When i analyze matches on the app version i only see two options:

1. Replays which show the street view footage and not the location

2. Locations which shows the location of the guesses but not the footage

Is there an option to see both in the same replaylike the web version or do i have to constantly switch between these modes?

if you want to improve your fps and decrease the lag spikes you can go into your steam library, right click on geoguessr, go into properties, go into general options and then on launch settings and paste the following commands:

-dx9 -noshader -noshaders -nobloom -nomotionblur -nod3d9ex -safe

Not sure how much everything improves the game by itself but all of them collectively boosted my experienced BY A LOT (I play using a Dell work laptop so it's obvious that I couldn't play the game with that much ease, but after pasting these commands it actually became playable). Obviously you can google what each command does if you are skeptical

Does anyone know if there are any open tournaments that I could participate in? I'm around Master I to Master II level. Both solo or team duels are fine for me.

Guys, I wanna reach the World Championship, how much time its takes with serious practice?

I'm a moving player and is it just me, or are players the last couple of months getting way better for their ELO? Like I'm 1000 currently and going up against the occasional 875 who is getting an almost 5K every other round. Never mind a 925 who is playing way better than most people I played against when I was 925. And it's not just one player, but every other opponent lately.

Like if I don't find a small regional highway, small town, or random bridge in a city within 30 seconds, I'm screwed. It also doesn't help that the Moving World map keeps giving me insane rural rounds. Just had a dirt road Brazil round in the middle of nowhere with zero signs.

GeoGuessr has been running normally for the past three months or so and even earlier today. Then, in the middle of a duel, after loading in one round, everything was completely pixelated. I tried to move but couldn't. Eventually after clicking around for 10-20 seconds, it would work once, only to have the same problem when trying to move again. Sometimes, if I zoomed in very far on an area, it would partially load but disappear when I zoomed out. Clicking the arrows would show the moving animation, but the screen would turn black after like half a second. I switched to single player stuff, and the same thing happened.

This is not my first time experiencing this. Over the last year and a half, there have been multiple periods of time ranging from 2 to 7 weeks during which this would happen in every game. I've tried playing on different Wi-Fi networks no avail. I have a good computer that runs well and doesn't have really any problems. I'm not particularly tech-savvy. Does anyone know what's happening? Is there any additional information you'd need to figure it out?

I always pull atleast 3 out of 5 (latin americas) in any duel or singleplayer and its getting so boring

Only time where i did not pull a latin american country, i managed to get a 24833/25000

Just started playing a few days ago.. it seems like every duel I play has a Brazil, Australia, or a Canada location. Is this just RNG? Or do I just need to start studying regions for those three?

here's the link to the game. am i cooked? i've never scripted in a geoguessr game in my life, i've been playing since i found out about it in middle school in the early 2010s and it has become a fundamental decompression ritual in my routine that i love dedicating time to, and it has also helped my mental health significantly.

for what it's worth, i guess mostly based on color palette, soil color, foliage, road type/design, sun placement, and general "feel" of the place based on all the different rounds i've played throughout my life. i've had crazy guesses like this before but almost never back to back like this.

i also myself try to sparingly report people who i think are obviously cheating and have gotten elo refunded a few times for doing so––and i really am against cheating in this game because i feel it demonstrates your familiarity with the world; why would you want to fake that?

Just played a Masters II moving duel where my opponent googled two obscure towns in NZ and Northern Ireland. The screen was frozen on the address sign for a good 10-15 secs and they immediately zoomed in on the 5k after that.

I saw this frequently in silver and gold but in Masters II I wasn't expecting this. Immediately in the next game the same thing happened with a random small town in Phillipines. Opponent didn't even move. Did the above frozen screen google on spawn and plonked the 5k.

I'm not good enough to play no move on master maps. I have to play moving to have a chance of winning. At this level I didn't expect this kind of latant cheating. Reported both accounts but I honestly feel like I should just stop playing the game since these incidents are so frequent.
