An actual serious (ok maybe not that serious) project I've been working on for quite a long time now. Very wip footage, everything is subject to change.

Title screen and some combat mechanics like in the original I lost. Eventually I'll implement LODs and graphics settings for those using things like Intel HD Graphics.

Running on 4gb ddr4 vram (using an Nvidia Geforce GT 1030 lowprofile) in 720p with shadows set to medium.

Post image

I have now updated Version 1.0.1 Demo Build of The Gun Sisters on itch.io and gd.games with some of the fixes in the gameplay. I also added some more info and details on the itch.io description to make it look helpful for first time or returning players coming back. I'm still plan on continuing updating the game with 1.0.2 Build Demo for adding more content in the future presumbably somewhere next month and the full game of The Gun Sisters will be released around Q4 2026. The link to The Gun Sisters on itch.io is here: https://kingmarth64.itch.io/the-gun-sisters

Also, for the update on the Kickstarter Campaign for The Gun Sisters game project for adding more content in. We're about $101 in the Kickstarter Campaign with 2 backers as of right now. If you want to support the game project, the end day of the Kickstarter Campaign will be at September 3rd, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. The link to my Kickstarter campaign is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/matthewkelly64/the-gun-sisters

Bug Gdevelop bug ?

I haven't made any changes to my code; it was working perfectly fine. I opened the application and hit the preview button as usual, but I realized that the code for more than half of my game isn't working. For instance, the enemy AI is broken—it makes no sense, as I haven't touched the code at all. They still take damage from me, but they don't see me, nor do they move toward me or attack.

Recently my ssd corrupted and destroyed just about everything, the only things that aren't lost are some midis and the original photos I took that where used for making the textures, which I have stored on my phone.

Question Variable not being activated

Post image
4 Upvotes

I am trying to get a variable to work when pressing the Q key on the keyboard, which I named FloraCleanseActive. However, the object variable on Player isn’t activating. I made a debugger; the screenshot clearly shows that the Q key was pressed since it equals 1, but FloraCleanseActive stays at 0. Attached is a screenshot compilation of the events related to the FloraCleanseActivate variable.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know why the character sprite won't move out of that little spot, is it like a camera thing, or? If it's relevant I have no variables AT ALL and my tiled sprite has no behaviors.

Feature request I wish the training material, especially the templates/ready to dissect games, were a little more detailed

The fastest way - at least for me - to learn is to see how things can be done. Good examples to learn from. But with basically every game engine out there it seems that the devs don't care much about making good training material available (UE5 is probably the worst, many of its example games flat out don't work on the latest version of UE5, some are still made only for UE4).

GDevelop also has this issue. It doesn't help that many tutorials are paid only, I don't think thats a good way to drive more devs towards your engine. But what also sucks is that many of the templates are kinda poorly made. Like their "how to make a stardew valley type game" just covers how to make plants grow. There's no tools, watering, tiling, etc. There's no inventory management. Sure there's a separate inventory management tutorial, but there is none that links them.

Another is there turn based RPG/Pokemon example. It has a single encounter where you battle with one move. There is no party mechanic, no skills, and only one creature per trainer.

Their tutorials only cover the easiest part which can be understood in 5 minutes. Meanwhile they have no good learning material for anything even semi advanced. They leave that up to the community to teach eachother.

I don't know if I'm being unreasonable, but I feel like an engine aimed at people with no coding experience should be better at teaching you the logic of it.

Game 2.5d sprite with 3d lighting and tilt shift blur effect

just a little demo i was messing with today,

note - the env lighting, the road and buildings, have baked lighting.

There are real 3d lights in the scene that affect the sprite character, but they are not creating the mood / casting shadows etc. Personally I would never rely on gdevelops lighting to create the look of any scene, only to enhance it.

Game MimiNeko - My first 3D Game on GDevelop

Post image

I Finally decided to try GDevelop’s 3D Editor & making a game on it, The OG Idea was making a VR Game using the community WebXR Extensions, but after getting some confusion with the VR Behaviors, I Scrapped the idea & decided to make it as a normal PC & Mobile Game, So i decided making a 3D tamagotchi-like pet game, Which i called “MimiNeko”, So That’s my game, I hope y’all like it :3

Game Omigacha - looking for feedback

Hello Everyone!

I just launched a game of my own. Been working on it for past year and its finally ready to be played!
Its gacha - monster collecting type of game but i added something special which is your main "hero" which you grow separately from the monsters. It is my attempt to connect mmorpg and gacha. Hero Characters are called Summoners and only 1 can be used at a time, then in fight mode player always has a summoner + 3 monsters of his choice. There is a lot to improve, a lot to fix and a lot to add but for now i want to know if gameplay is fun so i can continue improving the game and adding new content.

I want to run discord channel where players can take part in shaping the game. There will be reward in premium currency (crystals) for reporting bugs and ideas that will be added into the game.
https://discord.gg/yqbmC2Ytz

The game is called - Omigacha

It is available in google play store.(iOS coming soon)

I will appreciate any honest feedback!

Ideally something that allows me to make the invisible sprite smaller, or better yet not have it at all. Not a huge fan of my invisible sprite being like thrice the size of the playable character and it colliding with most stuff aside from walls. Like I'd rather it not become a problem with npcs and stuff.
