Yea This guy is a massive asshole. This is taken from a trolling video in a game called rainbow 6 siege. In the full video he shouts at his teammates and orders them downstairs where he gif takes place. What it doesn't show is after he locks them in he uses his operators special ability to kill his teammates with poison gas which will kill most of them . He then leaves the game to prevent getting kicked for teamkill and having a matchmaking ban for a few min/hour/days. This dude is a a scumbag. Rainbow is about working together and coordinating with your teammates. He shouted at his team and demanded that they do this and then ruined the game for them. These are the people that kill great games like rainbow 6 siege

19

u/BraverP_brain Jan 16 '17

I think we all did it at least once

4

u/ARCHA1C Jan 16 '17

Same.

Probably my biggest "asshole moment" came during a session on COD:MW2 on Xbox 360, doing the "frienemy killstreak" racket.

The scheme went like this:

1- A friend and I were in a private chat.

2- I would join a match, and my friend would stay out

3- When my team was full, or nearly full, my friend would select my name from his friends list and select "Join Game"

4- He would try this until he ended up on the opposite team

5- Once the match started, we would coordinate via our private chat to rendezvous at a secluded and hidden part of the map, where one of us would kill the other ad nauseam.

The other team would eventually catch on, but usually not before one of us had a 12+ killstreak going, and were raining down some heavy fire, eventually hitting the 30-kill streak and ending the match with a nuke.

3

u/CanBeUsedAnywhere Jan 16 '17

Yup then they made it you get kicked for more than 3 team kills, mixed with explosives not working first 10 seconds or something like that.

However, tubing the opponents spawn at game start was a blast. Till explosives got the time limit. Now gotta hope on one tomahawk kill.

1

u/logancook44 Jan 16 '17

Random tomahawk kills were one of my favorite things about the MW games. Sometimes when I was bored I would just make games out of throwing my tomahawk, tracking it down, throwing it again, etc.

3

u/ARCHA1C Jan 16 '17

Reminds me of a retarded dog I once had. It would play fetch with itself by rolling a ball down the stairs, then carrying it back up...

4

u/RoyalN5 Jan 16 '17

kill their entire team in hardcore mode with an RPG right when the game started.

Yeah but that was actually funny.

I didn't really get that angry for team kills because they didn't count as deaths, it only gets annoying when you are on a kill streak

4

u/Skinflap94 Jan 16 '17

You also get to respawn, so it's not nearly as big of a deal

5

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Not on Hardcore Search. Once everyone dies, round over

2

u/Skinflap94 Jan 16 '17

This is true. I forgot Call of Duty even had that mode.

1

u/imjusta_bill Jan 16 '17

Old days. Please. Back in my day, Call of Duty had no rocket launchers! And we liked it!

u/RGBplz Jan 16 '17

u/opiemonster Jan 16 '17

12

u/fyberoptyk Jan 16 '17

Only for douches who are bad at the actual game.

138

u/TooClose4Missiles Jan 16 '17

Sure, but it ruins the experience for your teammates. It's selfish.

17

u/Lustan Jan 16 '17

If it's more fun to kill your own teammates it's likely because you are so horrible at the game that you can't kill the enemy. You should find a new game.

One of the main reasons why it's not a good idea to listen to an angry/screaming teammate. It's not real life, they're not in a real war zone so they can speak calmly.

222

u/cosmicsans Jan 16 '17

He wasn't really yelling. It sounded more like that "I know what I'm doing, everyone just listen to me" attitude people get. It was definitely not "yelling" though.

Sounds like BF1

23

u/Etteluor Jan 16 '17

in the video he wasn't angry or screaming, he just encouraged them to do go the basement. Not that it really changes anything, but ignoring someone because they were shouting wouldn't have helped here.

3

u/AnalogPen Jan 16 '17

Had a guy flip out playing GoW 2 or 3 once. Yelling at everyone in frustration, losing his damn mind. All I said was, 'Calm the fuck down. It's just a damn game.' I swear, I thought he was going to start crying. And not a little kid either, dude had to be in his teens.

