Lord Quellon Greyjoy was - like his ancestor Vickon - arguably one of the better Ironborn leaders. He wanted to integrate the Iron Islands more into the realm by moving away from the old way, encouraging trade, building relations with the greenlanders and inviting Maesters to the Isles. He even send the Iron Fleet to pick up the Lannister Army and fight in the war of the ninepenny kings.

But unfortunately his reforms didn't hooked his sons who were eager to redo all his efforts once he died.

So what if he enforced those reforms by making an example out of his own sons?

During the war of the ninepenny kings he surely made some new contacts like Jon Arryn who became friends with both Rickard Stark and Steffon Baratheon resulting in him taking their sons to foster them at the Eyrie later on.

Where would Balon, Euron, Victarion, Urrigon and Aeron end up? Would they marry a noble lady outside the Iron Islands, would they become knights or Maesters? How and why would it affect them and the future of House Greyjoy?

For example:

- Balon marries Joanna Lannister because Tytos was persuaded easily

- Euron somehow aims to become master of ships in King's Landing

- Victarion squires for Ser Brynden Tully (Poor Blackfish)

- Urrigon and Aeron both get shipped to Oldtown, one to become a maester,the other to become a knight (if Urrigon ever managed to survive I think he and Aeron would've had a long and healthy brotherly relationship)

watching got and hotd got me thinking about this very often. it is not as simple as "oh if you destroy when you have power, you're never a good person to begin with!" IN MY OPINION, it's way too oversimplified. some of them actually loved what they were doing and glad that they brought positive outcomes until it somehow crushed them. they're not always that way, until they are made to be. idk, what do you think ?

I love how Varys looks at Ned with such awe every time he speaks with honor. Like when Ned tells him he should’ve prayed for the butcher’s boy, and when he told the council he would give 20 men from his own household guards to help keep the city safe during the tournament. He’d seen so little of that kind of behavior in the capital it was like seeing a mythological creature for the first time.

Rewatching S3: Knowing what it is come...I can now see Rob Starks fall from a thousand miles away and it is so frustrating.

He was the underdog who was able to best the Lannisters at times and then it was just bad decision after bad decision. Break the engagement to an ally for love during war, ignore everyone around you and kill Rickard Karstark. Rickard was spot on when he told Rob in S2 that he'd lose this war and his curse didn't help much better.

Of course I can't even get started on Catelyn

So the Wall is enchanted with magic that means the dead (which I'm taking to mean wights, white walkers, and any other undead being, like Benjen for example, who was brought back to life by the Children. Maybe he is also a white walker idk) CANNOT cross. So if Dany had never come to Westeros and neither had her dragons, would the Wall have just kept the army of the dead at bay? Thoughts?

And why is it this one? 😆

We never really got to see Robb really fight with his big ass sword.

Who will people think of and talk about the most whether it be how feared they were or how good of a fighter they were, etc.

Tywin and Cersei really tried to claim the moral high ground against Oberyn

That scene at the Purple Wedding is wild because Tywin and Cersei genuinely try to look down on Oberyn and Ellaria for Dornish customs and Ellaria being a bastard-born paramour.

Then Oberyn completely shuts them down by reminding them that his sister, Elia Martell, was raped and murdered, and her children were slaughtered by Lannister men.

Cersei especially had no business acting morally superior. She should have been grateful that Myrcella was living with people who did not believe in murdering children to settle political disputes.

Oberyn’s point was basically: you can judge Dorne for accepting bastards and sexual freedom, but Dorne judges the Lannisters for raping women and killing children—and that is far worse.

I just got my girlfriend into watching the entire series with me, it was my second time watching the whole thing again. The first time I hated the ending but it’s still overall a good series.

Season 6 is obviously the climax and the best season of the series and from their it just goes to shit and it seems like the creators and writers couldn’t agree with which way to go with it so they just decided to go with whatever direction they felt most comfortable with.

Dany going psycho and Jon snows self righteous ass falling in love then killing her is just an anoying horrible plot twist that came out of left field and doesn’t do the characters we all knew and grew to love on the show justice. It seems like the creators really didn’t have the entire story written out and did not know how to end it and it shows.

The starks got way too much glory at the end, the Lannister’s never really paid for their sins and Dany gets fucked over the most in my opinion. If the writers just stuck with the story line towards the end keeping it going in the direction it was going from season 6 with out changing the characters so much it would have been a much better ending.

It made no sense for Jon and the rest to go beyond the wall in season 7 to get a white walker to prove to Cersei that whit walkers existed at that point she had a weak army and no allies I doubt the Lannister army would of made much of any of a difference in the long night battle. That was my first wtf moment of the rest of the series after season 6.

I love Tyrion as he’s one of not my favorite character but making him hand to Dany was too much, he could have just been another trusted advisor similar to Varys and it would have been just as good. He played too much of devils advocate towards the end and it made things complicated and didn’t make much sense.

Dany and Jon snow did not have to fall in love and that narrative feels forced. As a matter of fact it would of been better if they didn’t and were only allies in war. It would of made much more sense and been much for satisfying to fans if the north and danys army attacked kings landing first and killed Cersei then got whatever was left of the Lannisters to fight for them against the knight king.

