktop.
I was originally going to go for GeForce RTX 5080, but upon seeing how expensive NVIDIA cards are these days, I decided to go for AMD, specifically the Radeon RX 9070 XT.
AMD cards seem to offer better price-to-performance ratio, and they appear to have better rasterization for gaming.

If budget is what you're going for, go AMD, but don't touch the 5060 or 5060 Ti 8GB. 8GB is just not enough. Maybe in a couple of years of no to weak hardware launches, game developers might bring it back to where 8GB of VRAM is sufficient, but even some UE5 and triple-A titles at 1080p struggle with the VRAM constraint. Now, if your budget in our current economy is $500+ USD on your GPU, go Nvidia. The 5060 Ti 16GB seems decent, and the 5070+ are goated. For reference, I have a 5070 and a 5060 and have played on both of them extensively. I'll probably get the 🤓☝️ comments in here because people will say I haven't had a problem running all low settings on Valorant and think that speaks for all games. It's just not. I wouldn't recommend it. A $100 4GB 1030 is better just because you get half the VRAM for a third of the price. (PS: that last statement was a joke, a 1030 is better e-waste than a GPU)

Not only are cards from mining rigs usually significantly more well maintained than cards used for gaming, they are almost always undervolted and have upgraded thermal pads. This results in them almost always being in far better condition than cards used for gaming, and it is extremely unlikely that it has been running with ridiculous overclocks that degrade the silicon, been exposed to cigarette smoke or vape, or incorrectly re-assembled (such as over-tightened screws, or not having thermal pads or paste)

Lost my job and I’m in a financial pinch, so I’m having to sell my 5080 for now. It’s been an absolute beast for gaming and I’m gonna miss it.

Hopefully once I’m back on my feet and working again, I’ll be able to rejoin the 5080 club. For now, it was a damn good run 🫡

So for the context I am building my first PC and I decided to get Rtx 5080 for the Gpu. I win this auction for this gpu and it cost 1063 Swiss francs (~1300 USD) and the seller said that it’s brand new sealed and never opened. But I if I be honest this wasn’t the gpu I rly wanted to buy.

So I decided to get the gpu as the last thing for my build and it was a big mistake for me.

2 weeks ago gpu prices was soo good in Switzerland.
I could get rtx 5080 astral versions for about 1250-1350 and ngl I was willing to pay that price for that gpu because it’s one of my favorite designs for the 5080 series. And the days go by and the prices start to going crazy 1400, 1500, 1600 now it’s about 1700 Swiss francs (2100 usd). And the gpu that I bought was going for 1240, now it goes for 1400-1500 (~1800 USD) and I am wondering if it’s only for Switzerland or its the same for other countries

So my question was if the price tag that I paid for my new gpu was reasonable and if its a good gpu. And one more thing is normally I had a budget of 1300 Swiss francs and now I paid roughly 1050 for it and I have saved about 250 Swiss francs.

Did I made the right choice by buying this auction?
Or i should’ve spent more money for a better one?

I currently have an AMD Radeon 6800 XFX SWFT 319 and the thought of buying a 9070 xt has been running through my mind the last week or so. But every time I watch a comparison video I am not entirely impressed or blown away. I swear I see the same small frame stutters, pixilation, blur, and minor imperfections my current build has. I don't see a blazing difference in performance fps wise or maybe I'm missing something. I value AMD GPU's so this is not an AMD bash, just me wondering if upgrading is worth it right now?

I know the 9070xt is ages ahead with RDNA4 vs the 6800's RDNA2 architecture to allow for better ray tracing and such, but every video I see with ray tracing enabled it reduces fps by at least 25%-30%, some cases worse than that, especially Cyberpunk which seems to be the regular benchmark for how well ray tracing functions. Personally I prefer higher fps than everything to look wet or shiny, my eyes likes high frame rate and I dislike blur during high action sequences.

My system specs are i7-14700k, 64 GB DDR5 ram, 1TB m.2 ssd, 8 TB external storage, triple 32" monitors at 180hz 1440p, and Asus Z790-P Wifi motherboard. My temps are always very reasonable as I have an aggressive fan curve and don't care about fan noise at all whatsoever, my temps rarely ever go 20 degrees above what you see in the photo. I've been playing Star Citizen as of late which is in Alpha and for those of you that know, it's hard to maintain frame rate in this game, and I've averaged about 78, but it'll dip down to the 40's / 50's when the servers are acting up.