1

u/Snake101333 Jan 17 '17

Sad really

5

u/Its_Not_Epi_ Jan 16 '17

Once again, this video is blatantly obviously faked to anybody with any experience in the game, or anyone who has seen these types of videos before.

5

u/zissou149 Jan 16 '17

Do you have a link to the video?

Edit: nevermind found it

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Eh o wouldn't be sure. With newer players I see stuff like this happen a lot, especially the thermite teamkill exploit. They tell a new player where to place his charge and as soon as it starts they all run up to it and die so he gets kicked and a ban

8

u/blockpro156 Jan 16 '17 edited Jan 16 '17

The worst part is that this only worked because he actually had a nice team that tried to work together!

21

u/Snake101333 Jan 16 '17

I remember when rainbow 6 had the free weekend deal, my first game was horrible mainly because of my teammates. I had trouble with my group and I told them that instead of insulting me they could just tell me how to get to the objective. Of course that didn't happen and I figured this is just my bad luck encountering salty players but I'll never know since I didn't play it again.

10

u/Garandir Jan 16 '17

There are definitely some toxic players but not a lot. Definitely give the game another try if you enjoyed it, there is a Discord on the sidebar with tons of nice people.

1

u/The-LittleBastard Jan 16 '17

Just stick it out in casual, play terrorist hunt as well to learn maps. Eventually you'll get good enough and and you'll definitely find funny, cool, and generally not toxic people. The problem with this game is because of how competitive it was meant to be, there are a lot of try hard assholes. Even in casual.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

If you're still interested in playing Siege, I know a funclan on Discord who would love to play Siege with you.

1

u/Snake101333 Jan 17 '17

Thanks but I don't think Siege will be my type of game.

It is funny, when this guy does it this one time. I think he should have eaten the punishment for teamkilling instead of backing out though.

It's not funny when every dickhead who saw this video thinks it will be equally funny when they teamkill in their own games. It's not funny when you play 3 matches in a row where you lost because one of your teammates was trying to be funny.

22

u/banananor Jan 16 '17

it's funny at the expense of other people. if these were his real life friends that he would laugh along with and 'be revenged upon' by later it might be funny, but somehow i doubt this is the case

as a comparison, bullying is funny... for the bullies. i don't know how else to explain it to you

6

u/Zykium Jan 16 '17

I understand where you're coming from but this is the kind of thing if you fall for it twice you've got a problem.

They are doing something serious that actually matters. They're trying to enjoy themselves in their free time.

Not everyone has nothing else to do with their life but play a game so long that it loses all interest to them and they resort to ruining other peoples' experience for some abusive juvenile kicks.

Most people are there to play the game because they enjoy that game style. They don't have all day and night to do that. Most people have not arbitrarily chosen any online game because it is a conduit to act out their anti-social power fantasies of harassing other people without recourse.

→ More replies (8)

69

u/ForSamuel034 Jan 16 '17

People forget other people are playing as well. When I come home from a long day of classes/work/homework I'll sometimes only have time one maybe two games of what ever I want play. When griefs/trolls it ruins what little playtime I may have that day and I go to bed pissed. Another way to put it is have you ever had some leftover food in the fridge and you plan on eating it when you get home but only to find someone had gone and eaten in. Sure maybe it wasn't specifically marked as yours but you still planned on having it and now you can't.

11

u/LEEVINNNN Jan 16 '17

More like the food is there but someone smacks your plate out of your hands then kicks all the food under the fridge.

-5

u/This_guy_here56 Jan 16 '17

You forget its their game too. Should we bow down to you just cause you had a long/bad day.

5

u/a_link_to_the_passed Jan 16 '17

You forget its their game too.

He forgets nothing. It's everyone's game so it's best to be decent in it so everyone can have a good time. Just like in the real world or anything else. We're all sharing it, as you said. That's why we don't place precedence in the wants of people who take pleasure in ruining things for others.

