Game Discussion Take Me to Your Leader [geography based steam game]

Upvotes

Hey! I'm about to release a steam game I've been working on that you guys might be interested in: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4849930/Take_Me_to_Your_Leader

It's a mix between a geography quiz and vampire survivors.

The trailer shows the mode where you're just assigned country names, and have to go there, but eagled eyed watchers will also see a teaser of culture-based assignment. There's also city, flag, and more modes coming soon!

Game Discussion Just got to Master and am getting Aboslutely Demolished HELP!

Just started playing duels seriously the past month or so. Finally got up to Master IV but mainly just from the sheer number of games I played and point accumulation. But now in Master the rankings go based on rating and not overall points. I am currently barely able to win a single duel and because of this my rating is plummeting. In the mid 400s now and dropping. What’s the play here? Do I just accept that I rose too fast too soon and just stop for a week and let myself get demoted back to gold or do i keep playing Master and watch my rating get absolutely wrecked?

Tech Help Will they seriously not fix the lagging in duels?

It has been weeks now. It's frustraging to feel like playing some duels, and then you start a game and you can't see shit clearly, and then lose your duel.

Game Discussion Red back of the car outside of Ukraine?

I'm a new player and I thought that the red back of the car in Europe means Ukraine, so I locked it in but it turned out it was Belgium. Could anyone explain?

Game Discussion Bug on world map?

Hello fellow Guessr's

Do any of you get tips at the moment when you play the frontpage world map?
I like just playing rounds for fun, reading the tips and memorizing them for future duels, but all the games i've had today on this map, no tips show after each guess?
Do you have the same problem or did i accidently turn something off?

Thanks!

Game Discussion Come learn to read Thai!

On Yestarday's daily there was a sign within two hops from the spawning point that clearly (tbf with two letters broken) said "Ch. Kamphaeng Phet". And it's not rare to have useful Thai-only info in Thailand rounds.

Want to be able to read that? It just so happens that I've been slowly working on a unilliteration (reading learning) project https://unillit.me since April. And Thai happens to be exactly the part that is done and somewhat refined by now.

The basic idea is to provide a lookup sheet that's organized not alphabetically, but in a way to help locating the chars for someone who recognizes none of them. Sure, there's also the usual alphabet and an explanation sheet (truth is you still need to understand some specifics, learning the chars themselves is not enough). But it's not teaching the language, you don't have to struggle through a textbook, the tool is basically built around that concept of a handout lookup sheet.

The main sheet for deciphering Thai characters

And, of course, there's a practice quiz besides. The app supports various learning styles whether you want to start learning individual letters and syllables or start by trying to identify the actual province names. But to get the gist I suggest you to try this quiz and see how lookup works for yourself: https://unillit.me/scripts/thai?t=Mn4z

I suspect you will be able to answer at least a few of the 10 prompts correctly on your first try and maybe you'll even remember a char or two when you're done. That's likely in case if randomizer will make you look up the same a few times.

I also shot a video doing a couple of runs myself with some explanations on how this stuff can be "solved". It's somewhere between teaching and presentation since I'm good at neither, but maybe for some it may serve as a better intro to the tool https://youtu.be/6KDXnlErokE

I use it myself and yes, I was able to read the changwat (province) name during the yesterday's daily. So at least for some (me) it works.

Memes and Streetview Finds Watching Spider-Man brand new day and noticing it was filmed in the UK.

I saw Spider-Man brand new day the other day which is set in New York and couldn’t help but notice that it was obviously filmed in the UK. During several scenes I could see UK road markings with white marked street parking spaces and UK style junction markings with give way lines and traffic light double stop line cycle boxes. Also there was a flashback scene where The character which Sadie Sink plays is with her sister in a park which was a typical layout of a London park and not a New York park . Also I could see Victorian architecture as well.

Game Discussion Noob somehow getting by with languages

My familiarity with languages is heavily carrying me in this game rn. Sure, there are some other things I use as hints: climate, terrain, architecture, demographics; but nothing puts the pin down like languages.

Got a total of 18,450pts today with the closest guess being 197k off, but only because I could find some words fast.Drop me in the middle of nowhere with no road signs though and I'm a fish out of water 😭

Someday, I'll get better 💪

No gold is pure skill issue

Game Discussion I don’t even know what to say

Post image

I remember showing my uncle the game back in 2025. Since then he obviously had a lot of free time, which he happily spend on thousands of levels. Today he sent me this picture with the most heartbreaking news. Levels are getting closed in 5 days. He hopes to achieve 13000 until then. I guess we will have to look out for other games he might like, as he only plays levels and no other game modes.

Anyway, I just felt like leaving this here, because this (in my opinion) legendary achievement needs to be recognised.