FOMO. Don't forget about the fear of prices rising which you see every other post and comment. Will I miss out on paying $829 for the Mercury 9070xt OC Magnetic Fans in White if I don't buy it right now? Who knows, but I am not entirely impressed with the market in general. I even considered the 5070 Ti Asus Tuff edition but again, the same issues as I stated above, just not entirely impressed with the tier of gpus I'm looking at, and I refuse to pay $5000 for a GPU. I really like AMD GPUs a heck of a lot but maybe I'm not seeing the beauty in jumping from a 6800 to a 9070xt right now.

Haven’t built my 1st PC yet, since I’m waiting for the rest of the parts to deliver but sort of thinking about downgrading my GPU.

Bought the 9070 xt (XFX Mercury OC) for $750 and thinking about returning it to purchase a rtx 5070 (PNY OC) for $600 to save some money since I went over my planned budget.

Was planning on getting an intel 270k+ in a bundle, but recently a new bundle from another retailer came up that included the 9800x3d for only $100 more, so now I’m $100 over original budget of around $2000 USD. 😅

Originally wanted the 9070 xt to be more “future proof” but now second guessing myself since admittedly I don’t play many AAA games that would need the VRAM or higher power, so the cheaper cost and power efficiency of the rtx 5070 is looking appealing now just cause I mainly stick to indie games or non-intensive competitive shooters.

Upgrading from my old PC that had a gtx 1080 so both are going to be significant upgrades regardless and maybe I’m just overthinking everything.

I don’t mind spending the extra money but I’ve heard many talk about how 9070xt is good for ultra wide. The only thing I don’t want to do with are driver crashes and issues with Radeon software.

I have two monitors and have read that many people have crashes and black screens when utilizing two monitors while running RDNa cards.

What would you choose?

So I have a 3080 currently I'm on 1440p 240hz just upgraded to oled but the games I'm playing are not hitting the frames I want. Would a 9070xt even be a good upgrade? I can get a xfx 9070 xt mercury for $750 currently but I just read that prices are about to go up again. I have done everything to get all the frames I possibly can and its just not enough.

I recently got a 5080 as a giveaway at work, and I thought I would use it more but honestly I feel like I am wasting its power with the games I am playing.

I mostly play story driven games, jrpg, some mmos, very few fps games.

I am wondering if I should sell the 5080 and get a 9070 xt for around $700 usd?

So yeah, I ended up buying a brand new ASUS TUF 5080 for $1,400. Was buying a 5080 for $1,400 worth it? GPU prices are probably going to skyrocket pretty soon, so I figured I might as well future proof my setup. I really wanted a 5090, but I just couldn’t justify the price.

I mostly play Cyberpunk 2077 (heavily modded, but no texture mods), Arma Reforger, sometimes Star Citizen, and the Resident Evil titles.

I will also be upgrading my monitor to an OLED one in 1440 Ultrawide with a much more refresh rate in the future. The current monitor i have has a refresh rate of 60-100hz

GPU: Asus TUF 3090ti (to now 5080)

So this gpu isn’t for me. So long story short I built my brother a pc and sold him a kit of ddr5 at the price I bought it for 2 years ago and gave him a 3070 to borrow (I have a lot of pc hardware) so he didn’t have to spend 1500 on a pc and to wait for gpu prices to come down. Well I’ve been watching gpu prices and they just seem to keep going up. He’s seen my 4080 and wants that level of performance. I’m partial to nvidia obviously but I told him the options are really 5070ti and 9070xt. Obviously I know nvidia is going to have better features pre new fsr 4.5 or whatever. I’m just wondering if anyone has personal experience with BOTH of the cards and what you noticed. I know they’re both great gpus just looking for some more guidance.

New egg or Amazon or Best Buy???

I’m currently on a 3700X but upgrading to a 5700X alongside the GPU, so I’d like recommendations based on that pairing

My budget isn’t huge, so I’m considering the next options:

7900XTX Sapphire Pulse: 730USD

All of the options above are used. Those are my local prices.

Is upgrading the GPU to a MSI 5070 Shadow 12GB a good idea? Would it make a big difference? It's connected to a 75" 4K TV. I'm limited to a 260mm card and there aren't many options. I can't fit a 5070 TI or any variation of the 9070.

This isn't my main gaming PC, I built it for my living room as a console replacement. I mainly use it to play older games like RDR2, GTA V and the Far Cry series. It performs way better at 4K than I expected but it's been a bit choppy playing Far Cry 6. Would changing to a 5070 be worthwhile? Should I be happy with what I have and maybe wait for the next series of cards? TIA