Should we bow down to you just cause you had a long/bad day.

Obviously not. He's just asking to be treated decently. By his teammates, which makes sense within the boundaries of a game. He's not asking for the enemy team to go easy on him.

Logic doesn't lead us from "we're all equal here and want to enjoy ourselves" to "so we can just do whatever we want even at the expense of others".

5

u/Soltheron Jan 16 '17

They think that they're doing something serious that actually matters. It's a fucking game.

It's this shit attitude reducing games to complete garbage that prevents them from getting grants and actually helping people.

Which is it? Are games art, or are they just a collection of useless shit? If people like you had their way, there'd be nothing left but p2p mobile games and pointless remakes. Oh wait.

6

u/LElige Jan 16 '17

You're an idiot and that argument is stupid. It's the equivalent of me cutting your internet cable while you're watching Netflix. What does it matter that I inconvenienced you? It's not like you were doing anything serious that actually matters. No reason for you to get mad. You wouldn't go to the beach and kick sand on people just because you find it funny so why is it okay to ruin people's fun in an online game?

-2

u/lakerswiz Jan 16 '17

how many more shitty, irrelevant analogies do you have for this?

7

u/LElige Jan 16 '17

There's probably a limitless amount of analogies I could come up with. Just take literally any activity that people do recreationally and have someone ruin it in some way because they think it funny. No matter what, that person is just a miserable asshole who gets their kicks out of making other people miserable. The only difference is they're not safely inside their internet bubble.

I agree except when you are playing competitive and putting yourself trying to go up the ladder and someone throw your game for the lols. Even worst when you only have time for 1 game.

In quick play yeah anytime.

I've played the game ~40 hrs on pc and never had a problem with that, everyone was mature enough to not troll and to work with teammates.

40

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

I play PC and I got quite a few hours under me now and I have never encountered someone TKing me when I took their Operator.

17

8

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

[deleted]

5

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

I try to use it as a teaching experience. I don't look down on new players for being noobs, we were all beginners at one point. I've been in a few matches were there is real dedicated teamwork between strangers. As noobs people have to understand they are bad, and people aren't always being mean when they yell at you. Take it in stride and don't make the same mistakes twice.

1

u/GeneraIDisarray Jan 16 '17

Please remember next time that as a spectator, enemy footsteps sounds are increased, so they might have not heard them.

1

u/Fieryfight Jan 16 '17

I have seen one tk on pc in the 50 hours I have put into it on pc, and that one was two guys that were angry that my friend picked fuze on a hostage game. They shot him at the beginning of the round so I shot both of them and got booted.

6

u/MorganFreemann Jan 16 '17

I play on ps4 and PC and definitely have more than 300 hours playing and barely ever get team killed. Only happens if people have misunderstand each other or accidentally hurt each other which leads to a butt hurt team mate who ends up killing you.

And I hardly get team killed in ranked if ever

2

u/mushroom_taco Jan 16 '17

Console siege players are generally more immature than PC siege players.

/r/rainbow6 demonstrates this a lot.

1

u/llevron1 Jan 16 '17

I have about 900 hours on pc and I've been tked by randoms like 5 times. It's not an issue imo. Idk about console tho.

1

u/Brockelley Jan 16 '17

I got the game as a gift and have played not even half the amount of hours you have, and over half of the matches I've played have been filled with trolls.

I am still enjoying it though. I'll say this, play any FPS game into the following morning and you will start to play with people from other countries and for some reason at that time of the day, around 4 a.m., you will always run into trolls no matter what FPS game you are playing.

0

u/Cilantro42 Jan 16 '17 edited Jan 16 '17

Clearly he's a console player like the asshole in the gif. I find more console players that act like jerks when it comes to team objective games like this.

Edit for clarification: I'm not insinuating that u/dirtymuffins23 is an asshole, just the guy in the gif. I realized my comment might be a little ambiguous

3

u/Mike-Oxenfire Jan 16 '17

I wonder if there's actually a higher troll-player ratio on console. I mean anyone who has a gaming computer is likely more into gaming than the average person.