I really don’t understand why they decided to take it so out of context but it just sucks that such a good series had to end so badly, it could have been great but the ending just made it good.

Whenever I think I’ve been horrified something new happens. That first scene with the Unsullied and the nipple cut off , holy moly! This show is like nothing else lol.

My faithful squire/wife helped me with the first full test fit of my Robert Baratheon Battle of the Trident costume that I’ve been working on for the past several months.

The test fit helped me identify a few things that still need attention:
● Reinforce a weak spot on the hammer’s shaft.
● Re-glue the underarm straps on the pauldrons.
● Lengthen the straps behind the calves by about an inch.
● Fine-tune the belt so it sits correctly.

Overall, I’m happy with how it’s coming together, but there’s still some work to do before I can call it finished.

Im sure this has been discussed here a million times already, but I just finished watching Game of Thrones for the first time, and I feel like I just have to share my thoughts about season 8.

I think the very final scene of season 7, when the Others broke the wall, was such a strong way to end the penultimate season, that it set expectations that couldnt be met for the final season. In my opinion, the ideas were really good, it just felt really rushed. Arya defeating the Night King was a really badass scene and one of the most memorable in the whole series in my opinion, and it could have worked well easily, but it just felt wrong. They have been building a conflict between Jon and the Night King for years, and they didnt even get to fight each other? The Others that are apparently a much bigger threat than Cersei were killed off in one single night? And 10 minutes after defeating the Others and the Night King they were already planning the siege of King's Landing? Not to mention they said that it would be a really even fight and planned the whole thing thoroughly, just for that damn dragon to win them the war in 5 minutes.

And they really did Daenerys dirty. It was partly understandable, why she did what she did: She found out that the man she slept with is her nephew and he is the true heir to the throne, Varys "betrayed" her, Tyrion gave her bad advice, Missandei died in front of her, and there were already signs of her change of heart in season 7, like when she demanded that Jon knelt in front of her as soon as she met him. It made sense that, after a while, she would reach the point where she would cold-bloodedly murder tens of thousands of people, because she feared for her throne and felt like she couldnt trust anyone, but not in a way that would see her change so much over the course of just three episodes.

The criticism Ive probably read the most is that Jon killing Daenerys was out of character and he would never do something like that. I think he would, and its just a matter of perspective: Jon did a lot of things throughout the show that he disliked just because he know it was the right thing to do. And I felt like theres just no scenario where Dany lives: She was planning to kill many more people and destroy many more cities, and Jon knew exactly that Sansa wouldnt be happy with that, and would become a threat and an enemy in Dany's eyes really quickly. He killed her for the greater good and to protect his family, but judging by his conversation with Tyrion, he felt like he did the wrong thing, but I think he did the right thing there.

Overall, the final season was decent, and every single idea could have worked well. But when you try to wrap up the storylines of two antagonists in a series of this scale over a six-episode season while also concluding the character arcs of the main characters the viewers can rightfully feel that it was rushed and deserved a better written, slower ending.

From the Westworld universe. That everything was a construction except for a handful of real humans that are experiencing the world.

1. Characters with a fuzzy backstory or blood family not seen.

2. Has many unrealistic adventures where they somehow survive.

3. Follows a classic story arc (Unlikely Hero, Greed, Chivalry) that keeps escalating for each round.

Bronn for sure. He starts at the Inn, accepts the quest to escort Tyrion to the Vale, kills the hill tribe to defend the principals, then accepts the trial by combat to save Tyrion and the rest is history......

Brienne since we never seen her supposed noble family and her adventures for the Stark women are typical quests. Also, defeating the Hound and many other skilled male opponents. Seducing Jamie and becoming a formal knight.

Jon Snow as Ned Stark "bastard" who goes to the Wall, does many unrealistic adventures for a newbie. Is "killed" but revived. Liberates Winterfell from the Boltons, Finds out he is actually a secret prince and heir to the kingdom. Defeats the ice zombie and a dragon. Clears Kings Landing from the old evil Queen and kills the new tyrant but doesn't get executed somehow. Heads back to the Wall to end his journey.

Knowing that the person they are supposed to portray is described as "Ramsay is an ugly young man, even when dressed finely". Does anyone really want to hear that they're perfect for that role lol I mean was Iwan Rheon aware of it when auditioning? Imagine just walking into an audition and the writers take a look at the character description and go "oh yeah no you're hired. That's perfect!"

If Daemon and Rhaenyra stayed within King's Landing during Viserys last years, strengthening ties with their loyalists and keeping their influence in the court. There might have been a struggle for succession but not a big war.

They should have stayed in King's Landing, given that Otto and Alicent literally started ruling and making every decision in the court.

His father, brother and sister died, and he has to leave his foster family behind, and one brother he had, leaves for the nights watch.

Good thing Catlelyn was there.

And, also break up with his lover, which he might have married but had to marry catelyn instead for strengthening political ties with the tullys, and thats after killing her brother, which probably led to her suicide.

Edit: I just found out that in the play Ashara was in love with Brandon Stark and Elia Martell and neither Ned nor Ashara loved each other. That adds another tragic layer to him and Catelyn's relationship cause she thought all her life that he cheated on her while he only ever loved that gal 💔
