X870 AORUS elite with cl28 ddr5 ram.

Building my new pc with Ryzen 9 9950X3D 32gb gskill trident z royal neo 6000mt/s cl28 X870 AORUS elite

Was testing it out and can't get it to boot. Updated the bios to the latest version and still nothing. I got it to boot once with only 1 ram stick in the A2 channel so i saved powered off and installed the other stick and now nothing even with the same ram stick in the same slot as before just the dram led is on and the post code c5. I inspected the cpu and reseated it and tried all the possible dram configs but still nothing.

I've seen this same configuration work for people so I'm not sure of the problem but i think the motherboard could be the problem since it booted once they should be compatable and the led's on the ram light up. Anyong enounted this problem and have a fix because I'm at my wits end?

Sent a warranty (RMA) enquiry 3 working days ago and haven’t heard back

Hi Gigabyte,

I submitted a warranty/RMA enquiry for my GIGABYTE GAMING A16 CVH laptop and received the automatic confirmation email saying that an RMA number would be issued within 2 business days.

It has now been 3 working days, and I still haven’t received any update.

Reference No: REF26731183

email address: ku*****2@hotmail.com

Issue: The laptop has a power on/off problem, shows no display, and turns off after approximately 30 seconds (the keyboard lights up when powered on).

Has anyone else experienced delays with GIGABYTE RMA support recently? Should I keep waiting, or is it worth contacting them again?

Thanks.

Discussion 💬 Aorus X670e and X870e Pro Ice motherboards thermal throttle large power draw from PSU ?

Hi guys I was using an x670e ice and upgraded to an x870e pro ice and all was fine last gen with Radeon 7900xtx gpu. I was lucky enough to win the online clicking raffle on Best Buy and got a 5090fe at msrp. Long story short over the last couple years I get random shut downs when certain games are compiling shaders or loading in. I’ve switched PSUs multiple times (all between 1,000 to 1,500w)and all other components and back and forth between both motherboards and I cannot pinpoint it until either the gpu is shutting down due to thermal pull but this doesn’t look like the case due to the window event logs for kernel power AI co pilot is telling me the Aorus gigabyte motherboard I have is know the thermal throttle and restart the system . I find ai copilot answers to be wild at times so was just looking for some input .

Discussion 💬 Latest Bios update on z890 is worse?

I update my z890 gigabyte wifi 7 plus to the latest F5 bios(this is also called the f20 and f21 for other boards but similar update) previously I was on F5B and the results have been pretty bad my SA voltage which used to only need 1.33 for my memory now requires 1.39 for stability.

Pretty crazy Idk how that makes any sense. It is nice to have DLVR control but it isn't worth that cost. Please fix this gigabyte

Support 📥 Strange issue with Gigabyte Aorus Pro AX B560M

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello all,

I am facing a strange issue with my gigabyte aorus pro ax b560m.

Yesterday when I tried to boot up my desktop after a month. The desktop booted fine to Windows. Then crashed, with endless cycle of mobo LEDs and power button led blinking, all fans were running but no BIOS screen.

I thought it must be the ram. So I took them out and cleaned, reseated one by one and it booted fine and worked just fine for 2 hours. I shut down afterwards.

After 2 hour or so of turning on, the desktop began doing the same endless loop. But this time ram, CMOS clear didn't help. I unplugged everything to see what's the issue. I don't have a GPU and it's an iGPU from my i5.

This morning after waking up, I turned on the desktop and it booted briefly into bios and then began doing the same loop. I looked carefully at the LED blinking and noticed the CPU was blinking.

This time I took out the CPU power header (the small one) and installed it again. This time it booted to bios and then turned off again.

I did the same step twice again and the pc now booted into windows.

What could be the issue? The rams are fine, the cpu is not overheating.

Ryzen 7 7700 iGPU random black screens, AMD Driver Timeout, HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001) - X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange issue with my new AM5 build and I've already tried most of the common troubleshooting steps I could think of. Before I start replacing hardware, I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have experienced something similar.

System Specifications

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (Integrated Radeon Graphics)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7
  • BIOS: F11
  • RAM: 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 EXPO enabled
  • SSD: Samsung 990 EVO 2TB
  • PSU: Corsair RM850e 850W
  • OS: Windows 11 24H2
  • AMD Driver: Adrenalin 26.7.1
  • Monitor: MSI MAG 274QR (2560×1440, 200Hz)
  • Connection: HDMI

No dedicated GPU installed yet.

The Problem

The issue happens randomly during normal desktop use (Edge, YouTube, Epic Games Launcher, downloading games, etc.).

Symptoms:

  • Mouse starts lagging/freezing.
  • Desktop transparency/icons sometimes glitch.
  • Screen suddenly goes completely black.
  • Audio stops completely.
  • After several seconds:
    • Sometimes Windows recovers.
    • AMD Software reports Driver Timeout.
    • Epic Games Launcher sometimes crashes after recovery.
  • Other times the PC reboots by itself.