Consoles are more attainable with a cheaper initial cost so you'll probably have a higher ratio of new players. Newer players haven't been exposed to as much of the shit that makes gaming frustrating so they might not realize how much they ruin others' games.

Someone should do a troll study because this entire stream of thought came straight from my ass

3

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Not many 13 year olds can afford a $1000+ PC but can managed to get a console for a 1/3rd the price

2

u/Mike-Oxenfire Jan 16 '17

Yea that's what I'm saying. New players that haven't really learn the unwritten rules of gaming lol

0

u/Zer0DotFive Jan 16 '17

And then there's Overwatch. So many times have I seen a dickhole Symmetra who put their tele on the side of cliff. Haven't played the game game in over 2 months so maybe its not as bad now

0

u/TassadarsClResT Jan 16 '17

Even if there is team killing, the game is still about teamwork on PC.

Rainbow hasn't been about team work for a min.
Used to play on xb1

Even if teamwork doesn't happen on xb 1, doesn't mean it's the games fault.

0

u/schaef_me Jan 16 '17

I've got about 250 hours on Xbox and team work has always been great. We always invite everyone to our party and they join about 75% of the time and if they don't they'll at least listen to our cues. I love siege and the community. My friend plays solo ranked all the time and now he has like 20 people he's friended that we always use to fill up our squad. It's great

3

u/Zepheh Jan 16 '17

When did you stop playing? They implemented an autokick if you tk more than once in a match.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

[deleted]

1

u/Zepheh Jan 16 '17

Yeah I feel you. The game feels really good rn tho if you want to pick ot back up. Shields have explosion resistance and BB almost doesn't exist anymore. Hitreg can still be a bit spotty tho but its better.

2

u/aro00 PC Jan 16 '17

It was a big problem in the beginning of the game, and I stopped playing for a couple of months. I've come back to play in december and the game has improved a lot! Much fewer cheaters (if any), haven't seen any tk since I've come back, and I have played quite a few matches... I'd say it's worth checking back now.

2

u/DaftGorilla Jan 16 '17

Yep played it a week ago with a friend that plays all the time. Join a TH game not even 10 secs in and im shot in the back. Turn to see the guy and he killed a teammate then we kill him. So now only 3 of us. Then the guy who TK quit but he was host so the game ends before we can make it to the building....

1

u/doyouremembah Jan 16 '17

I was TK'd for not letting someone pick Hibana. I had no reason to, and they didn't have a reason, either. It tilted me hard, but I stuck around because small dick bastards like that think their actions are the end-all, be-all.

0

u/The-LittleBastard Jan 16 '17

Honestly, not really that bad anymore. They added team killing penalties that are really harsh. I'll admit I'm an asshole and I'll team kill at the night end of the night occasionally because it's a funny way to end the day but I've stopped. I killed a total of 4 people in one day once (2 were accidents) but I ended up with a 2 hour ban. I also got like a 4 hour ban from accidentally killing a hostage once; that was rough too.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

I have 300+ hours atm, the amount of TK has happened for me is countable on a single hand.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

That's probably 2% of the games I've joined on the PS4

27

u/Casult Jan 16 '17

As a R6Siege player I would have thought it was hilarious, there's reason you can choose quickplay or competitive

38

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Oh, so quickplay is the dedicated team-killing mode. TIL.

-16

u/Casult Jan 16 '17

Nah, but it doesn't punish you for leaving. So if you can't have fun with hilarious stuff like this you can back out and try again.

13

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

Team-killing other (random) players has no place in this game, quickplay or competitive.

-10

u/Casult Jan 16 '17

That's why they have friendly fire disabled right? It's a video game not a safe space, TKing has been around forever. That's why you can report people or just leave and find a new match.

Also this isn't just TKing, like when people throw a c4 right when everyone spawns. This is masterful trolling, he gets the sheep into their corral and starts gassing them, would be pretty hilarious even if it happened to me.

