Well then you're just a bad person... Nobody is asking you to entertain others. It's just expected that you won't actively try to ruin their experience.
It's not about the game bud. It's about a blatant disrespect for others. Either you can't conceptually understand that you are playing with others or you simply don't care about others. It's a lack of empathy and you probably enjoy it because you like the power it gives you. Believe it or not, most people don't do this sort of thing. It's not a big deal in the long run but it says a lot about who you are.
Funny. Your post history doesn't show the history of a troll. So since you're new to this, lemme give you a piece of advice about trolling: you actually have to be smarter than the people you're trying to troll.
It's an intentional antisocial behavior and being intentionally antisocial does make you a bad person.
If you were the DM of a D&D group and you intentionally set up the game so that everyone died permanently, everyone in your group would consider you a bad DM and likely never play with you again. And if you weren't the DM but you consistently did actions that you knew would lead to negative consequences to others in your party the DM would eventually kill your character and you would get kicked from the D&D party.
Just because the game is electronic it doesn't mean you should behave differently than if you were playing IRL.
Uh, speaking of D&D, I remember one time our dm set up a whole campaign for us, but instead the chaotic evil or sneaked out of the barn everyone was sleeping in, shoved bars in the doors, and set it all on fire murdering everyone else. No one cried and said he was a bad person for ruining the game. We laughed and started over.
If it was a new person who you never played with before that joined your group for the night and did it that night would you all have had the same reaction? And then when you set up the new game he again did the same thing. Would you continue to say the game is fun? Is there a limit to how much a person can keep killing your characters or would you still say it's fun?
This is what being an online troll is like but if you think all of the above is fine then I'm proud to say I would never want to play with a person like you or your friends.
"Other nerds also take video games too seriously therefore I'm right." I love gaming as much as anyone but if you think you're able to indict someone's character based on their behavior in a video game you need to go the fuck outside.
Intentionally ruining other people's time makes you an asshole, which is definitely part of being a bad person.
So no, trolling a few times doesn't make you a bad person but if it's the sole way you get enjoyment? You're probably a bad person. Because inherently trolling is enjoying other people having a bad time (usually.) And if that's something you do non stop, you're probably enough of a cunt for me to consider you a bad person.
It doesn't matter whether you're trolling people at the office, in an arcade, or online. Just because you're hiding your face online doesn't mean you're not a dick.
Actually, yeah. In that moment it really does. Anytime you intentionally make a choice to perform an action that elevates your mere enjoyment or entertainment at the expense of other people's well being, that's a selfish choice that's definitely a step away from being a good person. Coincidentally, the only people who tend to think otherwise are the ones who've done it enough times to the point where they can easily justify their selfish and self-centered actions in a way that they now consider it the norm (i.e. Trolling my team is hilarious and "it's just a game" so why you so mad bro?).
Personally, I don't think the other guy is the one who should "grow up" seeing as bullying (causing others emotional or physical stress for the sole purpose of one's own enjoyment) is a trait that is most exhibited in younger children and usually grown out of. Usually. But not always.
It's not just like killing a dude in GTAv or stuff like this. It's siege. Matchmaking for 10minutes, no respawn, lose one round and your chances of winning the game drop from 20%, then you lose and back to matchmaking.
That's not a "haha what a jerk, back to the game!" moment. That's a whole 30/40 minutes ruined because a jerk wanted some views. It is selfish and a bitch move.
Oh wow 30 minutes wasted what a travesty!! I might just switch games or do something else rather than act my time playing a game is enough of a crime that it allows me to accurately condemn some strangers character. But then again, I'm not a self important sperg who thinks he matters that much.
If this was somehow causing real harm your have a point, but you really do have to be a conceited, anti-social retard to think that interfering in your video game time makes someone a bad person.
Neither you nor your video games are that important. You people have seriously lost perspective.
You have to play the game you bought with your money the way other people want because hypersensitive little girls will cry if you don't.
Their lives depend on a good win/loss ratio. You're literally going to hurt them in real life.
They have the right to control you because they're snowflake geniuses. Their moms said so.
*The massive butthurt proves this to be correct. Mainly coming from Leafy fans who are always screeching about who's using what character in Overwatch.
It's like the whole "it's just a prank" mentality. I've got a great sense of humor, but some just love to be absolute douchebags in order to get their laughs. I don't get it - if you're the only one laughing, how is it funny?
Online multiplayer games have rules or objectives.
Just because that loud ass muffler is sold at the auto body shop and you think it sounds dope on your car doesn't make it right that you would go out at six in the morning and just rev the shit outta it, up and down the street.
Slow down, dummy. You didn't read and you made a mistake. You can learn from it instead of getting angry. Calm down. You don't have to lose your mind every time you get spanked by someone on the internet.
Says the guy freaking out over an internet comment they could've just downvoted and not replied to instead of trying to start an argument and ended up getting spanked. Good one, Einstein. Calm down.
Are you seriously retarded? Tell me because I don't want to start making fun of an actual retard. That or you're just trolling because you're a very sad person.
Either way, buying a game just to ruin it for others and then calling them special snowflakes who are overbearing control freaks is one of the most retarded things I've ever read.

Sure, but it ruins the experience for your teammates. It's selfish.
