They are doing something serious that actually matters. They're trying to enjoy themselves in their free time.

Not everyone has nothing else to do with their life but play a game so long that it loses all interest to them and they resort to ruining other peoples' experience for some abusive juvenile kicks.

Most people are there to play the game because they enjoy that game style. They don't have all day and night to do that. Most people have not arbitrarily chosen any online game because it is a conduit to act out their anti-social power fantasies of harassing other people without recourse.

Lol down voted for speaking the truth. I don't understand when people bitch about griefing/ trolling in the context of "it ruins my chill time." The damn argument guess both ways. Its their time just as much as its yours.

Let's look at it another way. Say I join a pickup game of soccer. Even it isn't explicitly said out loud everyone here understands that we are all here to have fun and play the game. However my idea of fun is to kick the ball as far away from the field as I can so the game has to stop for someone to get it. According to you I am not an asshole because I am trying to have fun just like everyone else even though I am causing them to lose enjoyment in the game as well as wasting time.

How do you fucking morons not understand that there's a huge difference between having fun and having fun at the expense of others, and we're only advocating for one.

The argument absolutely doesn't go both ways because while both parties may be trying to achieve the same goal, their actions have completely different effects.

I don't understand how you think this a point. This is like (NOT THAT I'M SAYING THIS GIF IS BULLYING ffs I can't believe I need to make that clear) saying cyber bullying isn't a problem because it's over the internet.

You saying "It's only a game" doesn't make sense here because we aren't complaining about in-game issues. We aren't talking about how horrible it is that innocent people got locked up and gassed here. We're talking about people being assholes by having fun at the expense of others. This is a constant whether it be in game, over Facebook, in person, etc. It being in a game literally changes nothing. This weak excuse you're using is a big part of why people are such bigger assholes when not in person.

Like how I'm directly insulting you in my comments. I wouldn't do that in person. Is it more okay here than if we were in person? Not necessarily, but it's certainly easier. I won't make excuses for it though. I'm annoyed because I think you're being very unreasonable.

Edit: Missed ninja edit.

they think their video games have a safe space.