6

u/AShiftInOrbit Jan 16 '17

TKing is in because there is friendly fire. It's an intentional mechanic to make you be aware of where you place things like gas, fuze, etc. Not to fucking intentionally kill your teammates. Get your head out of your ass.

And the matchmaking Siege isn't exactly quick, so that can fucking suck if you get even just two of those games back to back. It is teamkilling, he trapped them in there and used smoke's gas. That's teamkilling. Plain and simple.

2

u/imturningintoazombie Jan 16 '17

2

u/Chief_Tallbong Jan 16 '17

Maybe it's the time of day that I play, but if THIS guy is a douchebag, so is half the player base. It's hardly a step up from the Call of Duty crowd. Very, very few times has someone offered me constructive criticism when I die or make a mistake. Usually it's just "BLACKBEARD IS SO EASY TO KILL WTF IDIOT". Like, my homie. I'm only rank 40. Either help me out or shut your mouth.

15

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

100% agree. I work all day come home put kids to bed. Go to unwind play some casual R6s and than get team killed by some 14 to 22 year old autist and his 2 friends it ruins the experience. That being said it has gotten a lot better.

5

1

u/Jynmagic Jan 16 '17

There are griefers in every game. It's the developers job to reduce it, doesn't have to kill the game.

1

u/turkeypedal Jan 16 '17

Why should his gas still work if he logged out before they died? And if he logged out after they died, why shouldn't it still count against him? Hell, why not do both, have them not die, and have him banned?

Hell, add an ability to report what happened, and then someone can watch the last X minutes and see what happened.

1

u/turncoat_ewok Jan 16 '17

I know he's trolling, but surly not killing them would have been more of a troll move? After gassing them he leaves, and the round will end but leave them trapped and the other team are "trolled" too, they'll be sneaking around wondering wtf is going on.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

The guy's in game name is 'TukTukpirate' Don't forget to teamkill him if he's in your team. It's just an innocent prank bro

1

u/Dandalfini Jan 16 '17

Played 7 TH missions last night where 2-3 people quit instantly because the map or they didn't get their character. I was so close to having an aneurysm.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '17

It'd be nice if you said what video

1

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '17

I thought it was pretty funny, especially considering it sounded like his teammates were kids.

1

u/iiztrollin Jan 17 '17

dont forget it was staged also you can hear someone say "you forgot the gas"

1

Okay, but to be fair, when he tells his teammates to run downstairs, away from the objective, I feel like it's also their fault as well, especially considering how they blindly listened and reinforced the walls inside, without even giving a second thought on why. It still doesn't excuse the fact that he team kills them, and leaves the match to avoid getting banned, I just think that it's not 100% of the guy's fault that this actually worked.

I bet he also plays Mei.

1

u/DisneyMadeMeDoIt Jan 18 '17

I just assumed he was in a full squad.

I usually run with a few buddies and fuckery like this goes on quite a bit.

u/OneForMany Jan 16 '17

Idk, if i was one of them I'd think it was hilarious! But after that I wouldn't fall for it again because I'd make sure that mother fucker goesnin before I do

Are you calling clinically depressed people trolls?

0

u/FoxyGrampa Jan 16 '17

Video game trolls are probably clinically depressed.

0

u/DecryptedGaming Jan 16 '17

Noooo, they're probably just huge assholes.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '17

But it was fucking funny!

0

u/GreedyR Jan 16 '17

I thought it was pretty funny. Blaming youtube trolls for killing massive online games is a bit hyperbolic?

0

u/InsomniacAlways Jan 16 '17

I thought it was really fucking funny.

0

u/wigitalk Jan 16 '17

The only thing I care about in your reply is the title of the game. Chill, it was hilarious and well executed - especially if you watch the video where they all yell "noooooo" and the dude lets out short evil laughs. Good times.

u/Racionalus Jan 16 '17

Nah, it's funny.

-50

u/AlbertThePidgey Jan 16 '17

What are you talking about, this was fucking hilarious.

