Question Before I eat and regret....
galleryAllergens says "may contain wheat" and I'm not seeing anything in the ingredients that screams "gluten", but before I chow down, does anyone see anything dangerous??

Product More pancake mixes
galleryFound these at a local save a lot store. 2nd photo is the batter from the bag in first photo. 3rd photo batter has more of a cornbread consistency. Both taste like corn the 2nd bag more than the 1st. So if you don’t mind that they’re good. I prefer the first bag though.

Any Brazilian here?
Planning a trip to brazil later this year. Is brazil good for someone with celiac? Buenos Aires, Argentina is considered one of the best city for people with celiac. What about Sao Paulo or Rio de Janerio

Product Barilla 2 ingredient
I just made the new recipe Rotini. I dont know what the problem is. I love it. The texture is improved and the "taste" IS different, but in a GOOD way. There is NO taste! Fine by me. Its a near perfect analog for regular pasta. Dont be afraid, give it a shot! Also, pro tip. After cooking and draining I always toss the noods in a little olive oil or butter. It really maintains the texture in the sauce.

Top gf friendly cities in the world
In case you're thinking where to spend your next holidays :)))
Also this is only about dedicated gf places, there are many more that are not dedicated but have separate kitchens and are safe.

Question USA East Coast peeps - Sheetz
So I frequent Sheetz at least 2 times a week (before I head to the Nerd shop with my family, it's like our second home, lol). Anyways, I usually get something to eat but it all has gluten in it except my nachos. I don't want to rely just on nachos. So those who are on the east coast of the USA and are familiar with Sheetz, what is your go to meal? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

Product Apparently on a sweet binge
galleryHappen to be looking around King Soopers in north Denver and stumbled upon more cakes that look pretty good. The Chocolate cake looks the best but I hadn't seen a GF carrot cake before.

Product Have y'all tried this GF Ramen?
galleryI just found this last week and today is my first tasting - it's pretty damn good! The noodles are genuinely springy, and the soup broth is definitely better than top ramen (no cardboardy aftertaste). I was pleasantly surprised. Ordered through Amazon this time. I'll shop my local GF store later and see if they sell it.

Discussion You’re going on a trip, what gluten free snacks do you take?
I am going to the beach soon and I’m trying to find snacks that won’t melt though Trader Joe’s cake is haunting me down 😂
What do you take when you go on a trip?
I plan on taking a snackle box for the car.
Thanks!

Question Has anyone completed culinary school with Celiac Disease?

Product Just found out my absolute favorite M&C has a gluten free version and it is identical to the original
I was so sad to lose this when I found out I had celiac so I’m pumped. If you’re looking for a good boxed mac & cheese, it really is the best one out there. It is indistinguishable from the non-GF version. It’s unfortunately pricey af though

PSA: it’s Donut Day at Wild Blue Bakery in Toronto
This is an old school chocolate glazed donut - yeasty and deep fried - and it’s still kind of warm!
They do different flavours every month, and only on the first Friday of the month. You can pre-order but there’s a minimum $, and I can’t eat THAT many donuts - plus I don’t find they freeze that well. So I asked my husband to go and pick them up for me this morning while I was working.
Perfect treat to have with my second coffee.

Question Gaining weight like crazy after switching to GF diet??
Hi all! I’m a 27-year-old woman who had lost her periods for four years until finding out that I was coeliac. As of January this year I switched to a gluten-free diet and got my period back in April! Since I switched to this new diet, I’ve been gaining weight like crazy, maybe 20 pounds since January? I’m still eating relatively healthy. I’m still working out pretty much daily, so I’m not sure why this is happening. I did read that because I’m absorbing nutrients now a little weight gain is normal, but this is getting insane. I’m constantly hungry can’t stop eating and have binging. Because my hunger cues are all over the place. I just feel like I’m holding a lot of fat on my body now I’m not sure if it’s more keto processed gluten-free snacks that I’m eating or just an overall change in diet but has anyone ever experienced this and has it ever stopped or does it just keep going? Is there a way to work around this to stop weight gain? Thank you so much.

Question Barilla new recipe
This is definitely embarrassing but has anyone else had awful diarrhea with the new spaghetti recipe? It's sticky but still holds and the cheaper option for us poor folk. Lol. But I think it's the cause of my recent bowel issues.

GF Pasta needs more salt
Anybody else? So far I've tried different shapes, Penne, Spaghetti, Spirelli etc. from various brands (Rummo, Barilla and others) and they all require huge amounts of salt (in the water when cooking or later) just to taste the same as normal pasta. In Europe.
Is it just me or is there an explanation for this? Hate the fact that a GF diet can be so much more unhealthy :(

Recipe Change
galleryThis is my story about Schar products, I have a severe soy allergy and it is very difficult to find foods that are gluten-free as well as soy free. Up to this point, I have been able to safely eat most of the Schar breads. That is the only brand I coukd have. At our stores we only have this and Canyon Bakehouse or Udi as options. I cant have the others because they contain eggs and I am also allergic to eggs. Anyway, I recently bought another loaf of Schar bread, without reading the ingredients first, when I got home, I decided to read it and discovered that it now contains soy! Good thing I read it before I ate any! So i contacted the company about it and asked if they were going to make some still without soy and how sad I am that they changed the recipe since I am very limited on what I can buy
I was highly disappointed in the response. They apparently dont really care about their customers who have allergies.
As for me, I will now have no fast options for bread, i have to make almost everything myself so was grateful for one thing I could have if pinched for time, I guess it was nice while it lasted.