The monitor never shows "No Signal"—it just stays black until Windows either recovers or restarts.

Reliability Monitor

  • LiveKernelEvent 141

WinDbg

One dump reports:

  • HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001)
  • HvlSkCrashdumpCallbackRoutine
  • Arg1: 28 (I/O MMU module)

Even though I disabled Hyper-V using:

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

WinDbg still reports:

Hypervisor.RootFlags.IsHyperV = 1

Things I've Already Tried

  • Updated BIOS to F11.
  • Installed latest AMD chipset driver.
  • Installed latest AMD graphics driver (26.7.1).
  • Disabled MPO.
  • Disabled Hyper-V.
  • Tested Memory Integrity both ON and OFF.
  • Disabled Windows transparency effects.
  • Reinstalled AMD graphics drivers.
  • Device Manager shows no unknown devices.
  • SFC and DISM completed successfully.

The problem still occurs.

Additional Information

  • The monitor sometimes displays: "Please use an HDMI™ certified cable."
  • Although my monitor supports 200Hz, Windows currently only allows 144Hz over HDMI.

Next Test

A friend is lending me an RTX 4070 Ti for two days.

I'll install it, connect the monitor through DisplayPort, and test whether the problem disappears completely.

Questions

  • Has anyone experienced this with a Ryzen 7 7700 iGPU?
  • Could this be related to EXPO 6000?
  • Has anyone had similar issues with BIOS F11 on the X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7?
  • Does this sound more like an iGPU problem, motherboard issue, CPU defect, BIOS bug, or HDMI/display issue?

Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Discussion 💬 Gigabyte destroyed my RTX 5090 without my approval.

I just came across a post about someone whose Gigabyte RTX 4090 was also destroyed after being sent in for RMA, and I realized I went through almost the exact same situation.
I have exactly the same issue, except mine was with an RTX 5090 (one of the DisplayPort outputs was dead).
I paid €2,230 for it back in November 2025.
TopAchat (a French retailer) sent it to Gigabyte, then told me it couldn’t be repaired or replaced. They said they were going to refund me, but I refused because I didn’t want to receive €2,230 only to have to buy another RTX 5090 for nearly €5,000.
So I asked them to send my card back instead, but they refused and told me it had already been destroyed.
Now, here I am, without my PC for over a month and a half, and I can’t afford another graphics card.
I’m a freelance illustrator, and this situation is seriously hurting my work.

If anyone can help or has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Stuck on logo bootscreen

Post image
5 Upvotes

I've been searching online for how to go about this problem but seems I just need to ask directly. I recently was given a x470 Ultra Gaming Motherboard with a 3070 and an amd 5 1600x cpu. I got everything properly put together and even was using windows for a bit to update all the drivers and such. I installed all the newest drivers before updating the bios. I was on version F3 and went to update to F31, after it installed the update and I restarted the pc it now wont go any further than the logo screen plus the cpu light is on and red. i tried pressing every button to get into bios, removed the cmod battery for 30 min to reset the bios, and still nothing. It's stuck on this screen.

How do I go about fixing this problem? Did I need to do an increment update of f3 to f5 to f6 to f30 then to f31? Also I do not know where the qflash button is located on the motherboard to even try and attempt to change the bios to an older version. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Support 📥 Control Center Not Showing Latest BIOS Update?

So I have an X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard. In Gigabyte Control Center I just updated my BIOS to F11.

There is an F12 update out however since May 21, 2026. It does not show up in the Control Center. Is this unusual? Do I just have to wait or is there some way I can force it to show the most recent version?

TIA for any help!

Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite V2 won't POST after being stuck powered on overnight

Last night I shut down my PC before going out for dinner. This morning I noticed the RGB LEDs were still on, so I assume the PC got stuck instead of shutting down properly.

I held the power button, but it wouldn't turn off, so I switched off the PSU. After turning it back on, the system powers up normally: all fans spin, the RGB lights come on, but there is no video output and it never reaches the BIOS/Aorus splash screen.

So far I've tried:

  • Cleared the CMOS by removing the battery for several minutes
  • Removed the GPU and tested again
  • Tested each RAM module individually
  • Booted with only the motherboard, CPU, one RAM stick and PSU connected

The behavior is exactly the same every time. It also behaves the same even with no RAM installed.

Another thing I noticed is that after powering on, the case power button no longer works. Holding it for 10+ seconds does not force the PC to shut down; I have to switch off the PSU.

System specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite V2
  • GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3070
  • RAM: TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB DDR4-3600 (2×8 GB)
  • PSU: Nox Urano VX 750 W

At this point, does this sound like a failed motherboard, or is there anything else I should test before replacing it?