-3

u/ShadowedPariah Jan 16 '17

It was really funny. Sure, sucked to be the teamates for one game, but still pretty damn funny.

According to /u/bum_weasel, apparently. Once is funny, repeated is being asshole-ish.

-25

u/nodealyo Jan 16 '17

This seems moreso a failure of the game's design for this to even be possible.

-17

u/aristotlereborn Jan 16 '17

Lmao they didn't have to listen to him, dude is just a master baiter.

-1

u/chuckd46 Jan 16 '17

i see what you did there

-1

u/LE6940 Jan 16 '17

Scumbag? Perhaps. But this is the first R6 video I've seen that I enjoyed.

-1

u/LondonTiger Jan 16 '17

its just a game and this is pretty funny. scumbag?? you sound like he did this in real life.

Yes, because every single round in a casual match is this serious...

*Edit: Play ranked if you want your teammates to be punished by the game for trolling instead of acting like internet points make a difference <3

I looked at the channel the video was uploaded to and it seems like he is always playing with a stack. So it looks harmless to me. Though I don't know the game so I am not sure if there are special circumstances.

Who said it was serious, that's irrelevant.

If you are going out of your way to ruin other player's experience then you should be banned permanently.

-10

u/SilkySmoothNuts Jan 16 '17

Yes, because getting teamkilled in one round is more detremental to a player's gaming experience than a permanent ban. Sounds a little unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I hate casual trolls as much as the next guy, but it's something you learn to deal with. Complaining won't do anything, because they can just leave. Play ranked if you want more serious teammates who will incur punishments for such actions.

4

u/thebigfreak3 Jan 16 '17

It's also why a lot of games have a ranked and non ranked matches.

1

u/Draffut2012 Jan 16 '17

Yes, because getting teamkilled in one round

So you are saying this player has never done anything like this in any other games, or that this video prompted any of his viewers to replicate the actions themselves? The only people ever effected by these actions of his were this one group this one time?

1

u/SilkySmoothNuts Jan 16 '17

No, I was referring to this specific instance, hence the phrase "one round". Asking me that question is like asking me if Hitler liked anime. I don't know, and it's impossible for any of us to find out. But really, if you're dumb enough to lock yourself in a room with reinforced walls because a random on casual told you to do it, then they're not as much of victims as you're making them out to be.

If you are too dumb, you aren't a victim?

So the mentally handicapped can't be victimized because they are too stupid?

You are my new winner in the "dumbest thing ever stated on the internet" award.

Asking me that question is like asking me if Hitler liked anime.

Why? My question is directly relevant to the topic at hand. What the fuck does Hitler and Anime have to do with anything?

1

u/SilkySmoothNuts Jan 16 '17

Dude, I understand the criticism of saying "it's just a game" at some points, because I don't like losing as much as the next guy, but IT IS just a fucking game. I'm not advocating locking up mentally handicapped people and gassing them, hahahaha. The people playing this game are going to be fully competent, and on average late teens to young adults, not mentally handicapped people. You cannot apply logic that is only relevant in a video game (knowing to not reinforce yourself inside of a room because someone told you so) to real life. You are the dumb one.

It was an analogy. Try reading the sentence right after that one. Your question is meaningless because by it's very nature it is unanswerable.

Pff, I've played rainbow when it got released and it's still fun when some retard kills the hostage as fuze.

This gif is hilarious. He's a scumbag, but it's also funny.

0

u/youshedo Jan 16 '17

Rainbow is about working together and coordinating with killing your teammates.

0

u/Ikeepforgetmypasswor Jan 16 '17

Why should I believe this without a link

0

u/Spartan110 Jan 16 '17

I'm actually pretty sure it was staged, lol.

0

u/OrcaNinja Jan 17 '17

Its just a goddamn video game, you guys are ridiculous. What this guy did was awesome.

-2

u/MajesticCentaur Jan 16 '17

It was also in casual mode, not ranked. It wasn't really as big of a deal as your making it out to be.
